I absolutely second that! Make fuel rarer and add more vehicles (wether destroyed or intact). Like it is now, its pretty unrealistic, that there are so less (repairable) cars throughout whole chernarus. What happened to all the carwrecks we see throughout the country? The virus outbreak cant be happened so long ago (the zombies have still intact clothing) that almost all the cars are rusted to death and crumbled... Also: when i walk trough a village, i dont see a bike anywhere.. think of real life: there are bikes in almost every single household... in the garden or somewhere else.. i highly doubt, that bicycles dissappeared into thin air because of the zombie virus outbreak, or that the whole population which made it out, evacuated themself on bicycles. make the game more realistic and add bikes and more repairable cars in every village.. and make gas very rare... like in Mad Max... It will give the game a mad max feeling. The players will fight for gas then at the gas stations. i like the idea of the original poster very much! thumbs up!

like 90% of vehicles spawn with something in them (Ural has 5 entrenching tools, wood piles, few other things. Huey has 5 cans of coke. etc...) where was this UAZ spawn at?

Hacker Bombed our base and admits on forums-US 941
Act-Mack posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Our base was bombed and destroyed by hacker. So he finds our forum post on our base and then claims to have destroyed it and then claims that since we had an excess of vehicles by bombing us he helped the server. the server is US 941 expert server. Hackers Forum Name: DYLANBROCHILL Here is the quote where he admits to bombing it. Please ban him i have had enough of hackers already but one who comes on the forums and gloats about it needs to be tought a lesson. -

I livestreamed every second we spent on that server, multiple raids. Many hours playing there as well and have never seen these "Mass player teleports, (thunderdoming) and mass player kills" The fact that you found out your camp got raided and directly after we noticed a few camp vehicles being moved. (Possibly trying to relocate.) The complete utter bullshit involving server admins recently crying when they lose their camp,s kicking/banning from servers, shutting it down, rolling it back etc etc is getting unbearable because people simply cannot handle the fact that you lose gear in this game. Stop trying to hide your mistake and your fuck up that you left the server locked and didn't think anyone would notice, 12 hours and you were all hopping in and out of the server? Cmon, a 5 year old might be gullible enough to believe that but anyone with an IQ over 5 would realize you are trying to cover your tracks. -
There's a good chance that someone stored some of that in there or hacked the vehicle in.On the other hand, I've seen identical loot on a couple of the white trucks that were at their spawn locations. I had a hunch that vehicles spawned with loot, but I couldn't get anyone else to believe me until they saw that.

CraXy and Nitroustyman. Killed them both several times with the same gear. Ran one of them over the first time while he was rolling around, his corpse disappeared into the ground. He then showed up again moments later, same gear, killed one of my friends, before the rest of us unloaded on him. Not two minutes later, he's back about 20 feet away, and one of my friends runs him over again. No corpse. We're driving down the road and one of them opens up from the treeline, disabling both of our vehicles. We get out and kill them. Again. Friend goes to give me a transfusion. I see CraXy pop into existance on the road, headshot my friend with a DMR before I headshot him. My friend respawns in chernogorsk. This guy teleports to him AGAIN. This all happened at approximately 10:20 EST.

vehicles arent rare at all lol. ive found 4 atv's, 1 motorcycles, 3 buses, 2 GAZ's in the past 3 days... you just have to spend some time exploring. -
Can a server fully reset wiping all of the saved vehicles and tents on it?? All of my well hidden tents and vehicles in different locations are now gone. Is it possible for admins of a server to wipe everything? Also, this server has been acting really sketchy, the admin literary shuts the server down when he goes to sleep lately, Is this against dayz server rules?

As long as it's not my camp I enjoy these videos, but I fear the day I view one of these topics only to see someone flying my heli, driving away my Ural, and stealing everything in my vehicles and driving them away. I accept it will happen one day though, but good luck taking all 17 before someone gets on lol

