"Bikes are so much better than not bikes" [video]
:VADER: replied to EyeoftheYeti's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
bikes pwn most of the vehicles in this game, car does like what 60 ? but take it off road and you get 15 ? the bike is always 30 no matter where you ride it. They are pretty silent and get you where you need to go pretty quickly. http://youtu.be/IVGkGxp1gvU -
i know the not spawning bugs but usually a 2nd restart fixes not spawning tents and vehicles. and some vehicles did spawn so i guessed that after the crash yesterday an accidental rollback did happen. just wanted to know if that is true or if my tents and vehicles will respawn on the next restart or if they just got eaten by the server.

Anyone else...run out of things to do?
[email protected] replied to Hendrix27's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Maybe I haven't reached the point you have but my friends and I have started getting some really sweet gear (and hoarding it all of course) so now I"m travelling down to snipe some people down south. (I'd snipe up north but we don't have the coordination for that despite us taking out 4 travellers with 2 vehicles I was the one who got all the kills) I've always wanted to stalk some people and just track em' down. Play with some buddies or find some friends, we're always driving around like idiots in a car doing burnouts and getting air time as we look for crashsites in which we then find a vantage point and try to kill as many zombies as we can before we race each other to the loot. -
Server-side Hotfix 0.7.2, Helicopter status and server info
anonymous83 replied to Vipeax's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
We are having a problem on our server with vehicles saving right on the spot they are destroyed not back at their spawn spot, basically after a server restart the vehicle is right back where it blew up. Also the heli, if destroyed, spawns back on the spot it took off from not on any of it's other spawn points. -
If you read the thread before replieing - You will know that there is a problem with saving on this server, Vehicles such as Tents. It's a known problem, which will be fixed at the upcomming patch (1.7.3=/=1.7.2.5)

Like I said, they're very close minded and refuse to read the thread. They keep posting things that have nothing to do with the idea and act like people are asking for the complete removal of it from the entire game. What is asked, is for another option. This is in Alpha, the point of an Alpha test is to submit and add content that can change the game, to experiment with the very idea of the game and find what is the most appealing and fun. Adding in Pve servers is both easy, and could vastly increase the player count come standalone. $$ Talks. BI is the source behind the standalone and they will without a doubt want to add in options to bring in as many customers as possible. This means they will want to make a softcore version to appeal to casual gamers. Strategos, I don't think you understand what brings people in. I know I wasn't attracted to the pvp. An Open world Zombie mmo that I could play with friends, is why I came. The pvp is a side effect and not needed for me to enjoy it. I spend very little time having to pvp and a good 90% of my time fighting zombies and looking for loot or repairing vehicles and exploring the map. If there was a pve version on the standalone. I'd still probably play on pvp servers, because if I wanted to pvp. i could, if I don't want to. I won't go to main cities. However there are countless people who no doubt do not want what you want. My nephew likes to watch me play and he doesn't like that other people can shoot you. Now mind you, there are loads of people who like pvp, but there are loads of people who like pve. There is not a single reason at all to not allow both pve and pvp players to enjoy the game. It will only bring in more sales and help the further development of the game. Quoting rocket means nothing, sorry but if he wants his game to compete with WarZ and Dead linger and class 3. He is going to need to attract as many people as possible and keep them here. No one here is asking for him to create special pve endgame content. Not a single person has asked that in this thread. No one wants special content or different gameplay. Sure, they could create two seperate pbos and allow pve servers to use one and pvp servers to use another. The one for pve servers would have increased zombie damage or what have you. All that would require is to change a few values and name the pbo something else and save it. Wouldn't take more than 15mins probably. So no, it would not cause any problems at all to change the value that sets zombie damage and let the servers "flag" for pvp/pve.

