You forgot to mention the hours upon hours of not playing and scrolling through logs trying to find the little turds teleporting and thunderdoming players. You also forgot to mention the butthurt teenagers that lose a vehicle and then blame the admins, and who then post that the server admins are cheating on 4chan and Reddit, causing the server to receive ddos attacks and floods of cheaters "looking for revenge." Then there are the players who do receive bans posting locations of all the camps and vehicles on the server, regardless of who owned them or not, just to get revenge against the admins. Bloody difficult to admin a server and a thankless task at that. Looking forward to the standalone.

dogact, I was one of the people there on the island when you were there. For the record, I had a blast. You did not kill me, you killed two people, and almost killed a third. If you were in the ghillie, I had you in my sights, then saw your buddy, decided not to fire(I wasn't sure I could take you both), and followed you both for a while until you disappeared(Now I know you DC'd). A couple things I would like to note: 1. The camps on that island were placed there with painstaking trips from that stupid slow boat. It's very annoying. They are all legit. 2. The server reset during it's normal scheduled reset. This happened at 4pm EST. Before the server reset, the two members you killed made their way back to the island. They made their way to their bodies, but then when the server reset, they were missing their items, which was another adventure. We got gear, patched up our 3rd buddy you almost killed, and headed to the chopper spawn. We repaired the chopper from the stuff we had in the tents, and took off. Our leak in our gas tank was rough, so we went to go gas up in Three vallies. We started taking fire, but our gas tank was low, so I told our pilot we had about 30 seconds to land the bird. He hung in the air too long, and about 40 feet from the ground, we ran out of gas, and crashed the chopper. I survived with 47 blood after I finished bandaging. So, for for the record, we did not cheat or anything along those lines. We had an amazing time on the island, it was full of intensity that I rarely get anymore in the game. We lost that chopper fair and square, and I logged off shortly thereafter, to deal with some stuff IRL. What took place after we left: HFB servers have sent out a letter indicating they were re-adding some features they had taken out some time ago due to server instability. About an hour after I left, the server connection was at yellow for more than 20 minutes, and no one could access tents, items, or vehicles. One of our admins reset the server and reverted the version to avoid this from happening again. Our server(And others? I don't know) has a bug right now where nothing saves. Vehicles return back to where they were after every reset, tents wont save items in them unless a brand new tent is placed down. Anything destroyed before a reset returns to its original spot after reset. So it's pretty frustrating right now. This certainly isn't something we've done by design; I think it's plaguing the entire community. If that makes you feel any better, cool. I had a great time stalking you yesterday. If it doesn't make you feel any better or you're suspect, I'm sorry. It's the truth of the matter, and there isn't much more I can say. As for ww THE TODD ww: You have been logged ghosting on our server. This is unacceptable behavior, and against the spirit of the game. You may accuse us of resetting our servers blah blah, but you don't see the messages from HFB or the problems the server has in general. Attack us, kill us, steal our shit; all of that is well and good. Cheat when you do it, and it's lame. As soon as a server admin comes on, you will likely be banned. We gave you a chance after we suspected you of cheating, and you decided to do so again.

