  1. I am actually looking for a list of hosters for Private Hive. Things I am looking for: - Access to ALL files(Incuding mysql ones so I can edit in vehicles, etc.) - Can be a vps, dedicated, game server, etc. - 40-60 slots - Decent price ($100 or under) - Any map (May add more, but that seems like a good list to start off) Just trying to get a good group of hosters together to go through and check out. Fill free to throw in your refs so you make money off it if I choose your hoster. Thanks, PolarBearJ

    We Want More Vehicles?

    I personally have found one vehicle that wasn't an ATV or already being driven, and I didn't have the supplies to repair it. I'd like if there were more spawns, but not a 100% chance of spawning on any given location. That way it's a bit harder to hoard them all, and possibly increasing the total amount of vehicles actually going around.
  4. There is nothing wrong with adding new stuff. Content drives the game, I was bored as hell of DayZ and then Lingor Island popped up. Now Utes, dont care so much myself for it, and Takistan REALLY want to get into that one. As for supporting what they already have, they just released a major updated that includes 1.7.2.6 and MANY more huge bug fixes to the Private Hive Package Servers.   5. Unfortunately this form of cheating is still undetected and now that vehicles save locations all servers are susceptible to this form of griefing. This form of griefing has become much more effective now that vehicle locations save to the hive, it is almost effortless for them to do this, and it has major impact on the balance of the server. You did the right thing, seek out the vehicles and destroy. That effectively is resetting the vehicles as it distributes most of them back across your server. The helo is a different animal and can take up to 7 days to re-spawn, As far as destroying them goes explosives are good but kamikaze runs are best.
  6. While the hero skin is all fine and dandy, I don't really feel like I've accomplished anything by blood bagging a few people in Cherno and Elektro. In my opinion, this is the true way to be the type of player that brings joy to this game. STEP 1: THE HUMBLE BEGINNINGS a. Find a bicycle, boat, or hoof it. If bicycle, go to step 2A. If boat, go to step 2B. If on foot, either will work. STEP 2A: THE PATH OF GLORY a. Plot a course you will take. You will be looking for bandit camps. b. Keep in mind that a single tent can mean more spread out in the area. Search that general area for more tents and vehicles. STEP 2B: HONOR TO THE SKIES (Note this method is less likely to work effectively) a. With your boat or horrible swimming skills, travel out to Skalisty Island. b. If nothing is there on your current server, hop until you find one that has a bandit camp or helicopter (NOTE: A helicopter that is in need of repair most likely signals the server is NEW. Go ahead and take the chopper, but this process requires a server that has camps, which a new one most likely will not.) c. After taking the helicopter, initiate a search for bandit camps from the air. d. If no helicopter is found, either resort to step 2A or if you found a camp, go on to step 3. STEP 3: THE HERO'S TEST a. After finding a camp, search all of the tents. You may take anything you want except snipers for personal use. b. Load up a vehicle (if applicable) with things you want. MAKE SURE IT IS NOT A URAL. If the camp has a ural, go to c. If not, go to d. c. Remember the sniper rifles you couldn't get? Load them all except one into the ural. Shoot the ural's engine block until it explodes. Hide your current sniper rifle under a bush or tree so it despawns upon server restart. d. If no ural, hide the sniper rifles all under trees or do the same process with other smaller vehicle(s). While the vehicles are not the targets of this process, you may use them as sniper exterminators or if you find the ammo, to put them back up at their spawns for survivors to fix up after a restart. STEP 4: THE SAVIOR IS BORN a. (optional) Go to Elektro or Cherno with your newly acquired gear. Check the area for snipers. If there are any, stealthily approach and kill them. Hide the bodies. b. Travel along the coast and hand out your gear to fresh spawns. If you want, you may tell them the location of the camp. c. Repeat the process, or bask in the glory of being a true hero. This process is by no means comprehensive. You may go to any lengths to help new survivors, as long as it does not involve any grief from any said survivors. Motivation to do this? First of all, you're a hero. Second, you probably just got rid of a lot of duped items. Third, you most likely saved the lives of about 100 fresh spawns from being killed by those sniper rifles. Have fun!

