Admin Abuse - DAYZ US 572 (hosted by new black panthers)
Zoop replied to kuek's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I don't quite get how they knew it was you, though. I'm assuming this was on a regular server, but if so, does it show nameplates of people inside vehicles? Still, total dick move on the part of the admins. -
meh just for fair warning i believe atleast one of them uses scripts to find vehicles thats why we left the server, any vehicle no matter where placed or hidden was gone within 3 hours of one of us logging off.

Hey everyone, Day Z is a challenging game. Beautiful, inspired and challenging. When I first started playing I had no idea of the game's depth, primarily because every match often ended with me being shot, stabbed or eaten an average 45 minutes in. The problem was compounded by the fact that I could find very little advice regarding the practical side of play (my fault not the community's- I should have looked harder). I really feel for players who play the game once, get mercilessly destroyed and never want to play again. They are missing out big time on what has become my favourite game ever. I put together; through research and play, the first 15 rules of Zombieland, which my friend and I now follow religiously. This is the list I would liked to have had when I first started. There are many advice threads out there but I thought I'd start a new one as a homage to Ruben Fleischer's film 'Zombieland' by posting the beginnings of 'the rules of Zombieland'. If this has been done before then I apologise (took a quick look did not see anything like it). Remember, these are the rules I use. Rules 9 and 10 might be considered by some to be controversial. Maybe. Anyway, like them or hate them, these are the first 15 rules of Zombieland. Feel free to add to them. :) BeanyUndead Rules of Zombieland 1. Never stand-up or run unless a zombie is chasing you. Crouch or crawl everywhere. 2. If a zombie is chasing you, run into a house. Zombies cannot run inside structures. This will allow you to run out the other side of the structure while the zombie is still ambling slowly along. Some structures only have on exit point. They are better than nothing but you will have to angle around the zombie within the room. This can be dangerous but better than facing said zombie in the open. 3. If you are with a friend, have a rallying point pre-arranged just in case you have to run from zombies so you can find each other again. Do not lead the zombies back to your rallying point. Die first. 4. Do not fight pursuing zombies in the open when they are moving fast. a. Shooting a zig-zagger will result in many misses and loss of ammo. b. Hacking a zig-zagger will result, more often than not, in a bleeding wound from a zombie as they tend to get at least one hit in (in my experience but I have seen axes deployed to great effect. I watched a player hack down more than twenty chargers without getting a scratch. Be warned however, it is dangerous). 5. Quietly axe zombies that have entered a house in the back by circling around them out-of-sight. Take your time with zombies in structures. 6. Do not try to help a friend by shooting a pursuing zombie. You will just hit your friend. 7. If your friend is being chased by a zombie, let him go. Do not pursue. You will only attract more zombies and worse, perhaps even lead to the spawning of more zombies. He/she will eventually get back to the rally point. 8. Guns are for bandits and axes are for zombies. Not always the case but good as a general rule. Guns attract more zombies so using them against the walking dead should be a last (total emergency ‘oh my god I’m going to die’) resort. 9. Consider not walking around with your gun out. If you are ambushed by bandits, chances are you are dead anyway. If you manage to get out of the ambush, then you will have time to pull your gun out. Then again, having my gun ready saved me recently from a sniper (lucky return shot) so....When moving with a deployed firearm, consider that is has the following effects: a. Allows the returning of fire when you contact a bandit to the front (a rare eventuality). b. Allows zombies to be engaged in the open (which you should not be doing anyway early in the game) c. Makes anyone not a bandit nervous enough to shoot you should you point your weapon in their general direction. 10. If somebody points a gun at you, even if they are just turning around, shoot them after yelling a warning or run! Best to yell a warning for them not to turn around though through voice chat. Do not shoot unarmed people or people armed with axes unless they are trying to harm you. Remember to feel bad if this happens. Remember, trust nobody. 11. Have a base of operations, which can double as your rallying point, preferably near a CBD. This will allow you to conduct raids into the city while still having a fall-back position where medically challenged players can rest while the other members of the team hunt for supplies. a. Bases should be large enough so as to facilitate the walking of zombies. b. Bases should ideally be defensible with three entrances. c. Bases should be as ‘out of the way’ as possible with regards to the CBD. (Not in the centre of town). d. Bases should always be regarded as temporary. 12. Your first objective is to get water, second a hatchet, third food, forth a tent, fifth a vehicle and sixth a fire-arm. The tent is the golden prize for it allows you to store items in ‘cashes’ that remain after you have logged out (on the same server, not server to server yet). Everyone wants a gun and yes they are awesome, but do not prioritise them. They, in the early game, do more harm than good. Not only that, a bandit will follow you if he sees you have a gun. 13. Your global objective is to obtain a vehicle, preferably a military vehicle like a HUMVEE or jeep as these carry a lot. Vehicles allow you to stay mobile and to conduct quick and efficient raids into towns. You will need to repair a vehicle by accumulating parts. You accomplish this in the following order: a. Find a car (if it’s rusted out you cannot use it but if it is intact you can). b. Set up a ‘temporary base’ near the car as per rule 11. c. Unload all food and water into one pack (or onto the floor if you are feeling confident in the server) to free up space for the car’s components. If you have a tent by this stage, set up a cash in the woods nearby. d. Go and raid buildings for the following items an bring them back to your base: i. 1 Engine Part ii. 4 wheels (two for motorbikes) iii. 1 Scrap iv. 1 Fuel Tank Part v. 1-6 Jerry Cans of fuel e. Assemble the car and drive. Do not assemble the car until you have all the pieces. Each piece is needed. Leaving any single piece out will lead to disaster. That includes the single piece of scrap as your car will explode should it even touch a tree without it. 14. Your end game (at the moment) should be to have a ‘set-down area’ (a permanent base) out in the woods somewhere, away from anything valuable where you can store your vehicle. This is where you will pitch your tents and begin to dig-in for the long haul, happy in the knowledge that anything you scavenge will be waiting for you in the tent, safe and sound, the next time you log onto the server (assuming nobody finds it). 15. Accept death before playing. It is a hard game!

