So are most servers that are 1.7.2.5 experiencing despawning tents and emptied out tents after server restarts? I do enjoy fixing up cars and the suspense that some guy is watching me fix it up and shoot me once I'm done so they could take it away but doing that every night I play is kinda tiring. Vehicles despawn even though I save it and tents appearing empty or just plain vanish. Does playing on older version servers stop the despawning or is this just another server specific problem? I know 1.7.3 is coming out soon but there really is no official release other than other people in forums saying it after gamescon.

Hello, me and some friends just bought a server and we noticed all our vehicles and some of the tens went missing. So we headed here and found out that the saving of vehicles is buggy..? Is it still not possible to save vehicles? Cause this is one of the reasons for us to go on with DayZ at all. I mean once you're fully equipped the only thing you want is a car/truck or a bike. We already managed to get a Bus running, an Ural and two bikes and an ATV. But all of that (inlcuding some of our tents) went missing - next day it was all gone! This really annoys us and starts to let us think about DayZ and if it makes sense to play it with these issues.... I honestly think it is unplayable because of that. Is there any fix in sight? Does this happen to all of you? Please bring us some light into our darkness cause we really don't know what is happening.. Greetings!

Group looking for a stable new home!
kaindebuddy replied to Zhandris's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
you are welcome to check out LU385 (ip: 94.242.227.202:2362) we are a relative new server that has a few regular groups playing on it. however we would love to get some more. i think we meet all your requirements and we got a good connection if you are located in europe i am a very active admin that you are always welcome to contact directly if there is any issues, and i try my best to be a good one. server is updated whit the latest security patch whit custom anti cheat protection. recently we rerolled to patch 1.7.2.4 from 1.7.2.5 so now all vehicles and tents are working again :) -
I've had a camp on a decently populated server for well over a month with multiple vehicles and tents and it's yet to be found. It's still possible that my camp can be found but it is extremely unlikely. Also as a proud owner of a helicopter no one besides us has a camp that is mostly safe on the server we play on. It doesn't take a long time to cover vast distances and tents and vehicles stick out like sore thumbs from 200ft up.

What threats? What are you even talking about you mess... seriously have a word. With regards to Zippy we saw him on your Teamspeak we assumed he was in the clan.. nothing to do with UX... yes he's sitting on your Teamspeak..(which has a password) with all your clan (yourself included)... mate do us a favour get off your high horse.. check your 'bullshit facts' there's only one person talking 'garbage' here and that you and your cobblers. We saw you all log in. I think you're doing the whole thread a favour by 'ignoring me' because your clan already has one village idiot I don't need to deal with another one. Love it. UX have no vehicles... we've found a tractor and bikes near your 'old bases' which we happened to get killed at the other day. Cheerio

1.7.2.5 vehicles getting deleted
RaysGoodLiquor replied to J-B's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I saved a fully repaired, fueled, and loaded ATV and GAZ. Logged in the next day, and there out in the deep, deep, deep North, were two broken buses sitting where I had hidden the vehicles. I wasn't sure what happened, because I'm not sure how you get 2 broken buses out into the middle of nowhere, and one had a Mountain Dew in it. I assumed it was scripters or hackers because of the Dew, but you're the only other person I've heard say something about it. -
Just letting you guys know you just had a hacker on the server. 5PM PDT 24Aug. there was only 5 people (including myself) online. This person teleported all the vehicles east of Nizhnoye. I was flying the huey at the time. It nearly broke but i was able to fly off, until he teleported me into the water killing me. I believe the player to be Nicoli as he is a name i havent seen on and the other 3 have been on before and for some time before this happened. I took a Screenshot of all players on at the time right after i died from the lobby. When I am on i'm in your guys vent with my group of guys that run around with me. Seen 3 of you on a few times in game but none of you ever come in the vent Edit: It actually is Memphis. I ran back to the vehicles and found him driving around and creating more. Update: I logged back in and recorded some footage of the place after he left the area as well.

From battleye.com: "No one is banned for using non-hack programs (like Fraps, overlays, etc.), picking up or using hacked in-game items, weapons or vehicles, being on a server at the same time as a cheater, or other passive non-cheating activity. Therefore all requests mentioning these things as possible reasons for the global ban are ignored."

