  1. So I've been playing DayZ for about a week now and I have yet to see any vehicles whatsoever. At first I was just trying to get a damn bicycle, but now I check every vehicle spawn to see if there is anything at all. I haven't seen a heli crash site yet either :( Am I the only one? Do vehicle spawns have anything to do with stuff server side?

I work Tuesday - Saturday 9pm - 3am so I am a little tired during the day, but I play as much as I am able. Also, on my days off (Sunday and Monday) I rest a bit on Sunday and play most of both days. Experience In Dayz: I started a couple months or about a month ago and have non-stopped played. I have traveled around the map and worked with most of the weapons and vehicles that you come across as well as the tools that you can find in DayZ. Have You Worked In A Team Before?: I have not work in an organized team before, but I have a few friends that I have met in game or over the forums that I do play with. They are a good group of people and we work well together (sometimes) so I consider them a bit of a team but never anything organized such as a squad or something along those sorts.     To see hacks in games is normal for me. WoW is a horde pvp botterzone, CoD wallhack and aimbot, BF 3 aimbot, Darkfall was a massive aimbot,speedhack fly through walls etc. area. J: The server log just went nuts, I think someone just tried to spawn 8 vehicles. M: Where? J:Logs won't tell you. M: Who is trying to do that? J: I don't know the logs won't tell you. Option 1. Boot everyone and try and isolate hackers = User Rage. Option 2. Close the server until hackers get bored = User Rage. Try to have some understanding here folks, Jaeger doesn't sit on a golden admin thrown chuckling as we all die to hackers, he is getting killed as much as everyone else since he is one of the few admins that actively participates in the game. He does whatever he can, whenever he can. If you lost a tent or your camp yes that sucks dick but that is an ARMA II // Battleeye issue, not Rocket's and certainly not jaegers and whilst he is doing everything he can to help the admin tools he has are limited to say the least.     I'm amazed, this seems like a very good idea to fix all that hoarding and crap. But you know what'll happen, the people who manage to get the first vehicles will begin to hoard them, and then it'll be the same situation, unless the vehicle limit is like 50.

Hmmm interesting... did you filmed how you guys knew where all the possible vehicles scattered in the map that we owned were located? and how you found every single one of them that we hardly got and were pretty well hidden (not included the ATV´S which were in a really bad place)? and how you guys got to the same place like 5 minutes after your death´s fully armed with SD weps and ghillies (which are absolutely hard to get or even impossible at the current state of the mod says, the ghillies of course) ohhh and did you filmed how you guys manage to get like 20 satchel charges to blow up like 100 meters of forest around our camp? we saw you guys doing weird stuff like 3 times after the third one was enough! funny that you guys as soon as i spawned like 1 minute later after logging in, you all were like 20 meters away from me in the woods with ghillie suits and jumped on me! and another coincidence... i think i heard about some hacks updates the same day it all happened and it was impossible to detect scripts! Yeahimh, Kaj and Hillbilly were all scripting and dont deny it! if you were planning to come to our server and do whatever you guys wanted, well forget about that! play fairly or get the hell out! there are enough scripters in the game already! and just to let you know! after i started playing the day after i killed myself so i wouldnt carry your filthy scripted items! PS: Funny how you guys can know that it was me without Tags inside the game and with just 1 minute after logging inside the server, please... just stop using those lame scripts and play fairly.