I want to reach out and choke some of the people who play on my it and give their 'input' on how it should be run when you can tell on a glance that they've clearly never hosted a server / community before in their life. You people have some nerve to stand up in a chat group we specifically made for this server and tell us how shitty of admins we are because we do such things like restart the server when it's slow and restart it when tents / vehicles / deployable wire and such don't come up on start. Really brilliant genius. I mean we spend our collective money on a place for you to come in and play and the only thing you can do is bitch about how it runs? Granted, there are those who like and appreciate the fact that we are doing this and they say so in the chat, but some of you cocksuckers have a lot of nerve. I've seen everything from people ESP hacking finding our camp and then for days on end logging in to mark it over and over for days on end until we literally gave up and completely moved camp. We haven't been hacked quite as bad as everyone else and I consider this a bout of luck, but we've got our share of dumbass's that's for sure. When will people figure out that just short of admins using hacks themselves that we can't spawn vehicles, weapons, gear of any kind. We are normal players on the server with the ability to restart it now and then to make it go smoother. We can't see you on the map, we can't teleport to you and kill you with a button. We can't see your camp, we can't see your truck, we can't see anything except what every other Tom, Dick, and Harry can see. And we make mistakes. God forbid. Couple of days ago we had a duo from Brazil come on our server and were server hopping till they found a chopper. We frown on server hopping but it's not a ban offense for us. We had just updated to 1.7.2.5 and little did we know all vehicles that were destroyed on the map reset when the server is updated. So our chopper had crashed a few days prior and we had been checking almost every hour at both spawns to see if it had come back. We updated the server and these two hopped in and boom, free chopper. They fix it up and fly it to the NW airfield. I get to NW airfield and see it hovering there and shoot the hell out of it with a DMR, after two clips the pilot says "Shit i'm being shot!" and flies off. We figure, shit, choppers up already? Must be spawned in. So we say to the people online "If you're flying the chopper please come to chat." We then tell them how to get to the chat room and give them 15 minutes to get there. We update this every 5 minutes and at 15 minutes on the dot we shut the server down. After the server shut down of course the two people come into the chat channel and start complaining. We ask where they got the chopper and they dick dance around actually telling us where they got it, they said - Oh you don't know where it spawns so we won't tell you. What kind of brain dead moron thinks he gets asked to come to a chat channel only so we can ask you where the chopper spawns? Dude have you ever heard of Google? Do they not have this in Brazil? We're giving you a chance to explain where the shit came from. How hard is it to say "Oh we found it on the island spawn.". Done, thanks, continue on, your chopper is probably back on the island because you didn't save it. Shit, we would have even LOCKED THE SERVER so you could go get it back and therefore be A-O.K. after that, but nope they nerd rage about how they've lost the chopper now because we brought it down. They then start being racist saying how fucking Americans and Canadians are useless and how this is a shit community and oops, now your ass got banned. Admins get a shit rap sometimes, we really do. We get our good and we get our cheese dick majority who seem to think we're a bunch of useless fucks with nothing better to do then ruin your free time on a free server that you connect to and don't even OFFER to fork a fucking penny over. Not that i'm asking for it, but it would be thoughtful for someone to say "Hey man if I wanted to donate, how would I do that?" Shit man I wouldn't take the money but you know damn good and well I would appreciate the offer. I know there are some people who could give two damns about a server and how it is running. I know there are people who could care less if hackers are ruining your game or not. I know there are admins who spawn cheat weapons and shit and use them on players. News flash. We're not one of them. We ban for barracks hopping. We ban for combat logging, combat dodging, Alt F4'ing out of combat. We ban for racism and racist names. We ban for hacking, scripting, duping gear. Our ping limit is set to 150 and will kick anyone above that. We try to run a very tight ship because we want our server to run smoothly. I'm not asking for your sympathy, i'm asking for you to not lump every admin you encounter in with the rest of these retards. |------------------------------------------------| TL;DR : Get off the balls of the admins. Buckett, check out Billy May's Chicago Private Server. You have to goto BMRF.ME to register on their website, and provide them with your player ID. This is how you get whitelisted and allowed into the server. If you don't go through this process, the server will auto-kick you every time. Pretty neat feature. I believe the settings are 3D:ON CH: OFF. No waypoints. Veteran server. It's always high pop, and there's always an admin present. It's the only private hive I'll play on. They do add extra vehicles, I believe. Almost double, but generally it's not like you see them all over the place(breaking immersion). It's still very well run. You'll have to deal with side chat antics, but thats the case with all private servers.

Server restarts occur at 5AM. And along with that it's performance restarts which will be announced 10-30minutes before the restarts(In global chat). Server is set at [GMT-8] Vehicles works just fine and about the tents, sure you can place them but the contains inside can still be quite glitchy due to the dayz patch. Not server config. I got my tent to work and all the items inside but maybe i was lucky

Get a group of friends (3-4), get the Russian 4x4, and drive around Stary/Vybor/Dirt roads looking for Heli spawns. It really helps if you can have a home server, make friends with the admins, that kind of thing. ATVs are common, check the bridges around Solinichy, as they flip on them. Check vehicle spawns repeatedly using the DayZDB map. Run around the northern and western boundaries looking for tent cities Tents are borderline permanent right now, whats in them doesn't ever disappear, taking stuff out and flattening them doesn't do anything. We currently have a boatload (5-7) AS 50s, 107s, a few SVDs, 1 L85, 240, 249, NVGs, DMRs and M4 Holos. We do not intentionally dupe anything, all of the AS50s were accumulated from helis or survivors. When moving campsites, we've taken all of our stuff out, moved it, only to have it eaten/respawn in old tents on restarts. We are not exploiting the game. The last campsite we raided was east of Stary. Were just running and found the red UAZ in a tree and campsite nearby. As we were looting it, 4 guys in a Russian 4x4 rolled up, and met their deaths by an SVD and L85, and we got both of their vehicles. Gearing up is easy, you just have to know where to look, and AS50/NVG/107 people are NOT hackers, they're probably just better than you.

Just woke up. Felt good to sleep in on a sunday. I pop open my ACP panel, and check my remoteexec.log. Sure enough, it's recorded entries recently. So I dig in. To my surprise I see a long list of guilty people. When all is said and done, I've banned TWENTY ONE people in the last 20 minutes. From trying to spawn vehicles, to blatant invisibility cheats, to a teleport, to attempting to kill the server. It's truly laughable. If anyone wants a list of GUIDS for you to add to your server, PM ME.

