  1. There are 52 Vehicles on this server 2 are Heli's 7 are old bikes the rest cars only 7 vehicles have been claimed the rest are for grabs :)
  2. I don't believe so but I have only been playing there for a week now. It does have other vehicles than whats in the public servers. They roll back when a hacker attacks and they have bicycles reset on server restarts for convenience. In a mater of 3 days of play I have acquired 5 vehicles and found at least 10. Their server is down now for some reason though but don't let that discourage you from hopping on later.
  3. If I were you, I'd completely skip playing on the public hive servers. They are no fun whatsoever due to the hacks people use to track players and objetcs, teleport around the map, and spawn weapons/vehicles. You will end up spending most of your time trying to avoid hackers. As suggested above, sign up for one of the private hive servers. You'll enjoy the game much more from the start, and won't waste dozens of hours of your time and effort.

    Free Helicopter

I think we both missunderstood each other mate. There are 51 vehicles on our server. My clan has around 12 of them, with no plans to get more, only to give more away. We like playing with other people, and hoarding is boring as shit.

We have 12, there are 51 on the server. I don't know what's hard to understand about this. We're going to pick 5 of the vehicles (for my 10+ player group) and make a camp, we'll then leave the rest in cities for other players. If I was power hungry, would I make a thread about GIVING AWAY a helicopter.
  6. Byrg apparently Rmod is allowing u to put some new vehicles on the server along with new weapons, so i believe that would refresh things up a bit heres a video of the server running Rmod: well u probably know that but for ppl that dont know what Rmod is.

    To anyone thinking of hacking

tl:dr hackers ruin the game for themselves too. novel time, but hey it's friday and i'm bored at work with a hour to kill. I can't speak from first hand experience hacking myself but a good (online) friend of mine I speak to and play with on Skype actually had enough of the hacking after spending in his word ''days and literally hours per day on end gearing up to lose it all to a 14 yr old codfag'' and started scripting himself (nothing like teleporting servers, or using it to grief however). I'm guessing this is how it's got so bad - people can't get to grips with the nature of the game (perma death) and either get angry at hackers or suck at the game and decide to hack. Either way stinks imo. Anyway, long story short he can now spawn in any vehicle, weapon and item - regardless of if they're in day-z or not, just arma. He can teleport himself, see where others are and so on. Problem is, he doesn't even WANT to play anymore. Same issue I have when using mods/using console commands on single player games. I had more fun on Skyrim on the Xbox, than I do on PC, just because mods can break the feel of the game and having the ability to spawn in anything or change anything with one button press. It just breaks the immersion of game. So not only do hackers ruin the game for everyone (and believe me, I can't play for more than 2 hours without insta-dying or my friend saying ''some dude just teleported 30m from us'' or ''all the vehicles are in one spot'' or ''theres about 15 tents full of duped items'') but it also ruins the game for themselves. Thats the sad part imo. Day-Z could be a truly epic and groundbreaking experience if played as intended (nothing gets my adrenaline rushing like it) and the hackers ruin it for themselves. The buzz you get from stalking someone who has full gear (as50, nvgs etc) while you have low tier weapons is insane. It's so satisfying getting the kill after spending 20 minutes deciding what to do and getting all that gear as a reward is awesome. It's actually a rush. But spawning in full gear with the click of a button and teleporting 20m from unsuspecting players and killing them...I can't work out how in any possible way that is satisfying or even enjoyable.
  8. I was just driving an army truck on the above server, approx 19:28 gmt 15/9/12 all of a sudden it teleported me somewhere else in the woods, figured hackers so just kept driving so didnt get shot at! and it kicked me out the game saying admin ban : spawning vehicles???? i was driving one not spawning them! now it wont let me back on that server?!?! I DONT HACK!!! daz

AussieStig you scare me; you can't even remember how many vehicles you have (first it's 51 then it's 12) and you post like a 12 year old. You're the power hungry admin who'll ban anyone for stealing from you or killing you then probably reset the server so you can get your gear back.

