  1. Also, when you look at the map there's really very few places to hide anything of any material size. Furthermore in those places there's usually even fewer, much smaller, areas with the trees and foliage needed to mask them. I have no problems hiding a single tent, ATV or motorcycle. Anything bigger and you're f'd. That said I'm convinced there's map hacks, we had two different vehicles about 8km apart both disappear within 6 hours of repairing and hiding them, on a low volume time for the server where it never got above about 10 people.

    a lot of suggestions

    Okay first i'd like to say that most of these ideas have been mentioned but i am building upon them. 1) Before the outbreak: lets be honest not everyone is gonna have the exact same skill sets, they could learn but they won't know everything from the start, so first lets divide the "previous lives" the survivors lived into three categories: civilian, military and convict Civilian are people like doctors, mechanics, hunters, teachers and police, each with their own bonuses, doctors bandage faster, gain an effectiveness bonus in hospitals(speed, blood added maybe?) and get more from blood packs maybe, mechanics repair and refuel faster and require less parts for full repairs, hunters are quieter start with a hunting knife and get extra meat from animals, teachers give a bonus to anyone within X distance from them and gain a bonus while in larger groups of people and police start with a makarov and 3-4 clips. Military receive a lesser morale effect from killing and start with a rifle and a few clips and have a camo skin (not ghillie) and a larger backpack they include infantry, engineers, field medics, snipers and pilots, infantry are more accurate, reload quicker and run faster, engineers same as mechs only they gain the bonus on military vehicles and a lesser bonus to civilian vehicles, field medics can stop bleeding from minor wounds (severity of attack change?) and more effective than doctors while in the field with a lesser bonus in hospitals, snipers are more accurate and get a notice saying rough distance of targets after aiming i.e. 100 ish, 200 ish meters and pilots are the only ones capable of flying choppers, not much but a good reason to spare someone if you have a broken one and don't have a pilot yourself. And finally Convict they start with civilian gear but wear a prisoner skin (can be changed by taking a killed survivors clothes) they include murderers, arsonists, thieves and junkies, murderers get no morale loss from killing but do have blood on their hands(literally), arsonists carry a lighter (infinite matches), gain a moral bonus near fire of any kind and can make molotovs (rag, bottle, fuel), thieves quiet and can steal items from others without being noticed and gain a small bonus from using stolen objects, junkies are insane basically, i don't mean just people doing weed i mean LSD psychos, they are extremely strong and don't faint from blood loss as easily and don't die instantly from normal kill shots, they don't realize they are dead instantly but they do suffer addictions to drugs they start with 2 units of a drug (3 or 4 types) that spawn variously in the city, withdrawal cannot be fought threw and causes shakes and muttering causing sound to be stuck at level two minimum (im not 100% sure how people really are so correct me if this is too extreme). 2) morale: not everyone acts the same so your past affects it from square one, but also like what another user said maybe a progressive change, if you spend time near others you gain morale while near them and lose some while alone, spend time alone and you gain a bonus to it and lose it near others as you've lost people skills, killing people will always have an affect but the more you kill the less you feel, eventually. effects include hallucinations, seeing survivors in the distance fade out into mist. hearing the voices of your victims when you look at other survivors down the sights (only after many kills in one small area to prevent the guys hiding out on a rooftop) the voices stack with more kills. high morale grants bonuses like better accuracy, less blood until fainting, longer till hungry and thirsty. 3) game mechanics: after patching the bugs etc. tweak the infected, so that they have a stamina bar because lets face it the average person can sprint for 30 secs tops so make them stop after a bit, same for the survivors and the more often you sprint the further you can go, it increases slightly until you can run for a full minute maybe. also add a severity of injuries, cars and falls break bones only, zed attacks vary from slight to deep wounds, deep wounds bleed a lot and need bandages and stitches, slight is basically a scratch and just causes a tiny blood loss, and average just need bandages but will heal after time on their own. broken legs require a splint (wood+bandage) and make food and water have set amounts of hunger and thirst, not a full refill from a can of pop. 4) chernaus radio: give each player a radio at the start allowing direct chat between players in close proximity as well as tuning in to the radio station in the city which will be player controlled and has a generator that when full powers it for 24 hours maybe 10 jerry cans, whoever is in control can speak through his/her mic and broadcast throughout the server giving reports like if theres a couple of guys about to raid cherno who need help they send a message through the radio to the guys at the station who can say to everyone listening, they can aslo play music through it (connect it to grooveshark or something?) i know this is long winded and there will be things people dont like but please give a reason for it not just i dont like this idea and any extras anyone can think of to add on please comment them thank you for reading