Need Medical Assistance? We can help.

Added, at Guglovo right now ** Free bike and unrepaired vehicles for any medics blown up/sick of the hike! -
I second the shooting out of vehicles, and you all have my beans :) I think shooting out of vehicles is a good idea, however only on certain vehicles. A bus, for instance, should not have that feature, whereas a car should. Perhaps you can only shoot if you're in the seat across from the driver? Just throwing out suggestions here. Also, some of the vehicles up top would work, but I agree with Kyzahh, that truck with a machine gun (also known as a technical) would be good to add. Maybe you could even be able to attach a LMG to the offroad pickup, making a makeshift technical like this? http://www.kairosautonomi.com/images/Nissan_Truck_Technical.jpg Just tossing out ideas though.

Playing a bugged Alpha legitimately - you serious? We can talk about a legitimate style of playing when tents and vehicles work, you're not spawning on the beach again for no reason, or spawn in the debug forrest losing all your gear, break your bones by crawling into a bush/walk on plain field, ... Until then it's just whatever suits your fun (except hacked player killing and hacking in stuff that's not supposed to be in the game). If it were M4A3 SD's they were hacked. But I guess you meant M4A1 SD's. BTT: Let's just say there are definitely "decent" spots to hide tents. Not saying they won't ever be found, but chances are relatively slim. Just don't take the most obvious spots.

1.7.2.5 vehicles getting deleted
intensity (DayZ) replied to J-B's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I dunno, vehicles seem a bit bugged. I found a bike which was hidden by another player and I took it. Later on I stashed it and saved it couple times. When I logged on later it was gone, I figured someone stole it. I checked again and there it was, hidden in the same spot where I originally found it. It could be that only the first save matters, just like tents. Or it's just fucked and who the hell knows wtf is going on lol. -
There is nowhere safe to hide tents or vehicles in this game. They are both too easy to spot through the trees, tents stick out something awful because of the shape and vehicles because the glass makes them stand out. The game needs denser thicker forests with more bushes and smaller trees placed in between the bigger trees to make it easier to hide things. As it is you can stand on one side of a forest and scan right through it unless the gradient of the ground prevents you seeing something. Some sort of effective camo netting would be a nice addition
-
Mmm, why not I guess, though it should increase fuel consumption and reduce acceleration due to the added weight. The term "bulletproof" isn't actually used either, since enough firepower will break it. It also wouldn't stop shots through the vehicle bodywork (which actually offers very little in the way of protection). Overall, I have no real opposition to the idea, but if it was modelled accurately then it wouldn't be hugely useful; vehicles could still be easily disabled and players could still be killed relatively easily even if they couldn't be shot through the windscreen without it taking a lot of bullets..

US 23 - Now on Vilayer's Hive! Teamspeak Server, Live Streaming Channel, CONTEST COMING SOON! Prize: Computer Parts
echosyp replied to echosyp's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Actually, we are probably going to upgrade to .5. It kind of sucks that we are losing players because we are not on .5 and nobody is willing to downgrade to keep tents and vehicles. But I guess we can upgrade to see if anyone else will join us. -
1.7.2.5 Tents and Vehicle Inventories not saving.
Bubba Jones replied to NocturnalS1n's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Vehicles are hit and miss from what I've seen. Note, these are from my experiences, so you may see different results. Here's what I do with them: Have one person repair a vehicle, load all gear in it, and then save it once. If I do that, I can usually keep a vehicle about 50% of the time after a server restart. However, I've done the above (for example with a V3S last night), and then today after a restart it magically turned into a bike instead. We've had buses turn into bikes as well after a restart. Honestly though, for now if you try and repair a vehicle there's a decent chance all of your work will be for naught and the vehicle will just get reset, so be prepared for a lot of wasted time. If you steal a vehicle from someone, move it to the location and DON'T save it - if you do it seems to get reset on the next server restart. That means you can't modify items in it. Again, ymmw. -
Not so sure about the windowed seats, but yeah, people should defo be able to shoot out of (most) vehicles.