    Free Helicopter

No, it's like you bought 51 drinks. That being said, i agree that paying for the server entitles you to a few perks, but I'm not sure what you need 51 vehicle for, unless you have 51 clan members all wanting their own vehicles
  11. aussiestig

    Free Helicopter

Have you been on our server? No you haven't. There are over 10 people in my group, we don't have any more than 12 of the vehicles. So what if people hoard? We earn the gear, don't we get to keep it? People like you make this forum a shit place to be, Do us a favor and leave.
  12. The Reaperman

Someone from the dayz team please Help!!

we have restarted the server. Many many times. I believe i stated this already. The chopper is nowhere apart from in the building as every restart the hotel is damaged (blackened cracked walls, smashed windows) the only time this doesnt happen is when we restart the server and it doesnt load the vehicles/tents the building is fine so somethings happening to the building. We lost the chopper a fortnight ago on sunday so even waiting 7days for it to respawn somewhere else after not being touched doesnt work. We have 5 people working at this believe me we've tried everything. Once we got the chopper spawning in a tree after a crash and we had to use a bus to bounce the chopper off on restart when it continued to spawn in the tree and blow up. Eventually we got it back but a tree and a hotel are slightly different.
  13. First, apologies if any of these suggestions have been, well, suggested. But nextly! Sabotage. It would add to the paranoia, and probably the variety, of gameplay were players able to make changes to lootable items, vehicles, or areas, in order to make them less effective/hazardous to use/explore. A few examples. 1 - Poisoning consumables: Survival in the zombie apocalypse is a fight for resources, whether those are blood bags, food cans, water containers, or all other forms of medical and edibles. Obviously you're not going to be able to carry it all, and, while you could eat the excess to stave off hunger that much longer (And get fat, fatties.) Perhaps, using something you've found earlier, you'd be able to poison the item to have dastardly effects on other players. Perhaps small poisons or chemicals could be found for this purpose, and would instill a lessened set of stats for a player unlucky enough to eat it. A more devious use for this would be the ability to foul medical items by introducing the same harmful substances, or even in the case of blood bags, by placing zombie fluids inside an otherwise life giving bag. Imagine! Johnny Nobeans gets low on health/blood, and someone gives him a transfusion. But alas! The blood was tainted with the malevolent intentions of another player, and instead turns him into a zombie! Perhaps not as severe, but you could see the implications. Water and oil would also be able to be tainted like this. To avoid not having any way to know if the item was tainted, perhaps in the description of the item it could say it smells off, or in blood bags perhaps the color of the fluids doesn't look right. 2 - Vehicles: I'm fairly sure most of us have been at some point run over by someone else with a car. It's a fairly messy and rather fatal experience, to be sure. Wouldn't it be fun to get back at those people who ran you down like so much roadkill? With a toolbox and the appropriate tool, you could puncture their gas tank, cut their brake lines, or otherwise foul the car. I don't suggest being able to harm the engines, because, while realistic to do so, it would be unrealistic, and likely very hard if implemented, to fix a car engine. But the thought of some jerk off flying off the side of a cliff because you clipped their brakes appeals to me. Or someone trying to lift off a helicopter and wondering why the rotors won't spin up. That would also be amusing. Some visual cues would be neat to implement, like being able to see a puddle of fluids from where the car/bike/chopper/etc was damaged. Oh, yes. Also you could pop the tires on a pedal bike rather easily. 3 - Rigging explosives: Being able to control where loot is easily attainable should be an aspect of the game, whether it is with razor wire (when it gets fixed), or with a cleverly rigged grenade to a door handle. Say you know this building is frequented by players, and you want to make sure at least one of them isn't able to get the nice items inside. You have a grenade, and a bit of some sort of thread. Could be rope, string, etc. You attach the pin to the doorhandle via those fancy knots that all survivors would know, and poor Johnny Nobeans, fresh from his tainted blood induced death, gets an eyeful of shrapnel and explosions when he charges through the doorway. To a lessor extent, you could attach explosives, if you have them, to car door handles, bodies, items, and perhaps even set up tripwires. Visual cues such as the ropes, explosives, or a small noise when the door is opened would be an interesting way for players to figure out they had a few moments to gtfo, though I must admit I'm rather short on ideas for that. Also. Rigged explosives should be able to be defused, though there could be interesting ways to rig those explosives with more explosives. A bomb within a bomb, if you will. 4 - Fouling weapons: Not much of this would go on, but it would be interesting to say, jam an already loaded magazine or mess a silencer up to make it cone the noise towards the target, but I can't see many 'fair' uses of this, and as such won't spend nearly as much detail on it. While some of these suggestions would be ripe for abuse and definitely would be amongst the crueler aspects of the game, they would be realistic, and would add just one more shade to the already paranoia colored world. Feel free to expand on these if you would.