    Lack of Decisions

    You have to create your own story. I found out that creating a group gives me constant satisfaction even when I die, lose vehicles, or lose shit to bugs. You have figure out what you want to do. Create your own story. I will say if you play yourself you will get bored. This doesn't apply to everyone. Think about it if you were wondering a post apocolpytic land myself murdering zombies you're likely to go crazy. In dayz, you'll probably just get bored. Or maybe go crazy. You have to use your imagination. For example, my team is preparing to give humanitarian aid to fort friendly, despite its high risk. Just for immersion really. If you make your goal to just finding equipment, you won't enjoy the game, because you will enevitably die and lose it. Gear should always be a short term deal on when deciding how you want to play the game. Pave your own road, carefully.
  4. All is good and well just for: - Vehicles seem to spawn less often. - Haven't found a single ghillie suit or camo suit yet in residential area's. Been looking for one for ages, but with no luck and i am not the only one. I have seen so much players with the same problem the i'm pretty sure its been changed or it bugged. Please shed some light on this. - When its day light some zombies spot you a little to fast but its actually very manageable when you move slow. The down side is that you open you self up for players. But hey, that's what Dayz is all about i guess. - Major FPS issues at some point when its day light.
  5. I wouldn't be against having third person on US 870. It would definitively help driving vehicles but not really a big deal. I also appreciate the fact that you made it an inverse timezone from US 10 since playing at night can be a bummer for those on eastern time. Also thanks for all your hard work with the servers always being up to date and smooth as butter. My friends and I stumbled upon US 10 in the first couple weeks of dayz and have not looked back since.

    Fear and Fire Starting

    Yes but scrap metal is more in need for vehicles. It actually serves a decent purpose. Flares however are completely useless in the day time, and at night it is only good to throw them FAR away from you and not get near them yourself. Using them to start a fireplace would make them more useful.
  7. I have a few suggestions Ive been thinking of some may or may not of been mentioned before. Add female zombies. Add kid zombies that are very eery. Focus on making them the freaky ones. Make zombies drop things that people would actually have on them......For instance Men and Women zombies should have a great chance to drop a Watch or painkillers by like 50% Also a 25% chance or so to drop matches or a knife and a slim 1% 5% or 10% chance or so to drop a Makarov or Revolver with 1 magazine of ammo (concealed carry is kinda commonish.) Kid zombies I can see having a can of soda or a bag of potato chips I can also see maybe a compass being rare on a kid. Doing this will add variety of zombies we are killing and also adding in more realism and desire to kill zombies. I would also really like to see a stamina bar so we cannot run for miles and miles and miles. In my opinion it would make vehicles more desirable for travel and not just storage. Also adding a stamina system to the bicycle would be nice. So it will not make the bike the GO TO way to travel. Also to compensate make the zombies have jogging speed or maybe a little less instead of zipping around but increase there numbers by a lot. Doing this would in my opinion make people want to work together a lot more. Ok now lets say you are camping on top of a building in elektro with 100 rounds of ammo. You see a dude with an AK. You shoot him and 20 zombies aggro and come to you. No big deal, you shoot them all and loot the dead guy. But if elektro being a high item drop place and it now instead has 2000 zombies littering the streets and you somehow made it to the city by yourself and onto the top of the building. If you see a dude with an AK........will you really shoot? Lets say you don't. And you yell to him "Yo dude up here!" Will he want to shoot you? Maybe. But the chances that guy wants to aggro 2000 zombies will be slim considering the numbers and the distance someone can RUN. So maybe you guys join up. You guys can now take on lets say 300 zombies with the ammo you guys have. Maybe moving to a smaller town with less drop rates but only 100 zombies would be a better idea. Item spawns in smaller towns and places would need to be changed to make smaller cities more desirable to loot to build up on ammo to eventually go to the bigger cities too. Another idea is a postage note. Simple small thing. The ability to make a note that you can put in someones tent, car, place or anything like that. All in all a simple non aggressive way to communicate with someone else without being at gun point. For instance. You come back from a journey to a town to get some supplies with your buddy. You come back to your car you got in the woods next to your tent. You look in your car and there is a postage saying. "Hey guys I saw your camp and noticed you didn't have any food so I dropped off some of my spare food. I have an ATV and a Tent up north on grid 014 and 077 if you guys want to join up drop me off a postage at my tent. In case you don't have any postage notes i left a few blank ones." So instead of finding a tent and saying well........if i stay here i might get shot......if I wait here until i see them and try to talk to them I may startle them and die. A postage would be a nice way to contact players with low hostility. It could also be a way to piss people off. Imagine the same scenario but instead the car is empty and the postage note says "You guys are dumb for putting this car here. I was able to see it from a mile away. Thanks for the guns and lewt. Chow!" And something that also ties in with the postage note idea is maybe a super rare chance to find lets say for instance on a male zombie out in the woods somewhere. On the note it says "To whom this may concern. My name is (insert name) I have set off to find my wife and little girl some food. The market down the road from us in Polana has been over run by zombies and we haven't had a bite of food in a week. I have left my firearms with my wife for protection and set off to find food. I dont know if I will make it back. If I am dead and my fate has been made please help my family they are in a small green house north of the Polana Market by the bus stop." So since you are in the woods just south of polana you set off and made it to the house. You make it inside to see a little zombie girl and mother and 2 other zombies. You kill them and the mother has a hunting rifle with 3 magazines and a 1911 with 4 magazines. The little girl has a backpack with a bottle of water and 2 empty bottles of water matches, painkillers, some bandages. Making about 500 different events like that from a note on a dead zombie or in a car out near a gas station or something like that will add great flavor to the game and add tiny little stories to the game with some reward. Also take bandages and painkillers away from random spawns and make them more house oriented to add desire to small towns. Also adding in a First aid kit that has 2 bandages some painkillers and antibiotics would be nice. Making them rarely spawn in houses would be realistic and helpful and add desire to loot small towns. And also adding in an increased chance to find small arms weapons in houses would also be more realistic and make small towns more desirable to loot.