    Simply, Rope

    I suggest there be a new item which is quite simply a coil of rope. It has the same spawn rate as Camping tents but only spawns in barns/agricultural spawn locations. Naturally, it sits in the toolbelt. Toolbelt: Allows you to pull vehicles.. Very very slowly but surely. This is so when you are driving a vehicle on low fuel and you run out in the middle of the road, you can pull the vehicle to the treeline to hide it. Allows you to hogtie unconscious players. When hogtied, a players view is almost like being prone and the unconscious meter still empties but when emptied the player still cannot move. Hogtied players would be able to have their gear looted as if they were dead. They would still be able to be dragged, or perhaps carried. After 5 min (The time can be changed. Please tell me what you think) the hogtied player gains the ability to "struggle free" by pressing the action key. Doing so would free them from the rope and they would be able to stand up, similar to regaining consciousness. Any player may "Retie bonds" to reset the 5 min timer or "Untie Bonds" to let the player free. Allows you to bind players. Binding is like hogtying in the way that it disables a player but only their hands are bound. They may still walk, run, step over everything. They may not manage their inventory but they can view it and view loot on the ground, just not pick it up. Players get the ability to struggle free after 10 min of being bound. Unlike hogtying, you may bind players from any position. Bound players may be hogtied at any time, regardless of stance. Binding takes the same amount of time as combining mags, taking painkillers, eating, etc. Your player is a competant military officer and they are able to tie someone up fast. Rope up an animal. Roping an animal would loop the rope around the animal and cause it to follow the player that roped it. There is no particular reason for this but there are lots of possibilites that could be implemented later like procreating animals, hiding an animal until you may gut it or even using a cow as cover. It opens up a lot of possibilities. If you have any feedback, criticism (of the constructive kind) or further ideas, please comment.

    It sounds like the admin logged in right after you raided. He sees his camp got raided, he hear a truck in distance or try to head south to see if he can find the missing truck. He's lucky and catch you down. The admin have probably looted the weapon from a hacker. Note: You can keep items that you take from hackers. Also what you call duplicated items might be non intentional if you take items from vehicles/tent and you forgot to save it, it will return back after next server restart. Few days ago me and my friend raided some other servers, we were lucky and stumbled upon some camps. In one of them there was like 7 ghillies and we found some ghillies in other camps too as well. At the end of the day we had 12 ghillies suits. So there is many ways to get that amount of ghillies. By the way you say the admin shoots from an AS50? You're probably right, he use the AS50 TWS which you saw earlier on. The AS50 TWS has thermal sight, then i doesn't matter if its day or night. He can see you anyway. This is not me.   11. Required: * US519 * Right now 4:55am my time (Halifax Nova Scotia) * Heard lots of shots and people driving around vehicles in cherno. I am atop the factory sort of place overlooking the apartments and hospital. Very tme these guys fire, someone dies on the server. I was watching and listening but could not see anything only hear it (like it was the other side away from the apartments). Suddenly a couple of shots rang out and I got the 'in shock' sort of graphic on the HUD - even there was nobody in sight (I have an acog assault rifle). Just as I was getting a screenshot, I turned in to a chopper site sort of zombie and started killing myself. I disconnected quickly in an attempt to keep my long lasting character alive. Edited to add - I notice all my kill stats have reset to 0 when I changed to the zombie. I am about to log in to a different server to see what the damage is and potentially grab further screenshots. One other thing of not is that it took a very long time on creating character and generally getting on to this server.

    I have a TS server that I play on. We are just a bunch of guys that cruise around and have a bit of fun, nothing serious. I have been in plenty of buses and other vehicles with them, and looking at those vids above... i wouldn't particularly enjoy being made to drop my weapons and made to fight in an arena.

    Hackers in US 1220

    So on US 1220 there were 5 or 6 hackers on, flying around in A-10 Warthogs, and also spawned at LEAST a GAZ (a tractor and 2 motorcycles were near Balota Airfield as well). Personally, I found a Huey on the ground west of Elektro. I did not get in ANY vehicles, and a bunch of TF guys were in the server as well( and disappeared when the flying was over). Currently, 2 A-10 crash sites are north of Elektro, as it appears all of them were instabanned in midair. The admin will be notified shortly (he actually advertises his DayZ name on the forums for such events).