yes , A hive reset means that all vehicles and tents will be removed & put at their spawning location. We had a hive reset 1 week ago so the vehicles might be taken already. dont worry , we will do resets 1 time a month to ensure that people will be able to find some vehicles.and yes its a shame that their is a low ammount of people online on the server , which is why ive started this thread to encoruage people to join our server.

    Barbed Wire Rage Thread

Definitely. I think the tone in my original message came from what I perceived as a knee jerk reaction to a problem that stems from dupers and hackers. Barbwire is by design, in real world and in game, to keep people out of or away from areas. It's certainly doing that is it not? It didn't turn out well because we have morons that think its funny to grief new spawns. There's no denying that. I just use it differently. I use it to funnel vehicles and people into kill zones around my home turf (which isn't near Elektro, Cherno, or spawns). I use it secure my vehicle against players without a toolbox. Can barbwire be used as a griefing tool? Yes, and so can anything that can be created or placed by a player will be used to annoy others but they can also be used for intelligent purposes too. Knowing that, I still want more ways to impact the game world. I don't think we should climb under a rock because some kiddies want to abuse the game mechanics. Those guys aren't going to stick around anyway and the game will evolve into something more interesting than endless deathmatches on the coast. Everyone seems to want things removed but rarely do they ever offer solutions to problems. I think the best solution is to let players vault wire but suffer bleeding damage when they do. It'll still serve to ward off the weary but it wouldn't prevent people from getting into buildings. There are better solutions than getting rid of it completely. Hell, make constructed items a server setting. Besides, we know exactly who's bringing in tons of barbwire and tank traps to the coast and it's not legit players. It's the dupers and hackers. For the record, I usually stand against the removal of NV (even though it hurts legit players on night servers), thermal, one hit kill sniper rifles, and most of the most annoying things in game because I know these items are duped, farmed, or hacked and the rarity has been ruined. Plug these holes and these problems will diminish. Even a complete hive wipe sounds good to me at this point.

Someone from the dayz team please Help!!

The DayZ team can't do anything. Vehicles are individually serverside saved, so just get your friend to restart the server and it should be in one of the spawn points.

    Mad Max Dayz?

I agree that some 70s, 80s vehicles like stationwagons would be good and generally in standalone most the civilian vehicles should look run down, scratched, rusted etc Cars with roo bars or bull bars if you call them that would also be good, likely to be in the countryside also and should reduce damage a bit for frontal collision You should be able to armour a car out with scrap metal, but then it should drive a lot slower and consume more fuel

DE 969 Admin BattleEye ban abuse

Hey, i cant say something to the topic but it seems that a cheater visits this server frequently. During the last week it happened 2 times that all vehicles (repaired and not repaired) except the helicopter were on the northwest airfield. The last time this happened, there were a lot of weapons in one vehicle, which doesnt exist in dayz, for example as50 TWS, L115..., ... Maybe someone official can check this. This cheating thing and vehicle beaming is very annoying and destroys the game!!!

I was on ur server yesterday, pretty cool, but when u say that the hive will reset, does that mean that all the tents and vehicles will go bye bye? Couldnt find any vehicles btw, and i checked a lot of spawn locations :(

    Clan Flags.