On a related note have you ever been on the interweb before? Google is your friend, you have enough knowledge to fire up your computer to play games and post on a forum, how can you not look past the first item on a Google search for Dayz. Alright that is the end of dickish post.

  10. anyone else think that the game would be more fun if there was even an off chance that some of the so called "vehicles spawns" actually contained vehicles? then again they would probably bug out as soon as you drove then or be totaled by a blade of grass
  11. A hacker entered my server today and teleported all the vehicles to one spot on the map. Later, with no hacker, my friends and I destroyed ALL vehicles to make them respawn after the server restart. So I restarted the server... and all vehicles apparently spawned correctly (they always spawn on the same place on my server, I don't know why lol)... but the heli isn't there. NO HELICOPTER ON MY SERVER. Can I reset all vehicles or something? How can I make it spawn again? And what do you do with your server when your vehicles get teleported? Do you also destroy them with guns or is there any quicker solution?

    Who cares if duping is fixed? Even after a hive wipe. Spreading weapons via hackers spawning stuff and spreading weapons via tent duping is both bad. And I can bet that if the duping is fixed, then because of the sheer amount of hackers, they are just going to spread weapons like wildfire. You can bet that within a week, the majority of servers will have illegitimate weapons, vehicles and items... And I already stated why a hive wipe every week is terrible.

    Hacking/Scripting

    If any of you guys want revenge FMF clan has declared open war on them and we are constantly killing their members on 850 ( and anywhere else we can find them), If you want to join in the fun feel free to stop by our forums or ts. Beyond their scripted in weapons and BS they are really really bad players. We probably have about 30 kills on them now with maybe 5 deaths on our side. I can corroborate the BS that they pull as well, they script in weapons and vehicles. Standard kit for them is the as50 TWS soldier clothing and the M4a1 m203 holo silenced ( we have stolen a large number of these weapons from them and now use them to kick their asses) We have a number of instances where they have tracked our spawn locations when we were wearing our clan tags and showed up minutes later with groups of 3-4 to scour the area for us. We also have an ex member of theirs who has been script killed by them and witnessed them using god mode and teleporting ( along with our clan itself seeing other instances of this) The easiest way to fight them is to drop in on 850 with a random name and start killing, we can give you locations of previous camps along with info on where they generally operate. Hell, their clan leader even reported our servers for kicking them for no reason when it was actually a battle eye issue and he will probably hop on here and do his whole "Fraps or it didn't happen" crap. It's funny how that works especially when you can search for CNSF on the forums and see the complaints made against them.
  14. Truly random loot. The dayz database map should not show you what type of loot you can get and it's location. If you see military vehicles you could assum you would fine military loot but it shouldn't tell you on the map. Also as you travel the map should be more detailed in those areas because you have been there and you know.

  16. -First Official Lingor Island Weekend Details- -Tonight at 7pm PDT, 9pm CDT, 10pm EDT- We will be installing Lingor Island this evening and it will remain on the server until sometime Sunday night, depending on feedback from our players of course. All of your progress in Chenarus will remain intact and you will be able to continue playing when we switch back to the map. Your Chenarus and Lingor Island characters will be separate, so everyone in Lingor will be starting fresh and when we return to Chenarus your character will be just as you left them. so there is no need to worry about any of that. To join us in Lingor you can easily install the Lingor Island files and join the server using DayZ Commander, it will have no effect on your current DayZ installation, it installs to a separate file. If you don't want to join us in Lingor you can find other Vilayer Hive Chenarus servers by filtering for "DayZChenarus" this should find servers on the Vilayer hive running Chenarus. You can also return to your original character on the original DayZ hive. Anyone new to Lingor Island should know it is a smaller map and as a result there will likely be much more PvP happening, finding a group of friendlies will be very beneficial. There are still a plethora of Vehicles to be found and repaired, including at least one Helicopter. You can enter 99.9% of the buildings on the map and it is pretty easy to find loot. It is also a tropical island type of setting, just think of it as a vacation. If you have any questions, Message Desync or Psychobob on Teamspeak or Steam. The details for both are located in the 1st post of this thread.