    Control Old Industry

    Theres some really good threads (although few and far between) on fort/base building and focuses towards permafixtures. Base Building/Endgame Suggestion- Shipping Crates! by Bribase (a recent goodun) Vintage Threads: Expanded Camps by Stewe231(hesco permafixture cred:lithiumfox), Player Placeable Camp Structures by Land Squid Others: Make a fort/base by Aerthemis, A few fortification ideas by slash71, Construction by Ice Cold Killa, Fort Construction in later development by ShadoX But i think there should also be a focus on fortifying/controlling old industries.Which would not only offer extended long group activities with a pay off, but would also offer arms of strength for groups which would either be fought for or bargained with. Which in effect will be player designed safe zones. Compiled a similar thread for smaller bandit groups and lone survivors: Control Rural Industry Group activities Electric grid: Power Plants, electric grid, and Generators V3.3 by Bullfrog Coal Mines (Also leading towards controlling Trains) Coal Mines - Problems with Head (Extra environment, items; linked threads) Other mines could be introduced; harvesting for metals for use in factory (see factories below), or other potentials such as flint from the Quarry for an alternative spark Suggestion: Flint Lighter by BIttermace But theres so many other things, Hospitals could be controlled for their equipment, certain injuries should be much more debilitating and require access to materials/equipment in hospitals. EDIT: Ultimate Goal by Rhodes is a thread providing also other activities including in the hospital, primarily the production of medicines. Need Medical Assistance? We can help. by Dr Wasteland MD Groups like Trusted Medics of the Wasteland [TMW], might be interested in this, especially if mechanics were opened that really made you aware of your health and condition. Some of this equipment may still not be out of the reach of groups wishing to set up remote forts, ambulances could house some of this equipment, and be moved to base location. If severe weather conditions become an aspect of the game, AC towers should be repaired for their radar equipment to give hints of coming weather conditions or (if this thread on mist/fog{airborne virus} being attached to large hordes of zeds is implemented Airborne Virus V3.5 by Bullfrog) large scale zed activity. Radio Towers should be potentially broken (repairable) for long range use of radios. Or for pirate radio stations XD - World Building: DayZ Radio by deathdanish in which case i think most clans would be fighting over that due to music tastes XD or for boasting their dominance on the server to any lone wolves or ambitious new groups looking to settle on a new server. Garages should be introduced, in which any extra modifications to vehicles must be conducted there (rather then posting my original thread on this which went off topic due to its source, heres pictures of real life modded vehicles used by drug gangs narco tanks! https://www.google.c...FHoa_0QWCgoGgAw) Factories should be used for customizing weaponry, i know ive seen threads/discussions on this before, not to mention repairing degrading weapons (which i think should be possible anywhere) Anything beyond repairing, including modding or creating weapons should be done in factories with the necessary tools and equipment. Not mention also using them to recycle old shells perhaps and remake bullets. But these tasks could be split into different types of factories, further splitting the balance of power, factory accommodating for weapons and ammunition or metal works for melting ore and crafting parts (whether for vehicles/item mods or other repairs in other industry "targets") Id like to see if anyone disagrees OR has other possible "industry targets". The idea is they serve as source of power for a group that can be used to negotiate with other groups which dominate sectors of the server and their associated industries. Or fight over ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: There has also been numerous threads on traps; What kind of traps can you think of? by xTLRxPrototype is a recent goodun encouraging sandbox thoughts on trap making, which is what they should be. Base Defenses ( Document included ) by ZombieGrin is a more established thread attempting the same creativity Factories could provide locations for creating complex traps but also acquiring the basic ingredients for traps; mainly tripwire and industrial glue. These could be used to create a range of creative traps providing defences