I been using DayZ Radar to keep up with a few vehicles randomly teleporting around the map and vehicles changing into other vehicles. Lately the RPT file hasn't been showing any players. Anyone know of another program that works a little bit better?

everyone gets butt hurt about changing the look of the vehicles for some reason. i like the flavor.

Finding Vehicles Useless
Zeromentor replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yep, most if not all clan owned servers are down for about 6 hours when they are original put up. This is called, "Testing", but in reality they are collecting and repairing the vehicles, hitting crash sites and checking out the NWAF. After that, they open the server. Non-clan servers have a similar problem, again clan related. But they are not locked while this happens. Some servers have individual hoarders. Some have collectors, and a small few are just bugged or hacked and have no vehicles. The chances of finding a vehicle in a spawn is very low due to this. Beware using vehicles on some servers, as they have a habit of "accidentally" kicking you when a friend of the admin spots you driving around. I have no proof, so I won't name names. -
Duping seems to be fixed with the new DaYZ
Disgraced replied to ramatakahn's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hmm. Not my experience. We found a couple vehicles that had gear stowed on them and repaired. My tents are still where I left them and stocked with what I stocked them with. Duping.. I don't do it, so I've never investigated it. -

A tractor is fine too, it has good off-road but only seats 1. But it beats the heck out of walking! That being said I've been playing for over a month; I'm a lone wolf mountain man sort who avoids PvP for the most part, and I've come across more than a few very large camps, and even more vehicles. I also play on low pop servers and scour the northern areas as suggested above, this seems to work really well if you have some patience. 4 tractors, 2 bicycles, 3 pickup trucks, 2 buses, 1 SUV, and just the other day a pristine fully fueled Motorcycle with 2 jerry cans in storage was found just perfectly perched on a hill just before debug plains. Buzzing the NW airfield wearing NVG's doing 90mph watching the bewildered survivors gawk as I plow through zombies..... I must have lapped the map 4 times that night, good times, good times.... Shitty server reset made me lose that bike while riding it. P.S.: to keep a low profile just avoid the roads in high PvP cities and areas. Driving through the woods with most vehicles isn't too tough. -
Hello fellow survivors, Since I started playing this mod (about one month I guess), I had three vehicles. I lost every single one of them during server restarts. So my question is... what happens to my vehicles? For example I had a pickup truck once. The server was about to restart in 10 minutes, so I parked the truck next to my camp and saved the vehicle. After the server restart it was gone. Same happened to my bike several minutes ago. Did the vehicles just despawned and are completely gone now? Or were they reset to a previous savepoint? Would it make sense to retrace my route to find it back?

It also looks like all tents have been emptied and vehicles reset...

I for one, believe vehicle maps are completely useless because A:I believe that vehicles spawn in completely random spawn points like crashed helis and B:Most servers have either hackers/trolls who just hide vehicles or clans who horde vehicles. -

Honestly, at first it sounds like having a vehicle will be awesome...but... once you realize that > Using a vehicle makes you extremely high profile > You end up worrying about your vehicles safety more than you get to enjoy actually using it > Hackers love to blow up your precious vehicles > Shifty Admins have a nasty habit of kicking you from the server to steal your vehicle > Most vehicles end up being bigger tents, because it's very hard to keep them safe in the field At least, that's what I've come to realize after owning a few -
Player: As a player I learned that you always spawn near the coast. However, I've noticed that when I exit out of a game, and later enter back into a game, for the most part I always spawn where I left off. BUT sometimes I spawn back down near the coast even though I was not killed?? Is there any reason for this? Vehicle: I assume each server contains a specific number of vehicles that spawn in specific places. Once a vehicle has been taken by a player, does it eventually respawn in it's orginal location? Does the vehicle have to be destroyed before it respawns? Could all the vehicles be dumped into the ocean never to be used again on a server?? I would greatly appreciate any info on these topics. Thank you!