I'm tired of not finding vehicles
(AOW)n4zRuDiN replied to davidecibel's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Agree with OP, You can't really search for vehicles in this game, the vehicle searches you. I'm not gonna run outside the skirts of the map cause some retard (yes a retard) took it there, seriously not gonna waste 2-3 hours walking at a random direction like a twat. I've given up on finding them, I've set my mind to when I find one I'II find one cuz when someone find it they drive it off the the corner of the map and I find it just annoying, especially when it is so rare. I wish you could repair the vehicles on the road with the proper tools and parts. Would be much more fun to make your own car. Better parts -> better performance. And to do them you will need a blueprint, a place/factory to make them, parts and other stuff. But I'II stick to the thread. I wish vehicles didnt spawn, but rather made and aquired. Having cars spawn everywhere more often wouldnt make the game better, would just be more vehicle hoarding. I've found some cars hidden close to towns or in big forests in the center wich I find funny and refreshing but borderline parking em on the map.. I hope your PC malfunctions and ur to poor to get a new one. -
I'm tired of not finding vehicles
Sutinen replied to davidecibel's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
He said he wanted to fucking drive, then why not try the core game? It's not that hard to spawn yourself a vehicle and drive it around. No need to come whining here, vehicles are not supposed to be found around every corner in this game. -
The ONLY Realistic Way to Prevent Deathmatching: Make DayZ a Living Hell
FrankDaTank1218 (DayZ) replied to Time Glitch's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Here is a good way to promote teamwork and less paranoia, radios should be implemented, and could be recieved from up to 4km away, and there should be megaphones that, when equipped, can make your voice travel clearly up to 500m. Having to get RIGHT up on someone before being able to announce you are friendly contributes to killing and paranoia. If you can tell people in a large area you are there and want to meet up, it helps. Military land vehicles and the Huey should also have loudspeakers so you can do long range communication, imagine. A huey flies over and its loudspeaker shouts "We have a group/camp at place A, come to place X and we can do thing Y". -
We're coming back for you tonight!!!!! We had an epic game last night and found a clans ammo dump, tents, vehicles and loads of other kit. We pinched a lot of their gear, but my machine kept quitting and they took it back. But we're coming back for you tonight, so be warned. And this time we're bringing backup!!! It's war!