A way to make the game scarier,or rather creepier is a better word for it,is to add more placeables all over the map.I just started Dayz from last night and was in the village called Krasnostov.Sun was just coming up and I realized that this is the most immersive town I have been to yet(can anyone point out a more detailed town?).Its like a war went on with barricades everywhere.I then see an enterable house in distance and when I get close I see that the grass has started to enter into the entranceway.It just looked like its been a year or so since anyone other than the infected has been in that house.And overall the grass everywhere was out of control it seemed. This got me thinking how enterable houses could tell a story in a way.Little kids bodies strewn all around,people hanging from rafters in barns,molding plates on tables as if the family as eating then got eaten themselves etc tc.Abandoned cars in strategic places,like down in a valley after person lost control driving off the cliff right next to it.And the military men you see strewn all over.When your crawling in grass thru a village and come upon a military dead person,this should be a military spawn point.Military weapons and equipment but of course at very low rates.I understand that spots like the NWAF are a necessary evil to allow the PVP players a battlefield but that sucks since I do not wanna be sniped.;)If instead I could walk up dirt roads deep in forests and stumble upon military vehicles with chance to spawn something good then I would be happy.
  9. The clan has some kind of personal relationship with one of Rocket's Dev's, this seems to mean to them that Rocket's rules dont apply to them. Several groups of players who have played on their server, specifically US 46, have noted that every time they raid an SAS camp, the server is quickly rebooted and everything they have taken inc vehicles that they have saved has magically reappeared at an unharmed SAS camp in the same place. Including myself, I have personally blown up the same camp in the same spot three times, only for a reset to take place. Yes it could be Hackers, but there are many other reasons posted in this thread that explain otherways of your camps being found, More than likely a Scout marking each camp they find then coming back and looting them all with their clan, It happens a lot and it's a good strategy. If one of your camps was raided, You would protect your others wouldnt you? Just incase those were going to get raided, so it makes sense to pull off all the raids on all camps found in just a few hours so you can get the Maximum amount of loot from it. And I also agree with another post in this thread, If you take all the vehicles in a server then you are ASKING to be looted, Playing for several hours not finding a vehicle, odds are someone has the vehicles, so I would normally gear up in my sniping gear with some others and go "Camp Hunting" and when we find a Vehicle a camp is always nearby!. ALSO, My main point of this post, We all know there's hacks out there, you just have to deal with it but for the love of god don't speak about it! What do you think it's going to accomplish? Rocket and there team KNOW about it, if you found a website with the hacks then perhaps send him a PM with the link? but never speak of any site hosting it because you basicly tell everyone here "Hey look free hacks right here guys! omg hackers are sooo gayyy waaa lost my stuff here more people can hack now!" If you mention hacks, then people will go looking for it, once they find it there will be more hackers obviously, My question to YOU is, How did you FIND the website? why are you ON a website that has hacks for Arma 2? You stated you see thousands of people viewing that section on the "cheat website" so you must have some access to that site, so you yourself have access to hacks if you wanted, Correct? All hackers will eventually get banned, Batteleye has stopped issueing Instant bans and now issue "Delayed bans" meaning when they have detected hacks they don't just ban your CD key there, they wait a day or a few, and when that one little person posts on this "cheat" site you visit and goes "HEY IT WORKS AND IM NOT BANNED" everyone uses it.. Then they all get flagged and in a matter of days / hours hundreads of players get banned. It's great isnt it? :) My advice to you is to stay far away from those sites, you may get tempted and one day may even go "Fuck it!" and try it out becuase you may have been killed by an obvious hacker, stressed and annoyed by it so you result to using hacks too, but I warn you, you will eventually get banned if you use hacks, so is it worth the risk? You'll just be another Script kiddie faggot if you do. (Sorry for any spelling mistakes, etc.)
  11. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ /agree it didnt start with hackers... it went: 1. grps (clans) farming servers for all items and vehicles and hiding them off map 2. solo players realizing ppl did this so they turned to scripting in an attempt to get something out of the game 3. other players realizing scripting was a common thing so they also started scripting to counter the scripters all of the above is because of stupid ppl that cant just simply play and test a game at alpha stage

