I'm not claiming this to be a new idea, mostly just making a new topic with the "urgent" to get attention to the issue, hoping others who agree will keep this topic bumped to get the Dev's attention The reason I think it's "urgent" is due to the fact that the latest hotfix has "fixed" the ammo tracking (mags no longer refill on login)... which is great, infinite ammo is dumb. However, with tents & vehicles not saving properly, we're limited to our character inventory for storage and when I login to the game, it automatically loads a full mag, resulting in many partially used mags in my inventory. Please add some functionality to let us combine these mags into full mags (with the leftovers in 1 mag). I doubt this would be too hard to add to the game and would really help us manage our available space in our inventories.

Title says it all. I've camped one of those hacked in structures with a Thermal AS50 picking off newspawns that try and enter. I ended with 109 kills when I was shot from inside of the building by a noob with a thermal AS50. He ghosted in, obviously. I then went back, and all the noobs has AS50s, and Cherno was filled with idiocy. Rocket, you have to do a full reset of DayZ. Even if you ban all the hackers, the guns are still going to be here, as duping through a tent or a vehicle is so easy it is comical. I know so many people who have done that. There is a reason I never have to travel north, I just kill some snipers in Cherno and have everything I need to snipe in Cherno. The game is just a loot cycle between players, and the infinite supply of loot is coming from the tent dupers. Just remove tents, and remove space on vehicles, then reset the maps. Im tired of killing 5 guys with my DMR only to realize that they all had the exact same set of gear, all utilities, and 6 mags of NATO rounds for the as50 each. Also, I would've prolly been more of a friendly player instead of continuing to be a bandit if you reset humanity upon reimplementation. I have -700,000 humanity, and it keeps going lower and lower, because raising it would be pretty much impossible and not worth my time. Fix your stupid mod Rocket. If there is hacking in the standalone, I am going to get a refund.

Just wanted to say these guys rock. They also offer private hives (two veteran and one hardcore) and they run a tight ship with rules and security. The first veteran server is full and the second is filling up quick. I personally play on the hardcore, which is brand-new, with my friends. Vehicles are working and still unclaimed throught the map and everyone is running around with low tech gear. -
Didn't work for me. I repaired everything and then repaired everything again and it's still leaking fuel. When I found the Huey, only two windscreens were damaged, the tail rotor and avionics and of course the mrotor and engine. The Hull and Missiles were still/already green as was most of the glass. Once everything was repaired I started putting fuel in it. Had a quarter tank and was getting prepped to fly to a fuel station but when I got in it was empty again. So I started again. Thinking I missed something or needed to repair things that were already green I got 4 more scrap metal and 4 more windscreens and went back and re-repaired items that were already green.Hull, Avionics, Vrotor, Missiles. Glass is tricky. Pointing to the right spot to get a list all glass that showed up was already green but I went ahead and replaced it all anyway from the top to the bottom. Assuming the list stays in order and assuming I was pointing to the right spot to get the full list of glass it all got re-repaired. Then we quickly put in 6 Jerry cans and flew to the south-west airfield landing near the fuel tank and two of us went back and forth with 2-3 jerry cans each filling and dumping until it was full. We few around for a while looking for other vehicles, picked up some other friends and landed near the north-west airfield with half a tank left. When we came back a half hour later it was empty. Any suggestions?

I think it's an interesting topic for discussion because I've seen how the hacking, connection issues, artifact glitches, failure of tents and vehicles to save has effected the active player base of a many established clans, and throughout the complaints I'm reminded this an alpha mod for a great game that was never without it's issues. I play Cobalt, KSP and a bunch of other games in their early stages of development and always try to assume the role of supportive tester rather than self-entitled consumer. I've never forced my self to play through really glitchy builds beyond finding and reporting the bugs I'd found. But being part of an active clan, and being in contact with several other active clans, I know we've felt pressured to play through whatever state the mod has been in. This mod gained explosive momentum and I haven't seen so many groups spring up so fast in an alpha FPS in my experience. You can make the argument that this being an unstable build it may be too early to create serious clans, bases etc, but I think most people as Rocket has said see factions as an integral part of this games future. The problem then is keeping clans together and having players want to remain active. This is easy when the the 'fun parts' of the mod are working, when they're creating camps, scavenging for vehicle parts and fighting legitimate battles. But when the fragility of the mod shows it's face and sticks around, it can be a lot harder to keep the voluntary testers wanting to log in on their time off. ----- READ FROM HERE IF YOUR LAZY ----- So that said, I was watching DevilDogGamer a few days ago and he spoke on how his clan were going to move over to a private HIVE because they had become frustrated with the hacking situation. I agree with the majority of what he says "..cant even ban hackers that are ruining the test". It's a good choice of words, and while I feel uncomfortable with the idea that we hacking the mod (which is which is essentially what your doing in running a server not connected to the public HIVE), making our fun paramount, failing to share information with BI and just utilizing Rocket and BIs efforts is properly supportive of DayZ. Maybe it's more important that people want to play and that the community continue to want to support even if that means running private HIVEs before they are fully condoned or supported. If it means positive word of mouth and a sustained player base is it actually more befit than harm. What's your clans take on this, are you running a private HIVE already or thinking of moving to one? Do you think Devil Dogs approach is selfish or unsupported of DayZs progress.