The one thing I hope for is that factions will be made and will be consistent throughout servers. Factions will create goals, and goals will clash with other faction's goals. They will create their own stories, but each faction will also have their own goals, which you can chose to pursue or not. If Rocket needs a writer, I am up for it (I have experience writing screenplays and short stories); goals need to be minimally intrusive and be designed in multiple stages + branched objectives. I imagine you can join a faction according to your current gear. So, only a guy who has military equipment will be able to join a military squad. Ranks among a faction will be distributed according to days survived+zombie kills. The highest ranked official of a faction may enlist 2 bodyguards.The military will shoot down anything and be ruthless like the bandits, but they also have missions, e.g. to establish a sattelite link to restore communications or reactivate an overseer drone and scout an area. Every faction would have unique goals and can chose to play them out or to make up their own goals. some faction ideas: military - players with military gear can join military goals: long term objectives, multiple stages --- bandits - players who kill 5 or more surviors can join bandit goals - bandits have 0 objectives, except to cause havoc + set up camps --- survivor - anyone can join survivor goals: survivors have short time/single objectives and low tier "rewards" --- medics - anyone with a stock of at least 5 medic supplies can join medic goals - short term, long term (reinforce health care in the north) --- traders - traders can be joined by anyone with an alice pack or larger trader goals: long term goals, mid term goals, diplomatic goals (secure help of other groups to establish trade posts) --- postman - anyone with a vehicle can join postman goals - short term goals (supply information between factions, deliver messages, provide transport) --- later addition (one of many possible ones): engineers - engineers have a toolbag (needs to be repurposed a bit and made more rare) engineer goals - engineers can build vehicles from parts and mod existing vehicles --- Factions could be chosen at given locales, e.g. if you want to join military - at military camps, if you want to join regular survivor, at bars, if you want to join meds at hospitals, traders at shops, postman at gas stations, etc. You would think twice before killing any of the higher tier groups, because they may be able to help you and your faction more when they are alive. I imagine goals of the factions to be interlinked, so you will require , e.g. a postman to help you out at some point of a (particular) mission. Of course, there will still be a lot of shooting among the low tier factions, but I think higher tier players will be less frequently found in spawn areas than now. There will even be occasional kills among the same faction and groups within a faction will clash over the same objective. Some missions could include betrayal to reach a goal faster and make it your choice how you want to play it out, from a moral standpoint. It will be much the same like when we are clashing over goods in a supermarket now, but there will be something more than just the looting to it. Every decision you make may benefit your group or it may degrade it. It may happen that someone plots against their leadership and takes over the senior role for himself. It may be that a group splits and assumed a new leader and they decide to fight a different fight. Cars should be more available ,while military vehicles and jeeps that can travel across/through woods etc should be rare ......i want newer player to be able to get in a vehicle without having to play for 50+ hours finding parts etc .. and having the server choose the number of vehicles would just be abused so badly and smells of leetism -
Gas definitely would be a finite and exponentially valuable rescource after the outbreak, not only gas but vehicle parts. This is a good idea. Hopefully we can test it in arma II before it goes into standalone. I disagree that cars should be thought of as rare. They should only be limited by 1. Server stress and 2. Breaking immersion, if it felt as if there were too many cars than there actually would be in the area. I am not really familiar with the Chernarus history and why noone actually owns a car. "It's been ravaged by communism and civil war" is not a great excuse for limiting cars. Not sure how people will fuel their choppers, maybe they will need to eat lots of beans and produce another kind of gas. Edit: It would be possible for a group of players to control a gas station and trade gas for things like food/ammunition/chopper parts/vehicles.

once again if you want a vehicle go behind myshkino barn (at the end of the dirt road past the town) theres a white truck spawn. if it isnt there check the forests behind the barn (big open plains with like 8 trees in the middle). somewhere around there are going to be vehicles on atleast 50% of servers and if you know where vehicles spawn its almost impossible not to find one if you realllllly want one just go to a spawn point and server hop edit: and safe fuel is extremely rare and yeah the tank should empty over time and reset on server restart -
Awww you wrecked it. If you find an enemy camp with tons of loot its better off to just take what you want and leave all the tents and vehicles. They may not notice what you took if you stick to what they have multiples of. So if you need loot again just go back. Now that they know they will take more pains to hide their stuff. I currently have a few different camps I go between on different servers if I wanna switch guns or something. At one camp we got 4 pairs of NV, 4 ghillies, and a pile of guns and GPS. A week later we went back and they were nice enough to restock for us. Now 8 of us are all geared out. Thanks FOE server!!

Vehicles spawn like guns do - they are completely random and spawn at pre-designated points. Of course they are extremely rare, but when they do spawn, they are not in drive-able condition. You have to repair them, put in new tires, fix the gas tank, then fill it with gas, then you can drive/fly around in it. Of course if it is a helicopter you will probably have to fix the rotors too.

not a fan ......true i love red dead redemption but for dayz - no Just tighten up the vehicles already in game and maybe add a few more military vehicles

Awesome. Recently I stole 4 vehicles from a camp and crushed their tents. They responded back with markers. Just making sure I can respond back too. :P

The few servers i played with it on, were a lot more enjoyable to be honest. Trekking from the coast to the north is a lot less mind numbing when you can have a conversation with people. Course it can be abused with giving away camps, vehicles and whatever, but how many forum posts do we see with "Camp at xxx-xxx on Server XX" Hell i spent twenty minutes lying under a tree cause i was walking near stary and thought someone saying in side chat he saw someone in my area was me. Abuse happens enough as it is without it, don't see the harm in letting servers have communities, if of course they make mics not work with side/global.