    Hello there, right now im living like a real bandit, killing players on sight with 50. cal or dmr whatever I prefer. Ive found few vehicles and am hiding/hoarding them up. Doing this feels bad, so i decided so help new players out. now my question is where to find new players that need help and wont shoot me in the face the first time I see them?

I had one of those... until I tried to fill up a tractor, and for the life of me couldn't find the Refuel zone, (turned out because it was on a slope), anyway the brilliant idea I had was to crawl under Mr. Tractor, and low and behold the refuel tractor button appears, I was like alright... what happens if I click it since I can't crouch up.. Oh well I give my character merits for his determination to stand up, he really tried.. I got 1 shot by the refuel button D=. Don't Refuel vehicles from underneath!

    You're not weak, you've just a moral compass...I had one of those too. My first murder was an accident. Was flying solo for the first time ever. My team was all over the map, and I was at base camp. We were out of fuel, so I said I would make the run to the NE airfield and fill up, and also look for the vehicles that spawn around there. I approached the airfield carefully, and sat and watched for a while. Zed spawned in within 5 minutes, so I sat and watched one lone survivor hopping through the hangars. I sat and waited. I had enough space between him and I, and wasn't interested in killing him, or the loot he was gathering, I just needed fuel. I waited. I watched. Then, he booked it across the field and aggro'd a fair amount of Zed. I giggled to myself until I realized he was running right at me. I was terrified. I'm pretty sure he never saw me, and in my panic, I just started shooting the zed off of him. After two of the four fell dead, I could see him swiveling his head to locate where the shots where coming from (Good ol m4 SD). I attempted to hit one of the zed off him while he strafed past me, but I led a little too much and shot him. I've never had a game make me feel as much as this game does. Remorse. Anxiety. After my murder count ticked to one, I literally had to stop playing for a little bit. Killing, at least for me, hasn't really gotten any better either. I have to psych myself up for a kill, and then try and ride the high until the enemy is wiped out. My instincts scream for diplomacy, or for avoidance, but unfortunately, sometimes you just have to pull the trigger.

    there is a min and max count of vehicles on each server, I think its up to 20 per server, admins probably have already found all of them and hide it somewhere
  18. Let's think this through: 1. You have 3 camps, all along the top of the map. 2. On the day you checked them, or someone in your clan, they had been raided by unknown assailants. 3. Vehicles you had were shot up or destroyed, tents empty or gone (I assume here). An ATV was stolen???? How would you even know that? Doesn't matter anyway so moving on..... 4. You assume it was hackers, because no one had been to the camps in 5 weeks that you were aware of. Looks like you are just whining about another clan's ability to successfully carry out a multi-camp raid, or something similar. If you are still mad about it, then I suggest going on a player killing spree until you get the ones responsible. Otherwise, just start over like the rest of us who just try to survive another day in DayZ.
  19. ABOUT US Hello! My friend Sephka and I have started a new DayZ clan called BB Corp. (Blue Bandits Corp.) We are going to be playing the bandit play style, kill anyone that isn't us. We want to be productive and get things done, such as setting up multiple base camps on multiple servers, getting vehicles, and having fun while doing it. We are looking for players that can joke around, but can also be serious when we get in a firefight or raiding a high threat area, such as Stary or NWAF. We are also going to have different roles for each player, so that we don't have 5 people fighting over who gets to be the sniper. We hope to talk to you soon! MINIMUM JOINING REQUIREMENTS 1. Must have a quality mic (Not fuzzy, not a lot of background noise) 2. Must be able to participate and play a lot (Not gone for days at a time) 3.     CGU CLAN HAS RIGGED SERVER 450!!!

