I was able to save to tent (duping still happeneing), but still had vehicles dissapear or change to some other type after reboot. -
Ok, so I can say I am even more frustrated with this game. Aside from the army of hackers who teleport to players, spawn vehicles, and all that crap. When I saw the whole "hero" thing I thought it was pretty cool, ESPECIALLY the badass outfit. But I wondered.. "What will I get for being a bandit?? Surely we get something if heros get a speed increase and a whole new badass outfit." But I was wrong.. everything is normal survivor EXCEPT my little towlhead. -.-' Don't get me wrong.. I like the head thingy, it looks cool. But the problem is NONE OF MY CLOTHES MATCH IT! I look like a fucking jackass. So if they have the time to give heros all this great shit, then is this suppose to be a joke towards bandits? I mean seriously.. WHAT THE FUCK!? I'm hoping this is just to even out the numbers.. more heros and survivors giving people a reason to try being helpful to other players. But this whole thing I can't get over. This is fucking bullshit.

worked for us. vehicles save again, tents are still a bit hit or miss -
There was also a boat at it. Some vehicles need a tire, gas etc.. But there was a looot of them. Have fun. Took this earlier, may not be the same at this time. Coords are 006 - 001 top left of the map

I know right, they even leave us fully fixed vehicles ready to go... this game brings out the good in people

All the new tents I've been setting up won't save items or disappear. Every tent I set up prior to the last patch is locked with the inventories they had stored in them before. I can empty them, put new stuff in, save and they just revert back to the previous state after the server restarted. They were really glitchy before but at least somewhat usable. Now they're just broke. The vehicles are a mess too. I gave up trying to use them to store anything a while ago.

If you want the weapons, start a LAN game, use the mission editor, add in weapons crates and ammo. You can also add zombies and vehicles with ease. Completely and totally legitimate and helps acclimatise you to certain weapons' idiosyncrasies. Look for tutorials to help you with the mission editor as it's not as intuitive as one might think. I might update this later to add where certain things are located in the interface. -

I play solo and as such have no need for tents. I find weapons I will use and carry those, there's no need for me to stash additional weapons and then worry about them getting stolen. Plus with the many bugs regarding vehicles and tents, along with the duping problems, it's really just better to not use them unless needed anyway. Besides, if I had everything I could ever need for several lifetimes stored in my tents, the game would get quite boring. -
*** MAJOR THREAD REVISION - SEE BELOW *** As I listened to SideStrafe's interview with Rocket ( ) I found myself thinking about ways in which the game could encourage behavior which more closely mirrored the real world.If I were alone on an island the amount of energy required to gather a meal which sustained my existence would be considerably greater than if I were to live in a large city. On the island, and alone, I only benefit from the energy I produce. Whereas in the large city folks all around me are working day and night to achieve success in one form or another. Because of my proximity to their efforts I am able to spend less time focusing on where my next meal is coming from and more time focusing my efforts on other goals. Goals Provide a series of rewards which, if unlocked, improve players ability to survive. Provide, voluntary, mechanism for promoting cooperation beyond mere survival. Reward Examples - Bandage wounds more efficiently - Improve weapon skill (based on specialization) - Improve ability to convert ammo from one weapon type to another - Harvest more meat per animal kill - Improve endurance (more efficiently use food and water) - Improve map reading (adds additional meta data to maps - Mechanics skills (keep vehicles alive longer) - Operate complex vehicles (aircraft) - Generate power - Reinforce structures - etc.. Unlocking Rewards All loot collectable via the world of DayZ has an associated value. Players have the option to either convert an item, directly, into base-skill or use such in the form of support to another player. Both actions produce the same result. The value of the item is added to the players base-skill. Via the skill menu players will have the option of unlocking skills when minimum thresholds, based on a players base-skill value, are met. Earning Base-skill 1) Bob the bandit loots an AK off an unsuspecting bambi. Bob, with an assault rifle already in his pack, accesses his experience menu in order to convert the AK into additional base-skill. 2) Sam the survivor has a friend, Frank, whose just been mauled by a horde of agro'd Zeds. Sam quickly dispatches the Zeds with his silenced pistol, apply's a bandage, epiepen, morphine and a blood bag. The value of the items applied are immediately added to Sam's base-skill. Now Frank is also out of ammo. Sam has extra AK ammo in his pack. Accessing the skill menu Sam places 3 mags in Franks pack. Note: assets, once transfered via the skill menu, no longer provide an increase to base-skill if transferred a second time. 3) Once learned, a skill can be taught to others. Sam having taken the time to unlock the 'Improve weapon skill' accesses Frank's skill menu in order to teach Frank how to better use his AK to ensure the Zeds don't continue to own his bambi tail.

Yes our clan does have a camp set up, any extra supplies gained on our travels get put there incase of emergencies etc. same applies if any vehicles are found... just nice to know there is backup if we ever need it. -
Hey, I wonder if there is any fix for my problem. Vehicles keep respawning after I restart my server. This is getting really annoying as players can't save their vehicles at their camps or w/e. We are just getting tired of this shit and thus far we haven't found any fix. I hope people do know how to solve this problem thanks in advance.