for bases whilst removing the element of players familiarising themselves with common set piece traps. EDITS Seen discussion/threads on contaminated water before. Give Waterpumps random chance to be contaminated by Denkkraft More Infections - A use for Antibiotics by Chrisbes If this was implemented, and affected gameplay enough that it became a major focus of survival. Then I think it would plausible to introduce Water Treatment Plants that could also serve as another area of control. Soda cans would obviously be the main choice for peeps who cannot guarantee clean water, or an option allowed so you can boil water (discussed in threads), but I think if soda cans were made a lil rarer or made so that they are not as an effective relief as water, and introduction of the option of boiling water (an obvious long and potentially attention drawing hazard) then I think this could balance with a facility which produces guaranteed clean water. Which given the nature of reduced "thirst quenching" of soda cans, could give a real incentive to take the facility over. These could potentially be connected to Sewers, Explorable underground Sewers? by nothinginsight could connect up to large networks underneath cities. Although no loot would spawn, they do provide access to areas with temp safety from snipers whilst giving the game a close combat feel in areas as much as there is open conflict outside. Small groups might settle there, unable to meet an objective but close to supplies before organizing. If they were linked to some of the (city) buildings mentioned, it would provide different entrances to secure, or escape routes. Dont think they should expand beyond the reach of city, and possibly only a single line to a water treatment plant. Credit also given to OW22 :') Seeing as so many peeps are keen on the idea of a Trading Post (Survivor trading camp by alaness), a Police Station / Prison would be ideal for this, although not containing the kind of facilities that the other buildings offer. It does offer a very secure building, which could be easily defended, but also... has metal detectors!! This type of building would be perfect for groups such as Freeside Trading Co Freeside Trading Co. Membership Renewal by Kurkistan which could effectively force peeps through the metal detectors if they wish to enter and trade. Also could have in built radio system providing wider coverage or easier access to radio towers, also benefiting trading groups wishing to be kept up to date with developments on the server (or a reason to collaborate, control radio towers themselves XD) Oil Rigs could be a whole different objective linked to Refinery's that i would imagine would be of the same scale as electric grid, although probably much safer. A refinery could be on one island for example, promoting groups to use boats and Islands more. Further the electric grid and refinery/oil rig would have to be somewhat independent from each other, but potentially self sustaining if linked. One group doing this seems very unlikely, but this kind of objective arrangement could easily accommodate two large clans on a server.
  15. I see FAR TOO MANY threads stating they found a large camp supposedly the admins and they raid it then get banned. This is just annoying now. It's usually text and you have no proof! Get proof then it'll be worth it to take action, the accusations I've read are absurd e.g. I came across a large camp 20 to 30+ tents a heap of vehicles and weapons and shortly after I raided it I was banned without reason! BAN US++++ (+ being the ID or any other region) These threads are just spam a lot of other people including I would love to see these threads be deleted if they do not have proof. I may extend upon this in a later thread or I may not but you can see that It's pissing me off how these idiots just spam spam spam crappy made up stories and I'm not saying that they're all fake but the majority is, that they spam these stupid stories with no proof of them being banned and ends up them being butt hurt over them dying at a large camp and lossing their gear along with not gaining the gear they found. (FULLY RAGE POST!!)
  16. It was a valiant attempt Max. I am only glad neither of us are battle loggers like your friend Androedia97. I got behind that tree and bandaged and shot you off that bike. I would have more respect for you if you hadn't first tried to shadily trade, under an alias we now know, for vehicles to get on to our server only to harass us. You are definitely persistent however, and I do look forward to seeing you this weekend.