Abandoned Vehicles and Car Parts
DemonGroover replied to DemonGroover's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I suppose you are right about the hot wiring already being in game. My point is that there should be a lot more vehicles which are not burnt out wrecks. And you should definitely be able to salvage parts. Maybe even move them into positions for ambushes or create barriers. -

We do not plan on updating to .5. As tents and vehicles do not save properly on that patch. Which is why we are still on .4. We are waiting on 1.7.3 to come out and then we will upgrade. -
I was wondering what everyone else would think about this idea. New items/additions to the game: Handheld CB Radio - Enables the side chat channel. Can read and write. (CB radios come mounted inside construction and military vehicles) Batteries - For the handheld CB of course! Battery status icon possibly? Locations of handhelds: Police stations, fire stations, hospitals, military bases, construction yards. What do you think about this?
-
Another one to add to the list that would be a bit more common I think than the military vehicles as these are quite popular with the taliban etc. I'd also like to see a mechanic where you're able to shoot out of the vehicles as a passenger in the standalone.

The cool night time breeze swept across the fields and trees, it was a fairly bright evening and the moon was full providing an unusual amount of vision for this time of night. The two men now huddled on opposite sides of the fire, tucked away into the dense forest. They had set up camp for the evening along a ridge that overlooked the hills to the east, their fire just out of view. The soldier looked at Tim, in his worn out jeans, blue plaid shirt and brown worn cap. He is a man of strong build, broad shoulders and a solid weight, even though he clearly had not been eating enough recently. Their gear was leaned up against a tree facing the fire, packed with canned food and soda, ammo for Tim's hunting rifle and other survival gear Tim had found along his on-going migration. Tim looked at the fire, eyes glossy "Where were we supposed to go, back to the evacuation points? Those were cleared out weeks ago, the army left behind eveything at their sites. Everything from guns, packs, ammo and supplies, hell even some vehicles got left behind, ones they couldn't air-lift out of there. No there was nothing to do post-evacuation except survive, there was nowhere to go, nobody to help us anymore; you were completely on your own, abandoned. The government wanted to contain it, that was priority number one, keep the fucking virus within Chernarus and everthing else fell behind that. No more emergency air drops for food and water (at that time we didn't know the virus wasn't in the water supply) no more patrols in the streets except along the borders, and there was certaintly no more broadcasts from the mountain, one day we woke up and everything was quiet, no more radio chatter, no more emergency broadcast on the television, just total isolation; we had been cut off. You know back when it started nobody knew what it was, you didnt hear about people being attacked until much later and by then, if you weren't on a helicopter or a jet out of there, you were fucked man. No chance. We all heard rumors of course, there wasn't much to go off though, the army was always testing some new jet, or firing some new high-tec gun they just poured three billion dollars into -hell there are three fuckin' military airfields within 250km of each other." [He strokes the fire with a stick and piles on another log to the contained fire] "Well i'm sure you remember those first few weeks when people tried juming the quarantined zones, must have been 40 or 50 people shot dead, right there on the spot, poor bastards. They were just trying to get the fuck out of there, most of them probably weren't even infected, but who knows?" Marcus: [Where were you from, originally i mean.] "Gorka, i was lucky i got reports of the infections along the southern coast before it hit the smaller towns to the north, there really wasn't much of a forward notice though, i think i heard about it spreading a day before it hit Polana, not far from where i was, you heard of the Polana outbreak right?" [Marcus nods, scanning the area slowly with his cold eyes.] "Jesus man, can you imagine? They say it was the evacuee's fleeing Electro, hundreds of 'em. They flooded the town looking for aid at around midnight, unfortunately they didn't realize that behind them was the masses of infected they were running from. How could they know? The army's blockade back in the city had failed, the infected had overrun the men in uniform and were now pouring out into the countryside, right after their food. Around 2 am the first packs arrived from the south, by sunrise nobody was left. Four-thousand civillians infected or eaten that night, fucking christ man." Marcus: "Did you... did you have any family here before?]" "No-" Tim pauses, as if he has heard something "My neighbor-" [The soldier motions for Tim to be quiet holding up his hand, and getting lower to the ground. The surrounding bushes and foliage are sufficient enough to hide the dim light from the fire to passersby, but Tim quickly pours dirt all over it, vanquishing the flame instantaneously. Over the hillside the two men lay low looking through the bushes, rifles drawn.] Tim using his scope on the old hunting rifle: "Group of three, or four maybe. 300 metres ahead, just below the tree-line. They're heading for the stream i think, they might have a sniper, they seem organized." [The men now talked in a low whisper, barely audible even to eachother watching as the group of three men moved quickly across the clearing. They were fanned out, at least five yards apart from eachother but clearly in formation. The man in the front thrust his hand into the air balled up into a fist. The other two men stopped at once, crouched aiming their weapons.] "Uh-oh" said Tim "they spotted something." [The man in the front held two fingers from his right hand in the hair, resembling a peace sign, then with his pointer finger he pointed to the left, immediately after he pointed to the right. The two men behind him moved quickly forward on either side of him, into the tall grass encroaching before the stream ahead] "This isn't good man" said Tim as he looked through his makeshift scope taped to his hunting rifle "there's a man down there, a fourth." "With them? With that group?" asked marcus. "No, he has his hands up in the air, i can make out some of his words -i think he's begging. Those bastards!" [The elderly man with his hands up began weeping, looking into his killer's eyes, Tim could make out a few words 'please-this-just-water-kids- a shot rang out. It echoed through the hills past Tim and Marcus, as the elderly man slumped forward first to his knees then face first into the muddy ground beneath him, the blood from the bullethole in his forehead streaming into the water and dirt.] "Damn it" said Tim as he lowered his rifle and crawled back behind the foliage to the now extinguished fire pit "just once i would like to see that play out differently." Marcus looked terrified, staring at Tim as if he had just witnessed an alien abduction. "Wait a goddamn second here, that- that right there, you've seen that before? Like, people just-" "Look soldier boy, this isn't fucking training camp anymore! You thought you were gonna parachute down here and only have to deal with the infected you left behind? Newsflash kid, you left about ten thousand healthy people here when everything went dark, of that let's assume that 90 -no no, 95 percent of those people are now dead or infected. That still leaves roughly five hundred souls, scared shitless, starving and looking to do nothing but stay alive, what you just saw sums up pretty much the daily routine here; kill or be killed." Marcus looked down at his shoulder patch with their country's emblem sewn on, he couldn't help but feel like this wasn't home anymore. "So i guess they were right about renaming this place huh? Sector-Z." "Welcome to Chernarus." END SCENE.