I'm tired of not finding vehicles
KWilt replied to davidecibel's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Come take them from us and stop bitching. Seriously. If people aren't going to put effort into finding a vehicle, then stop crying. We put the exact same amount of work into our vehicles that you would've. Just because we got lucky and got to them before you, doesn't mean you get any right to bitch and whine because you can't find our obviously-massive camp, if we're storing dozens of vehicles. If you want to bitch at us, come say it to our face, at our camps. -
Say Wheat. Now maybe some vehicles will re-spawn and the hoarders will have to hoof it for a change.

In the game there are different chat channels. Like "Side Channel", "Direct communication", "Vehicle Channel", "Group Channel". Do I missed one? Can somebody explain who can see what I write (or mark on the map) in which channel? What I know: Side channel Readable all over the server. But what if I do a mark on the map? Is it also visible for everyone? Direct communication Readable in a certain area around you (40m?!), same with VoIP. Marks on map visible for everyone? Or just when one is in this certain area? Vehicle channel Just visible/readable for people who are in vehicles? Group channel I have no idea.. :D So thanks in advance and please correct me when I'm wrong :) Edit: Oops, I think I got into the wrong section of this forum. Should be posted in "New Player discussion", sry for that.

total tent cities found: 5 total vehicle hiding spots found: 7 total vehicles destroyed: 9 everything except for the UAZ, 1 white truck, red / yellow cars were found. hope we can do a day 2 run tomorrow cant hear me in the video sadly :( apparently fraps can barely pick up my mic

So yesterday I found a vehicle and I managed to fix most of it up, but I couldn't find any engine parts. I realized that you could still drive even without engine parts, so I hid the vehicle in the woods. I'm really afraid to drive it much more in case it blows up or something. I haven't found any engine parts yet though. So I was wondering, how well do vehicles work without engine parts?

Its not lying. You have your own clan posts saying you DO take it down when everyone is logged off. Read the frontpost of this forum my friend. The individuals who have that server have the advantage. You have no risk of being raided because you control when it goes up and down. Let me play your game for a minute. I have a camp at NWAF with some tents on a server. My clan and I have all of our vehicles there and we get fairly good loot, considering the location. With L85's and Snipers we can cover the whole airfield and noone bothers us. But people CAN kill us. We can return fire at them. Okay, after a long day of farming, Let us bring down the server to prevent potiental hackers or people from finding our equipment because we are not online to protect it. I should be able to do this with your logic, right? Maybe a hacker might show up. Funny, the other servers that guy has in his signature is an admin of three other servers. Why aren't those taken down too? They are at risk of having hackers on them. Mine are too. I possibly should shut them down until I play again later to make sure noone does anything I do not agree with.
-
You've been lucky, that's it. I said the same thing for the first 2 months of playing... but in the past 3 weeks I've been teleport killed twice, had a hacker swoop in behind me with a crossbow that shot bolts as fast as an M4 shoots bullets (followed by wiping all tents/vehicles on that server), and then just tonight a hacker teleported every player on the server to the NWAF for a shootout (I aborted, luckily). It's not region based. Hackers just go down the list of servers one by one by one. Or randomly. And you, sir, have been lucky, nothing more. Ha, and I thought Punkbuster was bad! BattlEye is a steaming pile of zebra shit.

