I think there are too many duplicated items spreading around the servers. upon the next update. I suggest that all players gear is removed and all tents and vehicles are removed, in order to reset the mod to a stable testable state.

Why does this game get worse with every patch?
Colditz replied to woofed's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I am experiencing similiar problems, sometimes when I login I either die instantly and respawn with nothing in debug plains just to get killed by a sniper there or just drop unconscious for 5 whole minutes when I login, furthermore barbed Wire/Tank Traps need to be looked at again, they produce graphical artifacts from certain angles and are used JUST to grief, I have yet to see them being used as a Fortification of some sort. On top of that, deathmatch is really getting out of hand, so is the spawncamping near the coast. Vehicles on servers are almost never there because a Group/Clan takes "all" of them to hide them safely away. Zombies still lag hardcore on almost every server I play on and sometimes hit you or even worse, K.O. seconds after their death still. The Entrance of the ATC tower is still extremely ficklish to get in (sometimes a broken bone seems to be a must, the rubble ist just too big for the entrance). Now, a lot of these things are done by the Community but I'd still like to see some progress towards getting the zombies right and the "fortifications" looked after, because travelling 10km just to find completely barricaded barracks with no player on the server is a total rage inducer. Still a great game imho, just stay the hell away from other survivors if you're in love with your beans. -
If everybody jumped off a cliff, would you? Though, I agree, hacking is out of control at the moment. Priceless and I have lost vehicles and our lives to hackers before. However it is really not hard to gear up, especially if you kill somebody with gear. I guess not everybody has that kind of luck. Priceless is our murdering son of a bandit, and I'm pretty good at finding people's camps. (It's rather boring, but I'm patient...) Basically, dieing is part of the game anyway. I'm not really a rage-quitter kinda person. Maybe once in a blue moon. We're pretty well equipped in Crashed Chopper and Barracks gear. http://www.youtube.com/user/kyriel

2 players looking for a small to medium Group of Clan to join as we are starting to get bored of running around just the two of us or solo. I've been playing for around about 5 weeks and my mate has been playing for much longer. What we have: Reasonably good gear Good knowledge of the map Good knowledge of DayZ/ArmA 2 Skype but can download any voip software Both over 21 (not always mature though :P) Not too attached to our gear Loyalty, we aren't going to kill you for your gear or vehicles Experience with unfriendly players, raiding camps, making camps and fixing vehicles I am pretty confident with a sniper though just as happy running around buildings with my M4 Both based in the UK What we are looking for: English speaking Preferably playing on a 3DP server An active Group or Clan playing regularly between 2200-0600 GMT (2100-0500 UTC) though we do play afternoons often. No Cheaters Loyalty, don't want stabbed in the back as soon as we find something shiny, we offer you the same Good sense of humour, want to enjoy playing as a group equally not have someone trying to give me orders every 5 minutes If you have a Group/Clan looking for a couple more competent players PM me, message here or my Skype is Lickaholic, feel free to ask any questions you have.

I'm game with removing the sniper rifles. As long as we're removing vehicles too.

Ok, i admit i am FLYING an helicopter but i have nothing to do with the " spawning " of those vehicles, i was looting Stary sobor when i saw UH-1H helicopter on the field and it had engine destroyed ( some kind of crash landing i assume ) i repaired it and started flying. I havent spotted any fires but i have seen A-10 warthogs also, so there was deffinetly an hacker in the server. Please dont accuse me from something i havent done.

A kill tuning mechanic from a PVPer's perspective.
zipper replied to Lady Kyrah's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
So what you are saying is, after I get all the gear and vehicles I can, the only thing I am left to do is sit in the woods and eat and drink once every 2 hours? No thanks. Why is it bad: It's adding some form of karma to the game and i hate karma, but at the same time it only affect the time between two lives. It is, in essence some form of punishment. It lack realism, the effect is realistic (fear of death, hesitation to kill) but it's not the best "cause". Bandit system (karma system) was removed because it wasn't working how it was intended to work. They will not punish peoples playing styles. Removing realism from a military sim is a bad road to start going down. Edit: Guy shoots at me because he wants my gear. He misses and I shoot back and kill him. Now if I get killed I have to wait 5 minutes to respawn? That isn't very logical. -
What does everyone do in DayZ's "end game"?
t1337dude replied to DayZPvP.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
For me, endgame has two different phases; loot acquisition and PvP. If you don't like to PvP, you can attempt to hoard valuable items and vehicles. Alternatively you can try to do nice things for people, it's just a lot more difficult than it is to kill them. -
i cannot play/edit this mission because files were deleted , dayz weapons, vehicles and equip . Is what i get when i try and log in a server please help fix this.
-
I don't see why not. It's a military zone anyway.... frankly I'm surprised at the lack of more armoured vehicles, derelict or otherwise. Nice way to be a total jerk. ~Sol

I completely agree. Full tent/vehicle wipe and either fix the issue promptly or disable tents/vehicles until it is fixed.