Grow up. Many servers legitimately have their vehicles essentially removed for weeks at a time because hackers teleported them into the ocean. Also, even though clans earn the right to have all the vehicles if they find them all most do not do so legitimately. You hear a lot of stories about amins locking down servers right after a new patch or restart so they can hoard every vehicle on the map. This is just plain shitty. -

Try a consistently lower population server. Hackers don't frequent them as often, as they want to fuck with as many people at once as possible. They're also less likely to have large clans bogarting all the vehicles too. Our current server peaks at about 10 players, today alone we found an off-road pick-up truck, three bicycles, an ATV, and a bright red motorcycle (the only one we actually stole from someone's camp). Obviously it's a lot easier to find more vehicles once you have one of your own, as you can check the spawns much faster and hunt other player's camps more efficiently. Sadly we lost all of those vehicles to a sudden server restart. Although we saved all of them, they disappeared along with our six tents. Not sure if they're ever going to come back. Kind of sad. Also, there are only a few times when vehicles actually appear at their spawns: 1. Someone parked it outside the boundaries of the map and waited more than 24 hours. 2. The vehicle explodes AND someone saves it as a toasted wreck. 3. The vehicle isn't touched for more than 7 days or so. So theoretically if all the vehicles on the server are already taken, you will never ever find them actually at the spawn. Also, most of the spawns for vehicles are still undocumented on most maps so you'll commonly find them where the map doesn't show a spawn. Your best bet if you really want to play on a high population server is to try to find other player's camps. Places to check would be: 1. Anywhere on the northern and western borders of the map. I will warn you, this is boring as shit. Literally all you do is walk through what feels like vast and pointless forest hoping to spot a tent or a car. It really sucks, but the payoff is spectacular when you find a camp with a UAZ and a couple tents filled with goodies. 2. Parts of the map that are not between major loot areas. There's a few small towns that no one ever visits because there's no reason to go there. This is where really crafty players build camps. People know to check the borders for camps, but they rarely bother looking inside a low value log cabin in Shakhovka. 3. Specifically if you want boats, check Krutoy Cap. Most clans will hide PBXs among the rocks for easy loot transportation to Skalitsy island (assuming they don't have the helicopter. Even if they do this is the only useful place to actually have a boat). 4. Anywhere you look on the map and think "Damn why would anyone ever go there?" -
As I'm sure you can understand, vehicles are a rare commodity. Are you sure you want one? Because, unless you hide it particularly well, it will be taken. Perhaps it will be taken out from under your dead body. I find them to be a liability. Not only do they alert people to my location from how loud their engines are (unless it's a bicycle but who can feel like a badass sniper riding a bicycle through the forest?) and how easily they are shot into disrepair. It is better to use your legs imho.