I am not a server owner, but back in 1.7.2.4 this happened to us on DE 376. Each time the server restarted, all inventories of vehicles and tents were emptied.

I've got the opposite impression, all the DE servers I joined lately were clean, even the vehicles were where they're supposed to be. And those servers were 25+ people.

Agree, the "save" menu option has no place in this game. Looking through the server code, however it does seem that tents and vehicles within 20 meters of your position are saved automatically when you log out, but I can't understand the point of this logic at all. I don't understand why saving isn't automatic every time gear is added or removed from tents or vehicles.

im not that informed about the way, the mod dayz is working on, but i found out there is a hack to glitch items and vehicles. Maybe its because of thoose hackers that smthng runs wrong while a hacker uses a hacked helicopter and a real one gets destroyed then he doesnt respawn? just an idea, but if its a one on one rate of destroyed one and respawning it could be that smthng goes wrong if the client (or what ever) is checking for the count of helicopters when one gets destroyed he finds out "oh all is fine, enough helis are spawned" the hacked one disapears and the client wont check again becuase there is no heli which could get destroyed again.... could be, couldnt it?

1: server us 29 2: 8/19/12 12:00pm east coast time (-4 gmt) 3: cords 003 - 067 saw a few players in it but do dint get any names, I Personally saw 30 portable generators, 20 something soldiers cloths and other things that were spawned In but I don't know how to describe. Also several rotb grenades. Looked like 20+ tents and several vehicles and the middle of some trees. Cords fairly accurate as I had gps After i found the camp I was teleported to coast with the rest of the server and then teleported into the sky Friend confirmed it was still there today and has flattened tents but will of course pop back up at next restart. Unsure what you can do about it but felt it was best to report it

I have the logs of LU65 and I am pretty sure there were some hackers on the server at that moment (teleporting, god mode, wallhacks, aimbot and spawning forbidden vehicles). But how do I detect them? Can somebody tell me how to pin down who is hacking and who not, or can somebody check the log for me?

Still looking, thought I found a good server, but they allowed vehicle purchase through donations to the server. So the whole "survivor scenario" was thrown out.. Basically a FPS with zombies and vehicles. Logged in and literally saw 2 choppers, 3 cars, and 2 motorcycles in 20 minutes... Thought I was playing Sims : Zombie Apocalypse

Off topic reply about the hacked gun. But I agree... either way madhatter is upset exp..players on his server found his vehicles and.claimed them.for themselves. This guy DCed to avoid death by my mad driving skillz so why qq that I did when he ghosted.above us?

So I tried logging in to one of my favorite servers and I get this message BattlEye Banned (you may have cheated). I can still join other server except for US 1726. I really like that server because that is where all my tents and vehicles I've spent hours searching and fixing. I've worked hard on that server to get all my stuff and all legal.. What does it mean? was i banned by admin? banned by battleye? can it be fix?

The other mirrors only have DayZ-1.7.2.5 file. I thought there were 7 files in total ex; vehicles, sdx, anim, ect.

My skype is TylerIsTooPro. I roll with a small group about 5 total but normally only 2 at a time. I have been playing with them the last week and have had the craziest experiences of my Dayz life. It all started with me and all of us meeting for the first time. We finally join the same server only for a hacker to spawn us in the top right corner of the map, we quickly log off and hop onto another server. Lo and behold all the way up in the middle of no where we find a PBX speedboat! We all drop off at skalitsky(Spelled wrong I know) island. The next day we log on it is daytime and we explore the island finding 5 camping tents full of loot: NVG's,Rangefinders,M4A3 CCO, and all that stuff. We log off and get back on later that night ( a different server) and right there on skalitsky there is a helicopter which then takes us 3 hours to fix. (That swim blows) and fly it to the military tents in stary only to find a bus! We then hide all our new goodies and log off. the next day all of our vehicles had despawned! So we walk back to the shore and meet up again, a couple of us had died somehow. everyone else logged off and I walked towards stary again only to find a fully functioning helicopter in the field next to the military tents. (This was a different server btw) I then proceeded to try and land it but end up blowing up the heli instead. *Cringe*. Oh, and we ended up getting a red sedan yesterday with a DMR and a m4a1 holo. Admin from US 2257 I can confirm that a hacker teleported all the vehicles. We also had another incident of this today. Our response was to restart the server so that the vehicles would go back to their last saved positions. Also thank you Timmyboy04 for having that recorded as I was not online at the time of the first incident.

Playing Dayz Lingor is a whole new game to me. And much better I think. More vehicles, less buggy, very few skriptdiddies, loot everywhere and more frequent and more thrilling player encounters. Find a dead body every 100m lol - its less about the zed and the loot and more about doing stuff, exploring a whole new island and for me the PvP.

On my Server the Vehicles Dissapear to there Spawn Postion after restart. (Yes i saved!)