    Yeah, is it possible for tents to auto save after every interaction? Remove the manual save function. Same goes for vehicles.
  18. Everyone that has had issues with tents/vehicles disappearing. Go back into TC Admin and install the newest update. Then uninstall the mod and reinstall. They have now fixed all the issues with the newest release. Everything should be working as normal.

    I'm not getting the logic behind people's reasons for not wanting a heatmap. (If you're not interested in the heatmap at all, feel free to ignore this post.) -"It'd give people unfair advantages! They will see where people go and kill them!" No, it won't. For the heatmap to be effectively used to kill someone, it would have to show: 1. If they are still there. You can't kill someone who died there, or who isn't logged in. 2. It would have to tell you when they went there. How do you tell the difference in a heat signature if 20 players passed through an area a month ago, and if 10 passed through a month ago and 10 are going there now? or 20 different players all at different times, which is what's going to happen? There isn't. 3. It would have to show you what server. Okay, by some miracle you might go to a quiet area that someone might be in. Are you really going to log into every server finding someone when you could just go to a place where you already know people are? No, that would be stupid and impractical. 4. There would still need to be a moderate amount of activity there anyway. For it to even register on a heatmap of give-or-take a million players, People will need to at least moderately pass through that area anyway, which hardly increases the amount of people picking that area to PvP because of the minimap. 5. It'd have to show what goes through there. The heatmap is only showing player locations. So nobody is going to single out an area because people happen to hide their vehicles there. Given even only these five points, You can conclude that the odds of finding someone through a heatmap are smaller than the odds of hitting someone across the NW airfield. With a Makarov. And a broken leg. -"But people will go to the quiet spots, and I'm camping in one!" Once again, How many servers are there? What are the odds that someone is going to pick the exact same spot as you out of the hundreds of potential spots, and also be in the same server? Also take away the number of people who aren't immediately hostile because believe it or not they do exist, and you can easily assume that your hiding spot is not going to be any more obvious than it was before. -"But it would ruin the fun of the game/the immersion/atmosphere for me!" Then don't look at the heatmap. If you don't want to know where people go out of interest, then don't know. But who are you to decide if everyone else wants to know? Most people wouldn't even factor in the knowledge provided by the heatmap when playing. I'm not going to remember that roughly 3% of players have passed along that small dirt path between Pustoshka and Rogovo recently. People already know not to go to the Airfield, Cherno/Elektro if they plan on avoiding players, and a heatmap wouldn't emphasise that at all. -"But a hacker will use it to find people!" Hackers can teleport themselves to you, and you to them. Why would they need a heatmap? All in all, there are far more reasons FOR a Heatmap than against, purely because there are already much easier ways of finding people already, and you are not forced to look at it if you don't want to. As far as you're concerned, the heatmap doesn't even exist as it has zero impact on gameplay.
  20. Play quite a bit, least play a fuck load more then you. Vanilla warcrafts is the only engine i can think of thats worse, so 2003. Maybe you have a few console titles that are worse, but as far as PC gaming goes, this is garbage. Kinda got me thinking, you also got the lean mechanic and realistic vehicles. Even read somewhere you can top down a chopper in this. So its kinda bumped up from -googleplex/100 to like 3.4. Still bad, but now it can be worst engine since 2005.

  22. Yea you are butthurt but there is a solution that you even mentioned, private server. Stop complaining and make the move, it sounds like you want all the power (especially that ridiculous part about taking all the vehicles, pretty much makes you the dick) and in a private server you will have far more power to do what you please. If you want an extremely low population then even add a password, but if you want actual players you might want to consider leaving it open for the public (unless you are able to drum up demand in another manner). Beyond that you do have a point (I know I was being a dick, but you sound like a dick so I matched the tone), you pay for the server so you should have slightly more control (not the vehicles) over access. I really do not see the benefit to having a public server at this point unless you truly believe in the alpha testing process, but there will always be those that stay public to provide data to the developers so you should be able to enjoy your purchase. PS. stop calling regular players leaches just because we do not want to pay $50 to $100 monthly to rent a server (you probably do not own it and are using a third party to set it up).
