    to the admin of us 3352

    Most servers need two restarts to get the tents and vehicles back, its very rare but not impossible for a hacker to de-spawn camps
  2. i know this game is still work in progress and that there are bugs and hackers but..........if a server restarts and after that a camp with 10 tents and 3 vehicles are just gone i think something went wrong then.the reset took place on the night from friday on saturday (gmt+1).i hope you can fix that.

    No UH1H on my own Server?

    We have a similar issue on our server, hacker turned up, teleported the tents and all vehicles out into the sea and insta-killed us all. The server provider said we would get the vehicles back 'shortly' but that was over a week ago. Anyway, a hacker came on last night and teleported all the missing vehicles back onto the map and then was killed after being observed teleporting over the map [we have about 10 active admins in server pretty much all the time] so when he accused one of combat logging and demanded we ban him, he was removed and the hacked guns buried. I checked the server logs this morning and it states that 2 UH1H have been spawned but where we simply do not know as the server provider will not allow the chap who's paying for the server check the files to ensure its not spawned back out in the sea. We run a sanctuary server so expected more ability to run it as admins.

    Lost all my gear for a bug.

    Ghillie suit bug. It's happened to me and many, many other players before. When you log off, don't be prone or crouched, don't be clipping any tree branches, walls, tents, vehicles etc (ie be standing up and clear of your surrounding objects and fauna), this will lessen the chances of it happening.
  5. its true that hackers ruined what dayz was. it used to be a kick to be in the midst of nowhere up north, bumping into others like that and generally feeling your character was "alive" even when logged out. hackers - and by that i mean insta killers/teleporters in this case - devolved dayz into the kind of game they came from if you think about it. Now everyones at cherno/elektro and there seems little reason to struggle with the emotional toil of this game in that way. if you have a long hard think over it, the folks who just join server after server killing all people, then going through all the black screens and waiting just to do it again, you really have to wonder right? maybe it's just 2 or 3 people doing that. maybe it's one. one complete shithead who hates how he is nothing and tries to impact the universe this way since its all he can do. it would be possible for one person to spend every waking moment of their pathetic life going down the most popular servers doing this over and over. So in that case, its possible only 5 or so people are doing it. are these abnormal people? shunned somehow? are they offended by the masochism and realism of the game on a personal level? either this theory or the theory that a powerful entertainment company is using hard tactics to pursuade gamers to get back on the maintrack. i noticed that since the tents and vehicles were "fixed", now it is common to come across all vehicles and tents drawn to one location (magnet) and then the tents run over. i'm sure that guy or guys is doing it on every server. the beauty of it is that there are still so many players. we keep coming back. we will buy standalone and by the grace of snackbar its gonna be secure
  6. Alright, let me start with my first idea, replace the M136 with the RPG-7, i have some key reasons for this. Explosives: The RPG would be used a lot in Chernarus because it was recently in a conflict with the Americans due insurgents. (RPG-7's would be a common weapon to take down American helicopters and vehicles). Why would the Americans bring an M136 to Chernarus after the conflict to fight against the infected, it simply makes no sense what are they going to kill with it? Infected driving vehicles or some shit? Tell me what you all think, i was also thinking about suggesting to add an Strela 2 as it would also be a weapon used against the Americans. (It would also make it fair to deal with choppers) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strela_2) Rifles: I think it would be better to make American and British weapons VERY rare as they wouldn't be used as much comparing to russian weapons such as the AKM, AK-47, AK-74 and the Ak-107. Adding in more Russian weapons could be nice as well, some ideas are AN-94, Ak-101, Ak-103 and the Ak12. Weapons Spawns: I think making American weapons spawn at only millitary bases such as the one at Stary Sobor would be more realistic than the airfields as they would have been Russian ocupied whilst the camps would be American. Now, time for a rant regarding snipers. Snipers: Make the CZ550 more common as it's a common hunting weapon, M24 only spawn at american bases along with the AS50 and M107 (Make them SUPER rare). Make the SVD spawn more than it does (maybe even make some spawn without the camo?) as it is the only Russian sniper in the mod and you're in a Russian country. I think it couldn't hurt to add in some more Russian snipers as well such as the SV-98, SVU and the VSS. I will update and change my ideas often with this topic. Now, what do you all think of this?

    Serious questions for Rocket & Battleye

    This is why I play on a private hive, the one I am playing on has duping fixed (including food duping) hacking pretty much eliminated, combat logging removed with the implementation of a log out timer, debug/hud icons working together and humanity not restarting, new vehicles, two hueys among other fixes/changes and as a result is constantly full, it was advertised on Reddit which you would think would make it a larger target for cheaters too but so far I haven't had any problems. http://www.reddit.co...t_to_be_played/ There are many other similar privates hives popping up too. Maybe it's best that the mods future/updates etc become community driven so Rocket can spend all his time focussing on standalone, you can argue this is already happening.
  8. Same here AU 25 Instance ID:10517. ​Vehicles Spawned ok for the first week. Once they were destroyed they have not returned. 14 DayZ & no vehicles respawning. ​Tents sometimes keep there loot & the fuel glitch is really annoying. especially if your out the middle of nowhere.

    DayZ is out of control.....

    That is where you are wrong, i encounter multiple hackers everyday on my own server and they fuck everything up. Mass teleport the vehicles and tents and insta kill everybody, on a DAILY base. Just wanted to point that out, don't care about the rest.
  10. Server now private : Password = "Welcome123". Some people may know of this server, been running since early Alpha (Chern, Lingor, Takistan). We (JAG) installed Takistan 1.2 MOD a few days ago and allot of people seem to like it (full server when it`s public, but with all the cheating..). Veteran mode : - Map = ON - Waypoints = ON - Crosshair = ON - 3rd Person = ON - Max vehicles enabled = 80. Server now private : Password = "Welcome123".