You can't even restart the server if a hacking takes place and you lose your vehicles. This was recently added to server rules somewhere. Your reasons for restarting the server is very, very small. 11. As a server admin you must not: You are not permitted to ban players for killing yourself or clan members. You are not permitted to shutdown your server when your killed. You are not permitted to shutdown your server when you lose a vehicle. You are not permitted to kick or ban for smacktalk. You are not permitted to ban for suspected cheats or exploits of a non-server-disruptive nature, including but not limited to ghosting, unverified cheating, duping and similar, UNLESS you have solid evidence, IE logs. -
Hey all, I run #AU 21 and I've encountered a bunch of issues. Many of which are already filed, but I have not seen anyone bring this up yet. So I'll bring it up... My server is set to UTC+7 (I live in Sydney, UTC+10) so technically at 7pm Sydney time, it is 4pm Game-time. Now that's all well and accurate when I restart the server but as time progresses it gets more and more misaligned. It's like 10mins is 1 minute in game. I logged in at midnight and the sun was just setting behind the mountains, It was supposed to be 9pm! If I restart the server, it is 9pm. It isn't a big deal as the Vehicles/Tent saves but I thought I should mention it. Anyone else encounter it or know a fix (if any)? Server Stats Location: Sydney, Australia Server Time: UTC+7 CPU: 4 vCPUs (virtual) @ 2.8GHz each RAM: 14GB Bandwidth: 300Mb/s Up and Down IP: 103.7.164.23

I've said my spill.. if someone want to take a chance on your comapny I can't stop them, My experience was horrific and your knowledge of time zones and databases are elementary from a technology perspective. How are you going to ask a client to figure out the time zone issue when your database logs show that the server was never set to the correct time zone..and there is no way I lose 2 vehicles from the first restart if the database is setup right. Good luck indeed, your going to need it. -
Are the AS50 and m107 going to be in the standalone?

I don't see anyone mentioning it, but the .50's are necessary because, as long as there's vehicles, then there's a need to be able to take them out. Yes, there's plentiful right now and yes, a simple hive wipe is way overdue. Right now DayZ isn't being played as a survival horror, it's being played as a noob-raping, military sniper want-to-be shooter for those who can't handle playing actual military sim's with other's online. But that's the nature of the mod in it's current state. It's making that style of gameplay possible so naturally people are going to play it that way. When the standalone releases, these issues will be addressed and everyone that want's to play DayZ as it's actually meant to be played can get back to it. -
I have been playing DayZ now for almost 2 months. It has been a blast to say the least, and recently some glitches that seem somewhat specific to certain servers have been getting on my nerves (some servers constantly spawn me in debug plains when I log in). I usually just jump on the lowest ping server when I log in but this has lead to some troubles. Now I'm just looking for a server to call 'home' for me and a couple IRL friends I play with. Something with a pretty stable medium to low pop so hackers aren't as prevalent. Also it seems that a lot of servers are clan dominated in that they have horded most if not all vehicles to one single location, if I could find a server that wasn't heavily clan dominated that would be cool to. So does anyone have any suggestions for a few survivor friends? maybe a server you frequent? Also I live in atlantic canada (hour ahead of EST), so ping may be an issue for certain servers. Thanks!

Hooray! Now we can farm all the gear from all the best locations with no risk of being shot at! We can just put all our tents in the big open fields around the airfield and save all that time hauling loot to our hidden camp! Or, even better, we can put tents full of medical supplies and ammo in all the major pvp areas so they're right there if we need to pop back to our server for a quick patching up and resupply. Heck since we can loot everything on the server now we can put tents with a full gear load-out all along the coast in case we get killed. And vehicles too so we can get right back to the battle-zone on our safe server and then pop back over to where we were fighting! There are so many possibilities! Uh.... no. I (as a server admin) would only support this if password servers were off the public hive. If you want to play by yourself in the corner, fine. But you shouldn't have your own special safe zone. That is really one of the worst ideas ever. I think it would almost completely ruin the game. Just plug the holes for the exploits/hacks ... and add some login/logout timers. -

