Are vehicles going to go back to their spawn point after a server restart even if i save them?

Thanks for the group Namyar, it was fun getting those vehicles running, and I really appreciate the spare gear you gave me. It's great to roll with friendly helpful players, makes a nice change from the lone wolf playstyle. :)

Only the huey. Other vehicles can reset their damage state and if they blow up they can spawn back at last place they were saved. And gear in them can disapear.

Well im glad its not just me that this is happening too... Im currently fixing my SEVENTH chopper as i type this and i think this will be my last chopper i fix until this issue is put right. Like the first time it happened, i thought it may have been stolen somehow, although each time ive had a chopper ive landed it and created my camp in a very secret place, different place each time, right on the map borders. In 2 cases ive been flying the chopper off the island and over Cherno and Elektro and the Admin that has been present, while im in Mid-Air has put a console message on the server saying "Server restart in 15 seconds". This came with no warning at all and i think was done out of spite because i had his precious Huey. Ive had numerous vehicles over the time ive played DayZ, ive been playing for a very long time now, and i dont see why Choppers have this issue? Vehicles save fine, with all gear inside then and they never go missing, infact ive only ever had one vehicle go missing and that is a long story. All im asking is that this issue gets fixed, as it is very unfair on people like me and thousands of others who send hours on hours collecting the parts and the fuel that is needed to fix and fly the Huey to have all those timeless sessions playing this mod to have it cruely taken away from then for no good reason. I just thought i would share my experiences with this issue too...Well, im off to fix a chopper to have it taken away from me in about 6/7 hours time -Tom

Well, I want to know what vehicles hold the most of the following things.. People, items (like food) and weapons. Wiki apparently isn't reliable.

yeah sure, the heli position doesn't get saved, that's why we found it saved at the spot you parked it and shot the engine out. also all other vehicles get saved just fine "threat"? are you fucking stupid? is it a threat if I say "don't smash my car or I will call the police"? asking for blacklist for "every one of my sad moments"? show me one instance where I asked for a blacklist. Maybe your english is too bad to understand even what you wrote yourself but I didn't even ask for a blacklist once yet. and yes, discovering that the admins, who are also players, not only check the logs for scripters and hackers but also for player gear, position, tent position, vehicle position is proper cause for concern

UAZ isn't even close to being one of the fastest vehicles in the game.. you see vehicles going through walls because of desync.. in future i'd suggest to just mute annoying dicks in sc... press "m" select players, select whoever is being a twat in the list and you will have the option to mute them on the right hand side of the screen..

Or can I rollback my server to a pre glitches version, or will we be stuck in constant "waiting for host"? If yes, Can I use 1.7.2.3 on Hive 0.7.3 (or Hive 0.7.2, which seemed able to save vehicles)

When the server I play on used to restart everything reset positions and stuff but now that the admin changed the script so that it shuts down and comes back up the positions of vehicles stay but they swap sometimes

it is a bug with the hive atm i think, its been doing the same thing to me and my friends for over a week, nothing we can do about it accept for stopping the scheduled restarts and make iit a manual restart, just so the items in ur tent stay there as well as the vehicles... hope this helps you guys out.

DayZ is basically the only game I play at the moment, but I'm starting to get sick of it. It's boring that the AS50 is so common, combat logging, ghosting, hackers and that almost every single fucking vehicle is stashed off the map and never see any use. At this point it's more or less just a slow-paced deathmatch for me, as some other players have put it. I started fresh on a private hive yesterday. It's been a positive experience so far. Vehicles are actually used in the gameplay, because any off map vehicles are deleted, rare weapons actually seem to be rare and it's fun actually having to gear up again (on the public hive we have the best stuff in the game in duping tents, so it's pointless to gear up there). Have you tried to set video memory to default? That solves the graphic glitches for me and some of my friends at least.

Never had a problem with tents not saving. I have had problems with tents and vehicles being destroyed overnight, pretty much every night Ive had them until I decided not to bother with them anymore.

Hello, So we have a problem with our server since more than a week : at every restarts (scheduled or not), it comes back to a later 'checkpoint' that was made a week ago, so whatever we do new, it will be lost again and again (even if we save new things on vehicles) because the server will rollback a week.. We think this is a bug due to a disconnection from the pilote on a chopper, because it always rollbacks at this moment (without the chopper respawning) We want to reset completely the mission to erase all, and to start again without bugs, is it possible, and how ? Thank you

Yeah I know. Basically I was already at the van when I spotted it, manuevering around the trees with that long bus, much to drunk to drive really. Found the van and didn't think much about it, started taking screenshots to remember the great day that I got two vehicles lol. Then panic and death followed shortly. B) It sucks but it was still a nice experience encountering Dance in the forest, driving a bus for a while and getting punished for not being careful enough. Thats the game.

Fix the tents+vehicles & I wont care if you don't fix anything else till the standalone.. Losing all your items day in day out is ridiculous and makes the game worthless to play.

Yes im sorry mate, but the DB got a major update to fix humanity and vehicles spawns and for some wierd reason the backup didnt work :( it usually does but not this time unfortunatly and as this is dayz, theres not really a reason to be totally exited about gear or vehicles, they will be gone soon anyway hehe. I hope you can live with that :) and for the vehicle, even tho it got lost in the DB update, it could easily have been stolen hehe, we loose vehicles all the time. And as a patch on the wound we could pick you up and hep you get started again mate. Abit more fun maybe :) i hope you come back

But isn't the fight for vehicles in their proper spot an ongoing battle between groups? And wouldn't that then be slightly more fair for the 1,000,000 other people that could potentially frequent your server?

Not just admin vehicles, we have mutiple groups on our server and none of us like losing them every goddamn time we restart. Pretty sure the randoms who I dont speak to hate it too. How about blaming the hackers, the bugs and the general morons and dicks who play this game before blaming the admins? The people who pay THEIR money so YOU can play for free. Sure, some abuse their powers, but thats the same in every game, for the most part I think the admins do their best within a rather limited and completely stupid set of rules.

That's why servers need the ability to be more custom. Let the server hosts pick the percentages of spawning, and even locations. (Like the editor.) Maybe even keep the spawn percentages, but allow them to change the percentage of the already set percentage, thus not changing it to much, and not allowing hosts to put a set max limit of certain items. This could allow some server to set how far along the outbreak has been going. Like how many vehicles are around, ammo, food, guns, ect. I know that I trust Rocket to know what's best, so servers can stick to the regular version of DayZ if players really want that, but give us a little more variety of gameplay as it really couldn't hurt...

So i'm looking to join a group with a few player like me. I'm 17 years old and i've been playing Dayz for around a 1month and a half. I'm good at any class, sniper, spotter or assault. I don't want a group with little kids 15 or 14 who get so exciting over a rabbit, and people who scream down the mic and never shut up. Its annoying and stop good for communication. I have built bases before, and vehicles and i just want a group to raid towns kill some bandits etc... I'm not your average player on Dayz, like yesterday. Two buses drove past me ( i was a motorbike ) so i trail them. They stop to see if they can see me. So i get my FAL out. Shot both of the buses wheels. And I ended killing 3bandits and 2 murders. All on my own. :) I have raid call and TS3 but i could download others if needed. Msg me on the forums please. Thanks and good hunting !

Self centered much? I have many regulars on my server, who own there own camps and vehicles. So no, its not only for my own motorcycle. I wish to keep the regulars in my server, because it's fun to have ongoing battles between groups.

The two sides I'm seeing is: Admin wants to keep his/her vehicles VS. the server running up at optimal. Did you read the part about admins ruining the game?