the game already has a "hot-wiring system" implemented. how else do you think you can hop in someone's car and drive off with it? adding keys to the game would just be clunky, obnoxious, and make it almost impossible to steal vehicles. it's a game and realism should only be taken so far - how many people do you think turned into zombies with their keys in their vehicles? most likely very, very few. the vast majority would have either run out of gas or been blocked by roadblocks, turned off their vehicle, and continued their journey on foot with their keys in their pockets. they could have made it miles from their vehicles before either dying or being turned into zombies. if they died from gunshots or were consumed by zombies, the keys would be left on the ground with their slowly decaying clothing and likely lost amongst the other clutter on the ground. if they turned into a zombie, well, what use do zombies have for keys? as a hungry zombie stumbles and runs through Chernarus, those keys could easily fall out of its pockets. and given time the keys would certainly fall out as the clothes begin to decay and tear from exposure to the elements and who knows what. but let's imagine you're a particularly lucky survivor and you find a pair of pants on a corpse in a supermarket with keys in the pockets. now what? you don't know what vehicle these keys belong to. if the roads are, as you say, littered with vehicles then you're going to have one hell of a time finding the single vehicle that will accept this key. maybe the vehicle is a burning hunk 5 miles south, but you have no way of knowing that. the keys that you just found are effectively useless to you. i say it's a damn good thing that DayZ assumes you know how to hotwire any vehicle you find. as for increasing the amount of useable vehicles on the map, yes it should be implemented and yes it has been mentioned many, many times before.

All 'fine' vehicles should be drivable(eventually, after repairs) IMO I'd rather have more vehicle choices and fuel being more rare, than what it is now.