On my server, I have scheduled restarts every 6 hours. I noticed that during schedule restarts, and even some restarts I do manually, when I come back into the server, all my vehicles and tents are gone. Tents that have been here for days disappear, as well as vehicles. When I restart the server again, manually, all these tents and vehicles spawn into their regular position. Can anyone explain this? My second question: I keep putting stuff into my tents, then saving the tents, but then the items keep on poofing. I have one tent that I set up a week ago, and it managed to save everything I put inside it, but all my new tents keep poofing items. Is the problem that my server has desynced from the hive? The last couple of times I've put stuff in my tents, it was after 4+ hours of play, with no server restart. Should i bet putting stuff in my tents at the beginning of a restart or something? Thanks.

My last few deaths: 1) Five days ago. A man teleports into the NE airfield hangar behind me, playing "Hip to be Square" over ingame voicecoms, and wielding a hatchet. He is wearing Rocket's custom skin (woodland camo and a red beret), and is completely invulnerable to bullets. He kills both me and my buddy with his hatchet. 2) Four days ago. We encounter another squad who are moving around the map with both a helicopter, and a UAZ following underneath. We determine later that they're mostly crash-site hunting, but our squad comes across a crash site before they manage to. Unfortunately, they show up while we're still there. We unload on their helicopter and it flies away damaged. A minute later, we start dying one by one by an invisible killer at point blank range. It's blatant. Though they don't communicate or taunt us vocally, we can HEAR them walking around us before we are killed. 3) Three days ago. We find some new players, and form a small group. "Let's go to Zelengork!", we decide. As we're moving through the woods, a player in a ghillie suit appears behind our lead man. My squadmates are quick to the trigger, though, and unload on him with apparently no effect. They call hacker and begin aborting out of game as soon as they see he's not dying from bullets. I don't take the warning and decide to test out this invulnerability for myself. I do not survive this encounter. 4) I don't play for a few days, depressed about dying so many times in a row to hackers. Finally, I log in yesterday and create a character, intent on finding all the starting equipment again. I run my way up to Rog castle where I encounter barbed wire over the entrance. I step over it, and check out the place, finding a revolver. As I'm heading back downstairs to the exit, I see a player in a ghillie suit and carrying an AS50 on the other side of the barbed wire. "Come on out, I'm friendly!", he tells me. No thank you. He's running and walking into the barbed wire, but doesn't seem to know about stepping over it like I did. He's very chatty, too, and tells me he can see everyone on the map, including their vehicles, and is invulnerable. He even invites me to try killing him, and turns his back (I wouldn't show myself to him until he did), and he's not lying. Bullets to any part of him did nothing but make a blood spatter. He soon decides to leave and attempts to spawn a Humvee, but spawns a rubber boat on accident. He laughs at the mistake and shoots it up with his AS50 while helpfully explaining that it's okay, because he has unlimited ammunition. Well, thank goodness...? I hide like a coward until he's gone. This is the only encounter where I don't die at the end of it. Honestly, I don't know what to think about this, anymore. One week ago, I would have made the argument that hacking was extremely rare in this game, and would have told people not to worry about it. In the past week, though, I've died ONLY to hackers, and judging from my experiences of the last week it's seemed to have become much more pervasive. I even had the good fortune to have found a the holy grail (an L85 AWS) at a crash site yesterday, and am now doubting that it was such good luck after all, since I'm terrified at the idea of a cheater teleporting in behind me and killing me without even the chance to fight back. Unless my last week's encounters are just a random fluke, I'm definitely in the camp for thinking there needs to be a much better way of policing these people, now.

I'm not sure if this has been answered before and if it has I wasn't able to find the answer anywhere, but I was wondering if anyone knows if vehicles/tents and the gear stored in them survive through servers patching to newer versions of DayZ and newer betas. The server I mainly play on has been on an older patch and I've aquired quite a bit of gear on it, and I'm wondering if It'll still be there after the server finally updates to the newest patch/beta...

Server Restarting Questions
premiumkrap replied to thecableman121's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
yeah. restart it again and it will usually load the tents and vehicles back up. -
When tents and vehicles doesn't show after a restart it's usually related to hive and them not being loaded correctly. Another restart usually solves it. Items poofing can be several things, it can be a bug, delay to hive causing it not to save, you forgetting "save vehicle/tent". The most common is data not being saved to hive in time. There are also purging done during the maintenance of hive so unused vehicles and tents get removed/reset.

[DayZMod] The Dayz Statistics thread!
Bludy replied to Ander (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Announcements & Info
it happened to me to spawn there, and yes, sometimes i noticed signs of people, like a tent or like i said before, vehicles. but i never found barbed wire or tank bullshit of farmes and hoppers.. -
Out of my last 10 deaths, only 2-3 have been legitimate PvP kills or zombie deaths. I've been spawned out in debug with nothing. I've logged in to find that I was dead, even though I had logged out in a tree over 1km from any structure. (my corpse and tents were untouched when I ran back) I've been killed by vaulting over something. I've been killed by combat loggers. I've been killed by players with teleport hacks. I've been killed by players with wall hacks. I've been massmurdered. I've been teleported into the air 100 feet to fall to my death. I've been in vehicles that just randomly exploded.