So, is Soldiers Clothing legit or not?
rybo replied to Egor190's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Posted Today, 05:53 AM Its hacked, but if you grap it its okay to use it Quote from Rocket rocket, on 26 July 2012 - 05:19 AM, said: No This rumour has no basis to it whatsoever. Using a hacked vehicle/weapon will identify you during database analysis, and your character may receive special logging attention in the database, but you will not receive a ban without creating them yourself. Edit: http://battleye.com/support.html quote: Quote No one is banned for using non-hack programs (like Fraps, overlays, etc.), picking up or using hacked in-game items, weapons or vehicles, being on a server at the same time as a cheater, or other passive non-cheating activity. Alt+f4's How I Hate Them So Much.
zantiago replied to FUBBMisery's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The V3S ain't lost, it's just at the old location they saved it at. Why? Because the hive still fails to register as it should. And as such, finding vehicles might be hard, if you look for them in the original spawn locations. Of you hate them so much, do like me. I don't care about loosing my gear, I just bring everything to Cherno/Elektro, find a suitable spot to look for "bandits", in the usual sniper spots. And I sit there for hours on end, listening to music and just scanning the area from time to time to see if there is anything happening, and to listen for sound. Find a spot that's about 800meters away from the sniper spots, and lay there in wait with your M107 and or AS50. And ofcourse, you need an original nick like me "ALTF¤Wh0rez". The distance is simply so they won't hear from what direction you are shooting from. And yes, I ignore newly spawned survivors. -
I really do like DayZ and undoubtedly it has taken a great toll of my playing time. But there's two things which are nearly ruining the motivation to play it and which I think should be addressed at top priority. I know these points I'm about to say has been mentioned here before in multiple different threads. But I really want to put extra weight on these two, because they are maybe _THE_ most important changes to make. 1) Teleport wars Describtion: Aka. Disconnecting at the server A, connecting to the server B, relocating your position at the server B and then connecting to the server A again. OR just simply disconnecting to avoid consequences, like getting eaten by Zeds, shot... etc. I've faced this countless times in my PvP encounters and I confess I have done this also myself by the purpose. Haters blaming the player for doing wrong, but I can tell you it's naive to whine for others to do so when it's generally a feature of the game. You can disconnect and you can connect to the other server and both of those "features" are completely legit and they doesn't require any knowledge of exploitism. Like pressing specific keys in certain order etc. Like here is an example: You know the Berezino military camp and those 3 multistore buildings at south of it. Sniper watching the military camp from one of the buildings windows. Then you spot him from a very long distance with your binocs/rangefinder and you don't have the firepower to shoot him from that far and you can't cross the opening unless you flank it(if you know the Berezino it's a long run). So what this bright guy will do is he will disconnect and find an empty server where he is able to cross the opening and relocate himself behind the sniper to the other room at the very same building. Next thing is he will connect to the server and move silently(tapping forward doesn't make any sound) behind the sniper and the threat is about to get removed. I have seen this scenario myself with my own eyes. It's unrelevant whether I was on the delivering or receiving side. The point is it's completely possible and top of all, easy. At this point somebody might say that servers are outlawing such manuevers, but honestly first of all on most of the servers you are anonymous player killing anonymous players and secondly even if you somehow would get banned whatsoever there's thousand of other servers where to play and the damage is done anyway. Those rules simply doesn't work. Not a single admin has time to check thousands and thousands whines about people disconnecting "wrong". There must be a fix in the system itself to prevent this. So there is basically two entities to fix easily. Preventing server hopping and preventing the insta disconnect. Both of those shouldn't be too hard to implement I'd guess? Lets start with server hopping. That should be easy. Though you must remember one thing that sometimes people just want to search for a server they like and I don't think it's necessary to punish them for such. Like if you want to play in a server which has a day time and those timezones on the title are most of the time wrong. So the only thing which basically needs to get penalized is the server hopping from A to B and back to A. Like 15 minutes connect timer would certainly prevent this teleport war completely. For playing later on the same server the extra connect timer could decay like in 1 hour. Then the prevention for the insta disconnect. This should be even easier. Either just make an adequate disconnect timer(5 seconds is certainly not!). OR make two kind of flags for the disconnect. First one would be a basic disconnect, it could be this 5 seconds suggested by DayZ. Second one would be the one which would get triggered if you would either shoot/hear shots or aggro zeds and it would mean a longer disconnect timer. Lets say like 1 minute and it would reset if you would cancel the disconnect. This extra DC toll could get decayed like the server hopping timer. Perhaps after 10 minutes. These times are just examples. Then there's a last remaining ingredient to fix this problem "once for all". Like in my mentioned example there's still a very big problem when you are able to "teleport" behind the enemy. Even if the system would be able to prevent the people in the same server to do so, it's still unable to prevent the people who are not yet connected to the server and perhaps have the knowledge of the enemy in the specific house. Like the one guy who is in the same voip and who is about to join to the same server. SO there's only one reasonable prevention for this and it's to prevent completely spawning/disconnecting on the loot areas or at their close proximity. Yeah you could still spawn to bush X which could be behind the sniper Y, but it's still a far much better. If you have a better idea be my guest. So basically you have to be at the specific distance to disconnect and even if you would somehow getting DC'ed at "no no" spawn area the server should record your last position where you were at the disconnect area and you would spawn from there when you spawn next time. Then to the second problem which is not just ruining PvP, but the whole game's economy. 2) Duping items and save function Describtion: Tents and vehicles duping items after the server restart when they are not saved. New tents doesn't work and old ones duping items, sounds familiar? This is a VERY big problem. Like our crew currently have more than abundant supplies of everything you could possibly need, like dozens of NVGs, GPS and all other top tier stuff. Honestly I would more than happily give all them away if this system would get changed. All this rapid increase of your economy takes is to write enemy tents locations up. Like XXX-XXX Enemy tent (Server A), B and C and then just loot them at daily basis. OR if you are a bigger crook you can just plant items you want to duplicate in these tents -> save -> loot the duplicates after the restart. This is so blatantly wrong. I dunno if the fix could be easy as making the "save the..." function automatic everytime you shuffle the contents? Because everytime you save them they seem to stay, but if you don't save the contents will stay as the same as before the restart. But either way this problem must get addressed quickly... please. My zed cents.. dig, hate, discuss!