US1917 ADMIN KICKING after killing them. ADMIN: BRETT

What's up guy! :D So glad you could join us. I hopped on the server and immediately I heard a few explosions. I look back and see some fire going off in a friends camp. I scope in to see what's going on and boom headshot. I die. I download the logs to see what was up and I see the following: 18:56:48 BattlEye Server: Player #11 WNxKATIEYAY (72.83.148.15:2304) connected 18:56:48 BattlEye Server: Player #11 WNxKATIEYAY - GUID: f31220a4c36d52be6729b4030f6c78dc (unverified) 18:56:48 BattlEye Server: Verified GUID (f31220a4c36d52be6729b4030f6c78dc) of player #11 WNxKATIEYAY 19:21:30 "UPDATE: [b 1-1-L:1 (WNxKATIEYAY) REMOTE,[["5Rnd_127x99_as50",3],"ItemWaterbottle",["5Rnd_127x99_as50",2],["5Rnd_127x99_as50",3],"5Rnd_127x99_as50","5Rnd_127x99_as50","5Rnd_127x99_as50","ItemSodaCoke","FoodSteakCooked","15Rnd_9x19_M9SD","15Rnd_9x19_M9SD","ItemBandage","ItemBandage"],false]" 19:21:30 "HIVE: WRITE: "CHILD:201:25682063:[55,[7475.01,7575.53,0]]:[["ItemFlashlight","ItemFlashlightRed","ItemGPS","ItemHatchet","ItemKnife","ItemMap","ItemToolbox","ItemWatch","ItemEtool","ItemCompass","ItemMatchbox","Binocular_Vector","NVGoggles","M9SD","BAF_AS50_TWS"],[["5Rnd_127x99_as50",3],"ItemWaterbottle",["5Rnd_127x99_as50",2],["5Rnd_127x99_as50",3],"5Rnd_127x99_as50","5Rnd_127x99_as50","5Rnd_127x99_as50","ItemSodaCoke","FoodSteakCooked","15Rnd_9x19_M9SD","15Rnd_9x19_M9SD","ItemBandage","ItemBandage"]]:["DZ_Backpack_EP1",[["Mk_48_DZ"],[1]],[["PipeBomb","ItemPainkiller","ItemMorphine","ItemBloodbag","100Rnd_762x51_M240"],[1,2,2,1,3]]]:[]:false:false:0:0:0:0:["","",42]:0:0::0:" / 25682063" 19:06:58 BattlEye Server: Player #3 Rip (81.151.150.145:50099) connected 19:06:58 BattlEye Server: Player #3 Rip - GUID: 5af4d86431e382cc44f3c372a03e738d (unverified) 19:06:58 BattlEye Server: Verified GUID (5af4d86431e382cc44f3c372a03e738d) of player #3 Rip 19:32:52 "UPDATE: [b 1-2-E:1 (Rip) REMOTE,["5Rnd_127x99_as50","5Rnd_127x99_as50","5Rnd_127x99_as50","5Rnd_127x99_as50","PipeBomb",["PipeBomb",0],"PipeBomb",["PipeBomb",0],"PipeBomb",["PipeBomb",0],"ItemSodaCoke","FoodSteakCooked","ItemBandage","ItemBandage","15Rnd_9x19_M9SD","15Rnd_9x19_M9SD","15Rnd_9x19_M9SD","15Rnd_9x19_M9SD","15Rnd_9x19_M9SD","15Rnd_9x19_M9SD"],false]" 19:32:52 "HIVE: WRITE: "CHILD:201:26148788:[0,[519.658,8174.25,0.00119019]]:[["ItemFlashlight","ItemWatch","BAF_AS50_scoped","NVGoggles","ItemGPS","ItemToolbox","M9SD","ItemMatchbox","ItemCompass","ItemHatchet","ItemKnife","ItemMap","ItemEtool"],["5Rnd_127x99_as50","5Rnd_127x99_as50","5Rnd_127x99_as50","5Rnd_127x99_as50","PipeBomb",["PipeBomb",0],"PipeBomb",["PipeBomb",0],"PipeBomb",["PipeBomb",0],"ItemSodaCoke","FoodSteakCooked","ItemBandage","ItemBandage","15Rnd_9x19_M9SD","15Rnd_9x19_M9SD","15Rnd_9x19_M9SD","15Rnd_9x19_M9SD","15Rnd_9x19_M9SD","15Rnd_9x19_M9SD"]]:["DZ_Backpack_EP1",[[],[]],[["ItemPainkiller","ItemMorphine","PipeBomb"],[1,1,11]]]:[]:false:false:0:0:12:0:["","amovpercmrunsraswrfldf",42]:0:0::0:" / 26148788" As soon as I see the first thermal as50 I stop the server as I had just seen your message and another person respond saying he wanted to join up. So the server is stopped and I go through this and ban two people. The server comes back up and all is well. I'm still going through the logs and it seems you guys found that camp mighty fast. I wonder what else I'll be finding in these logs. Take care now! :D PS: It's amazing what happens to destroyed vehicles in DayZ once a restart occurs. Must be a shame to waste all of that time. -
Finding Vehicles Useless
Priceless replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Wow u mad? It took me like 1.5 months to get my first NVG things like that and vehicles are supposed to be RARE!! -
The DayZ-DB map shows possible locations for vehicle spawns. Because it is user submission driven, many of the shown spawn points aren't spawn points at all but simply a user having seen a vehicle and submitting it. But the map is a fine resource for information and shouldn't be discarded for use in hunting vehicles. The vehicles may or may not be where the icons represent. Certainly, if a vehicle is spawned at one of the locations you check, it will require repair. No vehicles spawn fully repaired.
-
At this moment in the game, I'm finding vehicles useless. I've been playing for three weeks and haven't came across ONE vehicle. I use the DayZ DB map so I know where the vehicles spawn. And if I'm ever in the area, I check. I hate walking all over the map. I've made multiple trips from the coast North to Stary Sobor so many times on foot and back its ridiculous. Just give me a bicycle, motorcycle, ATV. Something. If clans are just going to horde all the vehicles when the server is made, or hackers hide the vehicles, I find them useless. Its like a part of the game I'm not getting to experience. I've made it my mission just to vehicle hunt every life from now on.
-
When I search online about vehicles it usually gives multiple spawn points on the map for each vehicle, I look at the DayZ-DB map and try to go to some of those vehicle icons but usually I'll find nothing there. Does this mean that those icons only represents places that MIGHT have vehicle there? And if they ARE there when I check, will it be a working vehicle or it could be one that's very broken and needs heavy repairs? Helicopters for example, I know that it only spawns 1 heli per server and i believe Skalisty Island is one of the locations, i swam there but see nothing. If I were to keep changing servers then in theory I'll eventually see one there right? And when I do find one will it work? I play with a friend and we could really use a vehicle because of the VERY annoying glitch where the game spawns you back at the coast even though you didn't die and was somewhere else when you last logged off. Happened to both my friend and I like 3 times each now....