    I am a new member of CGU as of yesterday and I assure you they are not cheating. We have been constantly raiding air bases and such to get the supplies. Every one in CGU is butt hurt that people took our vehicles. then we killed someone got it back then the server crashed and we lost alot of stuff. :( TO my knowledge Ewrawr Was making his way back to camp and saw you guys looting us. So that was sad. We all scaled the top half of the map last night searching for our vehicles but like i said. Server=Crash. Also i enjoy all the map markers you made all around our map saying how trash we are.We dont cheat. We loot. WE have 16 plus members of cgu i believe. With everyone looting and bringing back to camp thats how we got goods. Keep in mind this game has been out for awhile. Im sorry that you think we hack. But this is no rigged server. WE also have server logs to prove it :/ sorry bud your argument is invalid. in fact we thought you were hacking at first until we checked the server logs cause alll of our camps had been found. But if our server does get black listed we have proof of nocheatingwhat so ever.

    NZ 19 under attack

    No seriously lol iv seen people turned into nuns and now cows.... people ported into the sky and ocean and this happened today :( these guys came from no place and there is no way they could have known were we where at that specific time in 225km map .... there was almost nobody-online they came right for us and right for our truck like they were tracking it ! and i know hackers can see vehicles locations. And in 1 day we lost both major bases ... worse thing is we thought we killed the guy who raided our fisrt base and after we did the server started to lag and another guy we know in our team speak was on the coast and someone was spawning helis and insta killing people. I know this is alpha, its all about testing bugs and working it all out. But ESP, Godmode, Telporting and spawning items is not alpha or beta testing it is assholes runing the game for us testers my clan of which 22 people all up play together on DayZ worked for weeks to procure a great deal of stuff and in one day hackers took it all. Whats the point of playing "seriously" whats the point at all when nothing you do will count, i mean half the games alure is this but not when the other side cheats in ways that cant be countered. I have spent days playign this game, lost sleep and negletcted all sorts as it just so much dam fun, but when stuff like this takes place i look back and go wtf was it all for ? i am as of now the sole survivor of these attacks, i retained my things on person but the rest of my clan on at the time of the first and second attack lost everything incluing both our camps. Battleye sucks... and there are no real counter mesures to stop these scripters and BS bastered that are purchasing fucking trainers.... so anyone can do it.. FFS put something in the code that stops it for good ill suffer any pains i have to as a player so long as it means we are all on equil ground.

    Increasing challenge over time

    how is that the opposite, maybe i worded it wrong. what I mean is that as the game progresses, players may receive missions or objectives that are very difficult to achieve, they might require a lot of preparation, such as reclaiming a set of buildings or a lab or something from the infected. once the area is cleared then significantly more zombies start to spawn outside of the cleared buildings, making escape back to the safety of the trees dangerous. Later game players would experience much higher levels of zombies in the server after completing objectives. I don't think creating a kill count or scoreboard will help. who keeps count when you are just surviving. But if you were forced out of the safety of the trees and the hills by the promise of gear only obtainable by completing objectives set in game and defeating what would essentially be a large horde of zombies, then the risk reward aspect of the game would continue to a higher level. Things like radio communication, GPS, satellite Phones, Working vehicles, Safety deposits, Store rooms for food etc etc. What I was trying to say was Nobody would want to stay in the hills eating goats for the rest of their lives. what they want is to get back to normality. That should be an ongoing challenge for late game players and the rewards should be fitting to the huge risk the player takes.
  23. So many people cry on the forums, me included that this game is unbalanced and full of crap. But not no more my friends. I have figured it out, the magic of the game, i have found it! Right now i have everything i could ever want, so i have decided to do just that, hide all my good items, and go have fun, i found about 4 vehicles in the last couple dayz, im going to take the least rare (probably the tractor) and high tail it around and see how long it takes until i get shot dead, or i could go around on a high population server and shoot people, see how long it takes for me to die, and ill be a good sport about it, if you do kill me i will wait until im actually dead and let you take my hard earned gear, because i have realized the true meaning of Dayz, DIE DIE DIE And you may think im egging people on, well i am, i have a hidden stash with the best of everything that no one but me will ever find, and in the future if i ever want everything i can always go back, grab my stuff and resume being a forest hermit with everything i need to survive out of civilization. I hope you become just as enlightened as i have, the simple trick is, not to give a shit, if you dont have high hopes, when you die you wont be mad, you will shrug and go back to looting, over and over and over again, because thats what Dayz is, a walking simulator.
  24. tbh its best just to test a few out, ones that you can always get into, and with a difficulty that you like.also if you plan to go solo its probably a good idea not to join a clan's server as some will hunt players in packs or horde vehicles (not all clans might i add)