Greetings, I'm the other admin of the server, even if normally I'm quiet and let fdrk to deal with people. He can be can ass, but I assure u he will not if you don't provoke him. You edited ur post marvon and tried to look smart but it wasn't a clever move. I will asnwer your post and you will notice how few u know about the game and its bugs. We repaired this chopper somedays ago (can't remember the exactly day and i don't want to give false information) when the server was running Dayz version 1.7.2.4 then next days the last beta arma released and we were forced to update the server to the 1.7.2.5 What happens is the version 1.7.2.5 of Dayz DOESN'T SAVE VEHICLES AND TENTS properly and after each restart all vehicles and tents are rolled back at were saved before install that lastest game version. So the chopper u found some days ago was the one we left there and then installed the new version. What it means is everytime the server restart the chopper will appear there. No matter if u save it or crash it or eat it. And for ur information Mavor, You can find plenty posts on the forum about what admins can and can't do...and rollbacks is something we CAN'T do. I suggest u to start read forum now that you registered ;) So when u killed fdrk we were picking the chopper, and I was configuring my controls which were reset (no idea why). And when u killed it, i just flight away with the chopper. About the kick. I can assure you we dont' kick for no reason, would be stupid to kick your pilot when we can recover the chopper at next restart ^_^ There is a simple reason why we dont' kick people and we don't admin abuse ( even if we can't abuse much been admin). We are two single people renting a server. It costs us a lot money every month and the only reason why we do it is because we want a nice server with a lot people in it and out of admin problems. We want people who plays on it have fun and come back to play again with/against us, and we know for that happens you must provide a good "service". You can keep playing on the server if u wish and with time your admin paranoids will dissapear :) Regards, Nesie

I wonder once they see people there how many more will get banned. The lack of response from their side is shockingly quiet. Granted they have better things to do ie. Work or school. Looking forward to seeing their proof and defense as to why they feel the need to ban people looting their camps. And as of 3pm Est my ban has not been lifted by any of the admins of this server. Tempted to know if all of the vehicles were still there ? WooT or anyone care to confirm ? Also curious if a motorcycle is by the Ural or in camp since that is what harette and I took to get there. -
I think just because the Ural is made in russia doesn't mean that ATV don't exist there. I think given how rare vehicles seem to be, and how horded they usually are, an addition of a new small vehicle would be great, along with having seperate items to repair the ATV, motorcycle, bicycle, and other small vehicles. Instead of just using the same parts for all vehicles. I don't think the developers shouldn't go so far as to say "Dayz is restricted to russia, and therefore all cars must come from there in order to be realistic." Instead I'm just saying the ural is a iconic piece of Russian motor history that is the only vehicle from Russia that is currently sold world wide. That coupled with the fact that I think crusing around in a motorcycle sidecar with a mounted .50 cal mowing down zombie while listening to Scissor sisters (see youtube link below) is exactly how i'd spend my time in a zombie apocalypse should the day ever come. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFKUnfwBPTU and no this isn't a history class, but since when has learning something interesting been restricted to academic institutions only ?

We are currently considering the same approach, but have two quick questions: 1) Will this bring with it any unwanted side-effects? F.ex missing inventory, vehicles, tents? Or should everything currently on the server be fine? 2) Will Rocket magically show up at our admin's house and beat him up over it? -

Obviously they are using something that allows them to see at least where everyone is and where all tents/vehicles are at... but proving it is another thing. What we can prove is admin abuse, and get the server blacklisted. -
I see 2 possible cases: 1) Rocket does not have any IT skill at all, he is developing a mod not an entire game engine, after 5 months and over a million of players you can't have a crappy buggy mod like dayz and always apologize saying we are running an ALPHA... take as good example A.C.E mod, it was just awesome.. (it is actually...) This lead me thinking that even the standalone will be affected of those bugs since it will be released in Alpha stage. BTW we have a dev that has already fixed tents and vehicles bug (have look at private hive servers..). UNBELIEVABLE 2) Stand alone means money, Arma 2 Dayz mods was just an experiment to see how to make money..

All servers admins should just roll back to 2.4. Tents worked after the initial wipe at restart...no problem. Artifacts can be cured by changing video settings and if that doesn't work just log out back to the lobby and log back in WHEN IN THE ARTIFACT ZONE.....problem solved. Although I miss my bandit skin..but the game works properly which is more important. It would also help if servers would restart on a 6 to 8 hour rotation. This will cure the disappearing act of vehicles and tents after the first couple restarts... I see another poster posted a link for server side hot fix of tents and vehicles......Admins.........USE IT. :) Now there should be no more bitching to the devs.

"Hacking" is done by scripts. And scripts in ARMA 2 are basically the core essential on how to make your own mods/missions. So playing on your own little offline/non-BattleEye server and using scripts there isn't really a problem to anyone. Don't judge right away. As for OP, I already pretty much told you how to "cheat." You need to use scripts that are coded to spawn certain things. Be it NPCs, vehicles, props or weapons. (Edit; Don't try any scripts in any online servers. You'll most likely get kicked and/or banned for doing so.) As for if you can play DayZ offline.. I don't think you can. Maybe by altering the mod files, but that'd that a bit more skill and know-how. -
PS, this is not an attempt to grief or anything. Someone took all our servers vehicles tonight and hid them. if in a helo feel free to circle to check my hands, not even sure where I'm spawned atmbut will update soon.

Regarding item slots in vehicles, the motorbike, which we have is filled with 5 wheels as it has 5 item slots, yet takes up 30 item slots in a backpack? is this a glitch, or legit? thanks.

In the pursuit of a nice vehicle I decided to take the always lovely tractor out to find these vehicles since the tractor runs as is. Well, I find a motorcycle but as I'm trying to turn I bump a fence and well... boom. Moral of the story, don't drive anything with a red engine.

Would you let your tents get wiped?

Especially after the issues with tents and vehicles in 1.7.2.5, I'm all for a complete tent wipe. With how easy item duping is, the only way to return any normalcy to the game is to wipe everything. Seems like there's always 20 guys running around with L85 AWS, AS50s and M9 SDs (with all of the tools) running around on every server.