Adding such a thing would slightly ruin the needing to feed imo, I play with a clan we have about 3-8 people on when we play, Due to that many we have numerous vehicles and tent locations. If i'm ever on solo, I spend that time, gathering supplies, i hut animals for meat so that we don't need to spend time doing it, Can use the large amount the heal up and save blood bags there fore saving hospital runs. If anything, I think the game needs to be made sl ightly more difficult some how.

then why not remove tents? And have vehicles have no inventory?

Who are we? The Boys are a group of players, more commonly referred to as bandits by most, who either know each other in real life or from other games. The name originated from when we had no idea what to call our server, so we asked the guy responsible of inputting the name to put anything. The Boys is what he came up with. We're all from and living in the UK and our home server is UK1337. The server is maintained by us and we aim to provide an enjoyable experience not just for our team members, but for the general server population. We are a somewhat casual group of players though we do take the game seriously enough when the situation desires. What do we expect from you? First and foremost we expect a decent level of English. As stated, the four of us are all from the UK though we have no problems with players from anywhere else in Europe, or the world for that matter, if you adhere to this criteria. Our main method of communication is through TS3 so a working microphone and access to this software is a necessity. We also expect some maturity from your part. I'm not going to slap down age restrictions as I believe maturity doesn't always develop with age. This means that if your only intentions are to grief us and want to use us for supplies then look elsewhere. Abiding by the game rules and general playing morality is very important to us. We're not interested in cheaters, scripters or hackers and we're as equally disinterested in players who ALT-F4 during combat, abuse game exploits and server hop. Generally anything that would provide you with an unfair advantage. You should not be in it for the loot. It's true that everyone enjoys obtaining new guns and kit but this shouldn't be your sole reason for joining. We also don't have tents and vehicles full of endless supplies ready to hand out to you so bear this in mind. What can you expect from us? I think most importantly you can expect a fun and fair group of players to play with as well as maintaining a good amount of activity. We're a tight-knit group of four already so we're always having a laugh whilst playing. You'll also be able to frequent our server in which you'll be able to call home. Setting the laughs and jokes aside, we're also serious when it comes down to it. If we're moving to a location and we spot an enemy nearby we'll put our game faces on. We tend to come out on top during conflict and this is from maintaining that serious approach to it. Expanding on what I briefly mentioned in the previous point about coming out on top; we're also decent players. We all possess enough skill and game knowledge to outplay opponents in most situations though this is something we're constantly striving to improve upon, and even more so after inviting more players to our ranks. Final words Just to wrap up the post, if you're interested in joining us then please feel free to get in touch through any of the methods of contact that'll be provided at the end of the post. Either apply via our website, get in touch with me via forum PM or add me on Steam. If you do the latter then make sure you tell me who you are. Thanks for the read and good luck! http://theboys.enjin.com Steam: [email protected] Server: UK1337

All the vehicles are pretty fragile or just deathtraps. My last character died because a zombie punched my bus, only decent vehicle in this mod is the bicycle because it doesn't explode.

Maybe not crafting, but combining, the way you can already repair cars and other vehicles.

A little debate! The psychological effects of murder.
noobfun replied to Lady Kyrah's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
wrong way round, the more integrated we become the more people get included in the in-group, hurting the in-group is bad, what men arnt animals? you need to go look up the deffintion of religeon and try that again they are more likley to act like pack animals and revert to smaller in-group structures people do kill just to kill in the real world agreed, its become the norm its become the socially acceptable way to play for the mass of the society id bet good money you would act the same, alone faced with hostile groups, youd be the samethe fact you can tell the differance between a game and reality means nothing, your neurons fire the same if its an imagined thing like the game or reality its self, the removal from a social group of peers means you dont have to moderate your behaviour as much to fit within the groups dynamics, if your grouped and on voip with players that shoot first your more likley to join them in the action, play with a similar group that prefers to avoid and your more likley yourself to avoid when with the group and for a period of time afterwards there was an interesting post last week about a guy who's friends started playing, they turned into the asshat camp a roof in chunro for lulz asshats we all know and love, then they became obsesed with vehicles desperate to get them doing what ever it took to do it, and arguing like bitches between them selves which almost ended in several fire fights within the group, so he came up with a solution, he could have just not grouped with them anymore but his solution was frag the lot of them to teach them a lesson then stop grouping with them , people offered to help but as he had invted them to the game it was his problem so he was gonan fix it some people dont like admitting that inside Trevor the ape is having fun and doing what he does, hence the numerous amounts of 'i shoot because i was shot' attempts to justify thier actions to what they percieve as thier peer group in a way that wont get them ostracised by said group, rather then just come out and say 'guy was heading towards me i didnt wanan die and loose my gear so i shot him in the face and robbed him, it was exciting'