How about an Item in the game , a Flag and Flag Pole this item would take the clan infor from the clan xml file of the person holding the item. When a person places a flag in the ground, it claims that area, 30 or 40 meter radius around the flag as the property of that clan, once placed the clan would fill that area with their things, tents, vehicles, fencing etc. If a player who does not belong to that clan logs into the server inside this radius then the server would push the player out to 40 meters away from the flag this can be a fixed spot chosen by the server or random around the radius. Clans will then be able to build proper camps, fencing them off and protecting them , other players would then need to correctly assault the camp , taking down any defensive walls and fencing and killing the players before getting at any fat loot in the tents, this would instantly stop server hopping into defended places. If you place a flag in a building would be cool if the building then got the flag on the roof with the clan logo, would look mint I think, people would look at it learn the clans logo and learn who the people are.

    New server, no vehicles?

This happened to the server I bought. Its one of three thing. #1 You need to restart your server. #2 Check logs to see if they are spawning. #3 e-mail your server provider. We found out what happened to ours and it may have happened to you. Our server was up for 6 hours before I got home from work to check everything out. They had it up and running for me. Well some skiddy teleported every vehicle to the NW corner of the map in a nice line up. Took about a week and we found them threw someone we met on the server flying our/the server chopper over us. I sent him an Admin message he landed and flew us to the where they all were. He thought it was ours and was borrowing vehicles from the site and returning them at night before we got on. He had only been on the server for two days when he found the site.

"You probably want to get rid of it :) Because when the database scans and find you are holding it, you'll be labeled a hacker and your profile perma-corrupted." Rocket Quote from the link... So in short you will be branded a hacker. Ie. "your name is on a data file that we erase at the end of each week to free up some cache space"..Even Rockets response is "Meh, nothing is gonna happen bro. We brand you a hacker but, it doesn't mean anything anyways". Here's the link that you should have posted. http://www.battleye.com/support.html Quote from Battleye. The ones who do the banning...."No one is banned for using non-hack programs (like Fraps, overlays, etc.), picking up or using hacked in-game items, weapons or vehicles, being on a server at the same time as a cheater, or other passive non-cheating activity. Therefore all requests mentioning these things as possible reasons for the global ban are ignored." So to sum this thread up. Do what you want. Play how you want. Its a damn video game.
  23. There's rarely one cause for anything really, and you listed a few of the factors. A lot of it had to do with DayZ being the only sandbox available. Like early MMO's, when you're the only game on the block you don't have to offer much. Moving to the next game was NOT the chief reason though. Yes Guildwars2 came out, but most people I know play multiple games, and I see many people playing OLDER games instead of DayZ. You can only offer a broken, buggy, hacked game with no actual content besides hunger/thirst for so long before people move on. Boredom, frustration, better alternatives, whatever you want to call it. The PvP was decent but the context rarely changed (I would argue making vehicles rare had a lot to do with this, but that alone would only have added so much). The goals were pretty weak (drop tent, drive vehicle around, that's it?). The features were pretty poorly implemented (server hopping, combat logging, humanity farming, etc). The pace of new content was extremely slow, bordering on non-existent (oh we removed pistols on spawn, we changed cz spawn rates, we removed bandit skins, we added bandit skins -- when the fuck will a new feature ever be implemented? My bet is on never). And the level of polish of ArmA, the underlying game, gave little confidence for the standalone, and made for a hugely frustrating DayZ experience. It's easy to overlook killing a buddy by walking into him, getting killed by trees/rocks/doors/etc, having to work around a shitty interface for loot, doors, doorWAYS, ladders, etc, hacks, etc. But eventually you just say fuck it.
  24. I have added a wide variety of vehicles but nothing like tanks or planes. this is also chernarus.
  25. I am fully aware what the server admin can do and that one in particular wasn't even on at the time. Yes in the same location. Same vehicles were in the same spot by the sandbags. I'll call it quits when you can actually back up your claims with something other than hearsay.