I did this on my server US1903 and so far items and vehicles have saved. There is still the problem of artifacts but sometimes they are there and sometimes not... as long as you are willing to put up with them the game is actually playable again...btw If it isn't done soon. Everybody will have to watch out for vehicles despawning...huge pain in the ass. -

There's too many of them to single one out. Last night me and my group were able to find 2 vehicles, only to lose everything to a hacker when we managed to steal his vehicle as well. (We killed him, so he killed everyone on the server) Don't let it get to you, I know I don't. -
I am not sure when i was banned or anything because i was playing on a different server yesterday since US 1021 was not updated to the 1.7.2.5 patch yet. Anyways when i noticed it was updated today and i i tried logging in to the server i got a message saying that i was i was banned from the server for inserting a script into the game. I do not know why i was banned for scripting or whatever because i never did such thing. My friend and i were near the edges of the map searching for camps and try to take supplies from them. We stole some a few vehicles, weapons, gear, food, and water. Everything in the vehicles and camps seemed legit so we stole them and hid them in our own camp. So now i cannot access all the gear in side the vehicles. I would really like to get back in the server because of all the gear my friends and i have stored there.

We just started our own server, i can't say for tents but as far as vehicles go - don't even bother. -
We are running 1.7.2.4 on US 23 and when we reverted back to 1.7.2.4 all of our vehicles except 1 offroad pickup reset back to their spawn points. Now all tents save properly and all vehicles save properly. Our chopper even respawned on the island that we had crashed soon as we reverted back.

No, if the server is running 1.7.2.5 then it's just bugs. Tell them to revert back to 1.7.2.4 and all the Vehicles will more than likely reset back to their original spawn points like they did for us -

I thought it was just a bunch of bigoted, racist anti-semites abusing the anonymity of the internet that, in addition to not enjoying the fact that there are more important things for Rocket and the team to do than pandering to children on a forum (like, I dunno, actually developing the mod?), don't enjoy being beaten by people better than they are. Yes, the tents/vehicles aren't working at the moment. Suck it up. You're not meant to retain your gear through death anyway. -
Im kind of getting bored just stalking around Chernarus, so I decided to help YOU. Im willing to Bodyguard Traders(on any EU server), help survivors in need/"Noobs" on my Server(DE1622). So you might ask what "help" you can expect from me. I help via Supplys,Tips(wich maybe just helpfull to new Survivors), transportation(as soon as the hive decides my server should spawn some vehicles), help against bandits and last but not least you can join me and my guys (if we decide we can trust you) while playing so you dont have to lone wolf all the time. What you have to do to get my help is just send me a message and i will give you all the infos My Humanity is at 12000 ( Screenshot may be added at request), Also you can post your experience in this thread so others who may be a bit paranoid;) can read your feedback.

vehicles spawn are randomly selected when the server starts(same as helicrash), but some olds servers have no vehicles spawn coz players takes all vehicles and put them into their hided base in these server, the only way to respawn vehicles is to destroy vehicles and server restart but atm with bugged save, it's impossible to respawn vehicles on theses servers, i think if u saved it before bugged patch comes out it's stay, but now it's not -

Hi there! Admins dont have the ability to do anything at all, but rather refer to that in another thread, seems to be a lot that clarify what admins can do - wiping a server aint one of these things. So, to your actual problem: currently with 1.7.2.5 alot of servers, if not all, dont save the inventory of tents and vehicles, plus the latter ones will also get reset to their spawn positions on server restart. A bug we're suffering from for quite a few days now, but cant do anything else than wait for the devs to fix it. While we're trying to get around that and at least have people enjoy their stockpile for a couple days by avoiding any server reboot, theres still the occasional reboot by our server provider which we cant do anything about. Just have to live with it. In the end, admins and clan members on that server are probably suffering just as you are and everyone else that is currently still playing DayZ and has that crap occur. (Just to clarify: Im not admin of US1166 nor have anything to do with that server) -
On every servers are the same stuff?or some servers dont have so many vehicles and goods?i found quadbike..thats all:) v3s:D..czech made truck:D.i found lots of guns(m4 with granade luncher,mk48,AS50,mp5sd,m249,night vision and some other)but no vehicle at all:(...i fear have good weapons with me:D.if someone saw me, then kill me instatly

All Items in vehicles disappear after server restart

Vehicles go back to where they were saved on the last patch. Fortunately thats back at our base thingy. Although its impossible to save things in the vehicles now. Ive noticed its possible to dupe items through removing a weapn or whatever then adding it to your inventory somewhere, rebooting the server will mean the item is still in the tent or vehicle, and also a duplicate in your pack. -
I don't think they anticipated vehicles being so valuable when they made Arma 2. In Arma 2 OA, the ATV is just a cheap ride, and if you wreck one you can just get another.