    Constantly avoiding fights and pilfering things for no other reason than to pilfer them is stupid, and a waste of time. Not true banditry, just being annoying. Your "camp" with your "stolen" vehicles was less than 2km from the original set up. Not sure what you are hoping to accomplish. EDIT: also, found a pile of Mk SD ammo very close to your camp in the trees...interesting as that does not spawn in game. I really wouldn't put it past you to be using a script to find the vehicles in the first place.

    But... firefights happening over vehicles is awesome! I do agree that certain low level vehicles should have faster respawn times. It would be nice if bikes were a little easier to find. If the respawn points could be more randomized, it would keep people from server hopping to find a vehicle. More respawn points (tons more) but a lower percent chance of a vehicle actually spawning there, like with loot. If only a few points had a vehicle respawn every few days, it would be pointless to search all the spots looking for a vehicle on reset.
  19. as one of the assholes who tries to take out as many people as i can, i can say that several newbies have managed to kill me over the last week with lesser gear then got their hands on some primo gear. sure, the 6 before him may have failed, but the guy who managed to sneak up on my sniping spot and 1shot me with a crowbar deserved every bit of loot he got from my body. Yes i agree that this game facilitates trolling. But after "winning" at surviving there wasnt many other options to enjoy the game. My crew of half a dozen or so has a dozen vehicles and tents loaded with gear from scavenging towns, other peoples camps and choppers. A couple of times our base was found and we would have to spend hours relocating to another base in the middle of nowhere. Any time we want to go anywhere it takes half an hour before your at your destination ready to do w/e. Add into that unannounced server restarts and our biggest enemies are wasted time and losing vehicles to the server. We got so good at not dying we didnt actually do anything for hours on end and the only way we died was to hackers. The only real options we have left for fun are -mess around with the vehicles in a dangerous manner, ie we have a death rally planned to travel most of the map. whoever reaches the end alive wins. We will lose many vehicles in the attempt. -Start from scratch. when you die, dont get a buddy to pick you up and give you gear. this goes against my nature as i always want to use every tool at my disposal. I ended up joining some friends just getting into the game and have had some fun ( apart from people camping the hills with 107's cutting short our adventures) -have fun directly at other players expense, im not just talking about a KOS policy but deliberately killing people or messing with them for the fun of it. I wont shoot people as they spawn or hack though, thats crossing the line. Conning players has got to be the hardest but most entertaining way to be a bandit, sure shooting someone will piss them off, but what about tricking them? Making them think you are friendly then betraying them can be hilarious and there is no penalty if you succeed. There is always the same penalty for failure though. I think we should steer away from nerfing bandits and focus more on adding things for survivors. Give people a reason to want to work together other then another gun and potential liability. Add teamwork stuff to the game, Some sort of reward for killing zombies maybe, The ability to boost onto a high roof, Greater ability to save someone from death, things like blood transfusions. A bounty system for killing bandits, encouraging a third faction to develop... hunters.

    Just to make things a little more interesting, if someone steals your equipment / vehicles or whatever and has an encampment set up which you'be seen but don't have the firepower to raid, or even If there's someone you want dead for the sake of it (ie a group member who's being a jerk and you wouldnt mind their stuff), PM me here with coordinates and as much Intel as you can and my group and I will attempt to hunt them down and kill them. The cost? Nothing more than the satisfaction of murder. We are armed to the teeth and don't need any equipment, and we will even leave all the loot for you to take. This could be fun heh.

Do you realise that US 69 is a private server is not connected to the MASTER Hive, that server has the helis enable, and i think it has 37 vehicles, our clan dont own that server, we play on that server and also on MvW server from time to time just for the fun, and again those servers are PRIVATE, those both servers had the helis enable. Mmmmm do you even know the admin of that server???

    They could add in tons of vehicles, then everyone would be running down zombies and holding crash derbies. I agree that there is a logical inconsistency with 99.999% of all vehicles vanishing into thin air, but this likely has as much to do with keeping areas uncluttered (just picture the miles of highway backed up with cars in TWD) as it does with the gameplay. EDIT: As for tanks, the area of Day Z seems pretty rural. I imagine they were probably all taken further inland to defend major cities, if there were even that many there to begin with. Mind you I'm just speculating to fill the void.

    Id like to know why tanks dont exist? You know the movie "I am legend" The guy pretty much has his pick of whatever vehicle he wants to drive. Hes like the last living guy and everyone else is just zombies. Isnt that the same thing DayZ is trying to get accross? Surely there has got to be some car dealerships that have some vehicles in stock. And Tanks! Cmon. Its gotta be pretty tough for a zombie to destroy a tank. Why in DayZ would there be none left?