Hey all, i found a large basecamp outside of the server i often play, in this base there are allmost all vehicles, so i want destroy them that they can spawn in the map again and all player can find some of them! So i destroy them, after this i save them, but after server restart they standing there repaired -.- sow my question is: How should i destroy them that they respawn? Thank a lot!

Hey me and some friends were driving around in a v3s when suddenly every vehicle got teleported to the same location after running around for a bit someone named kyle teleported to us so i shot him 5 times and he did not die so i aborted (only because i new he had godmode on). shortly after everyone was teleported in the air so my mate alt f4ed (because of the hack) and he got a message saying "you cant escape that easy alt f4 is now changed to suicide" we are getting so f!@#ing sick of this. we spend all night getting gear and vehicles for a hacker to ruin our night, sorry title is missleading it was us 599 not us 625....

When are you really gonna to stop OFF-MAP vehicle hoarders!!
suito replied to BossFi's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The best way in my oppinion is to make cherno a whole island, all area that is "non-grassed" should be ocean .. than nobody can store vehicles outside .. like lingor island :P -
Not a big fan of storing vehicles outside the map, I destoryed the tractor at that lake center north outside the map and also brought back the PBX speed boat beached from out of bounds.

I'm torn over taking things 'off map'. On one hand it's a pain in the arse if everything has been taken... On the other it's a good use of iniative I'd prefer a percentage chance of vehicles breaking (thus needing new parts from the map) if they are taken off the map over the 'I don't have one so just destroy it'. The bottom line is that these guys have got organised, claimed the vehicles and are protecting their stuff I suppose. **EDIT - For the record I have no stuff stashed off map, nor any transport other than my virtual feet. -
When are you really gonna to stop OFF-MAP vehicle hoarders!!
BossFi posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I've started playing on the same server and have ran most of the map looking for vehicles (while not many players online), couldnt find any. Then later when server is busy ( i know a clan plays here) I see a heli, a car and a motobike coming from the same direction where I already checked earlier. So next day when not many players online I scan the same area again cant find anything. After re-reading this in announcements..... "Vehicles that remain unused for a short period of time (<=24h) outside map boundary now respawns inside map boundary at their original chance based spawn points." *** Is that a typo and should say >=24h? because thats how it seems to me which isn't working! *** .....I now suspect this clan is using the vehicles everyday (<24hrs) but storing them off map when not using them. When is a realistic fix gonna get implemented to actually stop vehicles being stored off-map??! Here is a better fix that WORKS!: Any vehicle parked off map should damage itself and blow up within 10 mins of being left unmanned!- 58 replies

Eu 32 Camp Raiding

Could be our group up in the NE. I do remember seeing your two names on the server. There is however another group up there storing vehicles off map, which we reckon is the [DZH] lot. I've killed a few of them at the dam area heading down South from the outside of the map, so that's why we think it could be them. Anyhow, if you guys know Evertos, talk with him and he'll pass on the message, and we'll talk about it in the group. Although our group at the moment when were all online is getting rather large so I guess we'll see. -