Servers should be cleaned/reset after a few months?
Venzire replied to [email protected]'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I like the idea of a global reset for vehicles and tents every few weeks or so. But many others will disagree with the idea. -

Admin just banned me from game for finding their camp, I didn't shoot either. saw camp, came under fire, immediate ban. The mad bomber destroyed: 1 Dirtbike 1 white pickup truck 1 Red Lada 1 UAZ 3 ATV's Your a terrible liar Brett And nice to see you restart your server in the middle of my raid to try to halt it. Bit cheap Nice to see you're duping your items aswell You have quite a few AS50's for a server thats only 2 days old. And wow you found some RGO Frag grenades, those are pretty rare, I know they're ingame but they're only really found inside Urals that have just spawned, bit weird that you had quite a few of those babies. For a server thats 2 days old you've got alot of tents, camps and quite a few vehicles set up. On my way north I was a bit suprised to see like 6 of your members just chilling at the NW airfield just shooting off rockets/grenades and all sorts of nubetubes around randomly, They weren't even fighting as no kills occured at all. Bit strange that your guys would be firing off all those explosives (it was like bonfire night) and not even be trying to kill other guys. It's like you had plenty of explosives to spare, maybe like you were duping them... I think it's time you got blacklisted bro -
So i found this hacker stash...
Hydra (DayZ) replied to Axxassin's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You cannot be banned for picking up hacked items, equipping hacked equipment, or driving hacked vehicles. Doing so will merely cause Battle Eye to flag you for future watch. Basically, BE will watch and see if you script. You can only be banned if you are the one who hacked the items in. -

I know some may find this suggestion does not fill Dayz hardcore survival theme however I think if done well, trusting Rocket it will be, could be awesome. Chererous is great don’t get me wrong but I think with the opportunity of standalone why not bring out a sweet map celebrating zombie culture whilst also providing great variety. I will try and produce some sort of rough map later at a later date but here’s a rough idea of my concept. Attractions: Theme park: (Zombieland) Out from the cities lies a sweet theme park , the rides don’t have to work but the atmosphere could be great. If some really fortify mechanics come into play could be a great place to set up camp with loads of vantage points from all the rides. Loot would include much food, sweet run around carts and a few cars in the gated car park and maybe a heli spawn (Non-military of course) Hospital: (Grindhouse) A big hospital in one of three major cities, complete with medical helicopter on roof, another great base to dominate. Get the generator powered and get all the CCTV up. Loot here will be food and much needed supplies, rare ones that can save you from ravaging disease. It’s also the only place where you can pull off a single person blood transfusion however it’s the only place. Mall (Dawn of the dead) A nice sized mall located in one of the major cities (Different from hospital). Perfect for fortifying, it’s got a hardware store where tools have a high chance of spawning and a gunshop. It’s derelict but sturdy, with the generator running you could get some night lights going. This will be a hot spot, so multiple entries required. Pub (Sawn of the dead) Area 52 (Someone can think of a better name) Its decent sized but offers up some unique rare loot and vehicles spawns. The rare loot, as well as good weapons, could be useful tech like thermal/night vision goggles that don’t emit glow (make the standard ones glow) or Quadcopter with camera (maybe a gun) which requires fuel to run. Maybe even a rare digital camo-suit. This would be super rare spawns would defiantly make it a popular place A quint British brand pub found in some of the towns, A great little place to build a shelter with a basement and decent loot of food and occasionally a weapon behind the bar. Cities: 3 major cities, while not huge in size would offer a different vibe. London inspired (hospital) (28 days later) – A tight city with a big wheel and a large clock, in no way a complete copy but with a few London touches. There could be a great black cab spawn here as well. Midwest USA inspired (Mall) (Dawn of the dead)- A midwest typical American city with the mall in the centre, got some decent suburbs for fortification. Has a good museum as well. Industrial Town (No reference) Got the mills, got the power plant. It’s a city built around its work. It’s not the best looking and kind of run down but it’s got fortification in its few factors as well as strong vehicles with much space. Now the different themes and hard to pull on together on one map well, the best way to handle it would be to set on central theme and then with each city add hints of its features. Layout: Military bases would be sporadic over the map. However there is one big one with decent vehicles. Finally there are the villages/small towns in between. Have a small unique place for a few of the small towns. One has a shooting range, decent loot spawns. One has a decent sized police station with decent spawns and a small jail area (hostage holding fun) One is just off from a small military base The villages just consist of barns and fields, good fortification, not too many zombies but not so much supplies. This is probably too ambitious, but Rocket is pretty damn good.
