I would personally like to see more reskins of items, Ballistic vests need some more colors ex. Brown, if possible removing the "press" patch and having just the vest itself. Maybe some more variants of civ clothing, oversized flannels, torn jeans, unique rider jackets. hooded variants of hoodies, raincoats. For military gear possible reskins of all the military gear ex. a new camo patterns for gorka gear, or combat gear, also BDU's. as well as implementing the DPM boonies camo for clothes along with the Flecktarn and m81 woodland camos for military fatigues. For specifically mods; planes and helicopters are wayyy out of the way rn for vehicles and, 2 wheeled vehicles are really hard to code as well effectively. But maybe a pickup truck that could have people in the bed and or a larger storage like the olga with 400 slots. I would also like to see weapon storage, the gun racks in game would be a very cool start but base building in a whole could use a revamp but, i feel like something like that is more down the line. Personally i would like to see attachments for backpacks and more attachments for belts, ex. Straps on backpacks to store, bottles, tripods, one weapon, arrows. For belts Flashlight loops, mag storage, leg holsters ETC. just some ideas that sounds really neat on paper and would love to see in game -

One of the DayZ team people said years ago something like: Four wheeled vehicles are not working perfectly right now (years ago) and two wheeled vehicles a lot more complicated. -
I would like a more survival-oriented DayZ: * - leather work. * - handcrafted bow and arrows. * - more advanced constructions such as layout on the ground, height, resistance. * - fewer weapons and war equipment. * - modification on clothes and equipment * - etc... and also much, much more realism: * - also fish from the piers. * - crops like once upon a time that didn't rot in an hour. (perhaps selectable, in private servers, the duration of the plants and the periodicity of the fruits). * - tents can also be positioned inside the woods on undulating and steep terrain. * - fire like it used to be, inside the houses and inside the woods. * - backpacks and clothes can be stored full in containers and cars (the space occupied can be calculated based on the objects contained to avoid "abuse"). * - the vehicles... FINALLY... functioning normally like any other "normally written" game... Maybe with spaces in the trunk specifically dedicated to backpacks. Also nice to be able to use the rear seats by alternating players/backpacks/crates/barrel/chest... as in reality. * - Being able to use objects of any kind even inside vehicles, as in reality... weapons (reloading, repairing, shooting, etc...), repair/medical kits (repairing boots, clothes, cure yourself, etc... .), food (opening boxes, eating, drinking, etc...) I know that I will never see all this, given the trend of DayZ over the years, but some suggestions could be taken... maybe... 😉

But you know that they made that on purpose? So people dont stack barrels or chests on roads to block roads for other people with vehicles.

Good to hear that you still think about AI improvements. I hope that in the future you will find more resources to improve that part of the game so infected will be treated more seriously by the game veterans. Maybe that would bring more cooperation between players, there will be bigger motivation for random players to help each other. You can take some inspirations from modding community. There were few mods that touched on that topic and you could pick few things from it and polish it. For example: how to stop the abuse situation when player hits infected from above and AI is competely helpless. Some people tried to make infected's attack bigger so they could reach player's feet and hit it, it kinda works but sometimes its hard to estimate how AI can reach you. Others added jumping/teleporting ability for AI so they can climb on higher spaces but its sketchy for now, lot of flying infecteds and misplacements due to missing animations or ingame methods/features for such actions. I dont know whats your opinion about this, but since infected can climb on a wall (even one with barbred wire asset) and jump over it, it would be logical to let them climb vehicles wrecks and small walls. But of course its tricky and I guess it would require a lot of work from navmesh point of view. So maybe it would be easier to add some new types of infected? Like a poisonous/contaminated ones that can inflict some kind of venomous damage on a player standing in certain radious around such infected. It should be able to reach players standing on a wrecks, so it would block the possibility of standing here. Player would be forced to run away or hide in a building, preferably in a one containing extra upper floor. - Apart from that, Im really waiting for the February article but Im worried that you will not spoil a lot 🤣 and there are many speculations circling about the future, especially regarding Enfusion. Anyway, looking forward for new updates, good luck.

You may recognize me from the DayZ mod or Arma 3 Epoch and Exile addons I created! Our Namalsk Survival Expansion server is a PVE server with PVP zones clearly marked. Building is not possible in these zones. Your base is safe from being damaged. There are custom traders and custom quests for your enjoyment as well as the garage feature to safely stow your vehicles at night! We've even got a custom Blackmarket trader. Our Discord has one of the largest populations of a community running Namalsk. We desperately want to expand our player base for DayZ (We also run a Rust server and a Scum server).