What if each server had their own version of the map, with randomized location for villages, roads, airfield etc. At the moment a lot of the problems for the game come with people getting a bit too familiar with the map, server hopping at high value loot spots, camping high value loot, knowing the exact location of vehicles and loot spawns, malls, pvp hotspots. Because let's face it, once you've played for a few hours, you learn the location of all the important stuff, there's no exploring any more. I used to enjoy trying to figure out my position with the map, trying to find landmarks, read signs, etc. But now I got a pretty good idea of where things are at, especially along the coast. What used to be a fun experience exploring new places, discovering new things has turned into a less exciting get into the mall, check this and that place, go into the farm over there, then head for the next town. I think there are a few issues with having the map randomized, the first being the time and cost to implement such a system. The second being server hopping and ending up inside stuff. I'm also pretty sure that a lot of people have grown attached to the current map and don't want to let go. I too am quite fond of it, but having a new map to explore would give the game better replay value and also stay true to the survival aspect.

Hackers, and the state of the standalone game?
ezay75 replied to KetchupOnTheDog's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hi. Am I the only one wondering about that stand alone project, when you can't play the alpha because of hackers ? I mean, it's everyday now. And I'm not talking about that cute and funny hacker that'll spawn some gear for his friends and himself and play the game, or the one that'll find vehicles with a radar. No, I'm talking about server wide grenade launcher nuking, killing everyone almost instantly (plus their vehicle), server wide teleporting in the air without parachute, and so on. Considering how long it takes to gather pieces to patch a chopper, how long it is to grab NV/L85 and so on, and how quick and often you'll get it wiped by a hacker, my question is: how the hell do you think you'll get a stand alone ? I really don't think that game will continue its growth without a serious anti-hack system.- 217 replies

simply contact the battleye support email with an email following their EXACT guidelines. Don't spin a yarn, don't talk about how you were on vacation or anything like that. Simply include your global ban id, and tell them what you were doing at the time (not a step by step, include whether you were playing for an extended period of time then were banned mid-play, or banned on login). This is a direct quote from the Battleye support page on their website. ! IMPORTANT WARNING REGARDING GLOBAL BANS ! If you are globally banned, read the following rules before sending in a support request. If you don't follow these rules your request/e-mail will be ignored! Otherwise your individual case will be carefully investigated. No one is banned for using non-hack programs (like Fraps, overlays, etc.), picking up or using hacked in-game items, weapons or vehicles, being on a server at the same time as a cheater, or other passive non-cheating activity. Therefore all requests mentioning these things as possible reasons for the global ban are ignored. A shared or stolen cd-key is no excuse. It's your own responsibility to ensure that no one else has access to it. Include your exact (!) global ban ID. The ID is shown in your global ban message ("Global Ban #ID"). If you don't include it your request will be ignored. Do not tell stories. Whatever you are saying about yourself or your situation won't matter. The only thing that matters is the evidence that is gathered for every global ban issued. Do not ask for the evidence behind your ban. No details about it will be revealed. Hackers would love to have access to this information. Do not beg for mercy. If you cheated you will have to live with the consequences. Global bans are permanent and no exceptions will be made. Questions regarding how exactly to get unbanned will be ignored. No support will be given on how to buy a new game or change your cd-key. Again, if you don't follow these rules your request will be ignored! Note that you will not receive a response if the evidence clearly indicates that you or someone else using your cd-key cheated. It doesn't matter if you only cheated on your own private server. Cheating on BE-enabled servers is forbidden, period.

De 125 - Worst server out there.
Max Planck replied to Dudeh93's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I've been playing on DE 125 for a number of weeks and I had a completely different experience. I had a bicycle which was always where I left it for about two weeks (who took it? I'll find you!), and I have only experienced a single server crash. As for disappearing tents and vehicles, I might have something to do with that... So far I've pinched an ATV and a UAZ, and heroically liberated a bicycle which I used to run over a whole bunch of tents that were standing in the way of progress. -

So basically, we've been playing there for awhile, and finally given up, the server keeps bugging your tents / vehicles so they disappear and will require a restart so they reappear, the server crashes every 15-20 minutes unless during night time, So if you're in a vehicle you will loose it after the restart because its RARELY works to save vehicles. So for those who actually want to enjoy the game, I advice you not to spend any time on this pathetic excuse of a server.