    Server is currently down, small problem with installing the latest vilayer update... ticket already sent in.... Hopefully it will be resolved before i go off to work More hackers banned etc... Also there will be a small rule addition, if u go around with a hacker & i am pretty sure u are aware of this + are gettin hacker to spawn vehicles / guns for u. U will run the risk of getting banned along with them. And apparently vilayer have added a vilayer anti-cheat script thing to newest update, kinda curious to see what they have done

  13. I agree that would be preferable, but I'm not sure if that would take up too much server resources. How would you track how far a vehicle has moved? Building a database of their current locations, comparing it to a database of their last location, and reverting any vehicles that went over x meters between builds? You'd have to rebuild the databases frequently enough that a vehicle never drove outside of your limit (how many meters traveled to have been "teleported"). I wasn't sure if that would take too much server resources. Not sure if we're running on an i7, or a Pentium 4, lol. Its also harder to write.
  14. true, we would have to find a way for the script to know they have been "Teleported" maybe make it save more oftent and then detect anomalies to the normal pattern or something. it has to be something where the 5 vehicles the script detects, must have moved more then they normally do.

    Missing the chopper!

    As far as i know you can see in the Server logs("arma2oaserver.RPT") on server start which vehicles were submitted and spawned from the hive. And as I said, I see every vehicle there except the chopper. So even if someone would have already stolen it, I would see it in the logs spawning.
  16. Hmm, there are likely to be situations, where friends are parking up to or more than 5 vehicles at a camp site, so we need a script that detects if a vehicle is teleporting and then sets it back to its last saved location, if this is possible.
  17. This is ripper, some of you have met me in game, I drove a bus about the NE airfield for a while. :) I was talking about scripts to detect hacks, and I know someone posted earlier about it. If we can extract vehicle location data with a server side script, then we could have it save their locations every five mins. Then, if 5 vehicles ever showed up in the same 100 meters, it would revert all vehicles to their positions saved 5 mins ago. Keeps hackers from teleporting all cars together, which seems to be the most popular script right now.

  19. Server: [bRA#1] On2Play 2986 Time: 1:55 - 1:58 AM EST What Happened: Well, I loaded in by the shore and what do I see? About every vehicle in the game in one location, boats, heli's, ATV's, Bus's all of em. There was a guy sitting on the other side of a car and I went over to ask him how he was, and how long it took to get all the vehicles there, he responded " I found it all" and proceeded to shoot and kill me with a Sniper Rifle with what looked like a desert camo scope on it, don't remember that being in DayZ. Didn't get his name, but maybe check server logs for who killed "404 Sharlandra" around the time of incident and see if that same person was scripting for cars.
  20. welp since this has been necro'd being able to drive/pilot everything right off the bat. being able to kill yourself with a door being able to walk off a helicopter crash but break your bones from a 1 meter jump (ok I'll be fair, it's 1.5 meters) getting killed by going near rocks getting killed by trees getting killed by tents vehicles flipping because of train tracks even tho you take it as humanly fucking slow as possible being able to enter only a handful of buildings finding weapons and ammo for it conveniently placed across the map on the floors of buildings. not being able to fix the broken down cars on the streets of cernarus. hackers *brace yourselves for the QQers* being able to dupe yourself by accident because of relog in attempt to fix graphic glitch graphic glitches STAIRS! being able to carry 2 AS50s in your backpack, but not 2 primary weps on your back not being able to have 2 pistols equipped (srsly, the holster is on the right leg, mite as well put one on the left leg) I could go on and on and on all night long
  21. Tried multiple times to jump off the hotel (choppah rides!) onto a bed of barbed wire, destroyed vehicles (usable and scenic) and zombies, always died. Ugh, without breaking legs? The platform of the back of the market? XD I think I once even managed to jump from the middle of the bottom stairs of the 2 story barn without breaking my legs.

    Stuck on last loading screen

    Just barely started having this same issue. Been playing for a couple weeks now, no problem, then bam, all of a sudden im stuck at the damn loading screen. First my server gets all screwed up and wont' spawn vehicles and now this....can't even play on a different server now D:
  23. setpos is a variable that hackers use to teleport stuff, it would not go off for you just driving a vehicle. 9 out of 10 times they are either teleporting themselves, players, or vehicles.
  24. That was what I was thinking too. But you have to count on vehicles too then as they move faster than a walking person obviously.
  25. xpost from my reddit reply: This server is amazing, I have been playing here exclusively for the past month or two. The servers have alot of activity and there is normally quite a bit of activity in teamspeak for people grouping up. Hacking rarely happens, the load times are blazing fast compared to any other server i have been on, and the server is heavily moderated. Ive kept kits for DAYS on this server even playing on nights with 40+ people online. 60 vehicles means noone really hordes vehicles, and everyone has a chance to get in a car and be mobile on the map.. So much so that you can camp busy highways/fueling stations and hijack cars quite often (its great!) 3 hueys, no one clan has control over the map, and if you really want a chopper you can get one with a bit of hard work! I play under the name danson/hodor, hop in teamspeak and we can go racketeering together! Bottom line is you need to try this server, it has made DayZ playable for me and my friends, and not just some mindless shootout in cherno/elektro because you feel you are going to lose all your shit anyways.