Servers not syncing tents/vehicles since heli patch?
Taso (DayZ) posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So, like most people, our clan spent some hours today trying to get a brand new Huey. Well, eventually, we found it and repaired it enough to fly it away to our base for further repairs later. Come the server restart, it was gone! (All other vehicles stayed) We looked for it for a while before someone ventured back to Skalisty island, and wouldn't you know it? The thing was there, totally unrepaired. What's more, none of our tents or vehicles saved any gear added to them despite multiple saves. Well, we tried for a THIRD time, this time ensuring plenty of repairs, many saves to all vehicles and tents. Server restarts before I decide to call it a night. Guess where Huey is-- Skalisty island. So- it seems that nothing is saving for us this patch. Anyone else experiencing this? (We lost a lot of good weapons too) -
Do people rather go by themselves than team up?
Food replied to robotpenguin's topic in New Player Discussion
I prefer my group. We can hoard all the vehicles and the helicopter safely in 2 different locations. Find 10 of our cars in one place? That's ok we have 8 more on the other side of map to use in the search for them :P We haven't had to actually scavenge in weeks because we have some nice stockpiles of ammo and guns in tents. Although I'm loving the heli! Shooting noobs in Elektro all day :D Got a ground force for extra support and it's just a massacre lol. Groups are great. -
On our server also vehicles starts to spawn.
-
you know what the sad thing is, i was in that server and you never killed any of them, i shot one of them with my m4a1, tell your gunner to work on his accuracy btw after i killed him you guys circled for like 10 minutes firing at me while i was going through tents and vehicles and the only stray bullet that hit me barely took 2k life. if you guys wanna talk shit atleast get your facts straight. though i am now curious if it was you guys or ADZ that raided our camps, we assumed it was the ADZ fellows.

+1 We have also had this issue, collected 9 ghillie suits, 2 NVG's, 3 as50's, 2 m107s, and a bunch of lmg's and assault rifles along with ++++ loads of ammo. we set up 2 tents. I set one a team member set the other. split the gear between the 2 tents. saved both tents multiple times. (I removed 1 players worth of gear) when I returned to the server today both tents were there but everything and i mean down to the 12 empty water bottles were gone... now if 5-6 people found the tents and vehicles and looted every last drop in them ok but i find it highly unlikely considering the UAZ was still there but had nothing in it except the original fuel and stuff. highly dissapointing but you must press on i do hope they fix this issue its getting tough losing everything over and over... nice to see ghillies are working though! keep up the good work and let us know when tents are safe once again plx!

There have been cases (including myself) where vehicles do not save and randomly despawn. I in fact had an ATV stockpiled with phat lewtz (medicine and survival stuff) Disappear when we fixed up a car and went to retrieve the ATV.

It shuld do, but servers like to eat vehicles and tents, it's in their diet

Night time doesn't serve a purpose
Graz (DayZ) replied to jayboltz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The people who are complaining about night in this thread seem to have little to no experience playing at night. Most of this QQ is pointless, seeing as very few actually understand more than jumping on a server, seeing dark and leaving. If you want to jump around servers looking for a day time there is nothing stopping you. The moon comes up at night, at the start it is near pitch black. Yes moving around is difficult, however people who don't shoot and don't use vehicles have a massive edge. When the moon comes up spotting people becomes almost as good as day. Sound is unaffected at night, if you are in a populated cherno and are seeing people long before hearing them. You are most likely not playing stealthy enough to survive during the day time anyway... The same for zombies, you can hear them long before they here you if you are playing the game properly. Most snipers can't be used properly at night, there goes all the high tech issues. Even with NVG most sniper rifles are ineffective at long range due to incompatibility with a sniper rifle. ARs reign supreme at night, FAL and L8 are obviously amazing, but all the AR scopes are useable with NVG. Flares are your friend, they attract zombies and illuminate other players. Use you brain, if you throw a flare at someone they will shit their pants %90 of the time and alt+f4 or simply run. If they don't, they are most likely pretty solid so gtfo in a hurry. Night requires a different approach, different weaponry and different amount of thought. Play smart and you will appreciate the night time as much as day. For those that are day time only and are posting QQ about night, why are you complaining about an aspect that you take no part in? If you want to set up camp on a server, get used to playing at BOTH times, otherwise go play CoD, it's great for QQing and daytime play. -
Need 6 trustworthy, trained bandits
grimreapaa replied to grimreapaa's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
That was great. Only two other people showed up and we blew up their base, got an SVD camo and an MK 48. I will post a video tomorrow, if anyone cares to see it. EDIT: For the story, I was backstabbed by a group of 9 players that I was working with for a week or so and we ended up placing satchel charges on their vehicles at midnight while stealing all of their guns XD
