  1. Me and my friends had 3 camps, all of them had atleast 1 car or motorcycle and we had tents on them. When we got on today, everything was gone, and I talked to other players on the server and everything was gone for them too. What happened? Is this just temporarly and the server needs a restart or did really everything disappear?

    Logan, there's no point. Im pulling my server down until I can get a passworded one. Since this thread popped up a few days ago I've had ppl logging into my server within a few minutes of most server restarts and tele'ing all vehicles to them, occasionally all players as well (but 100+m up so they fall to their deaths) and other fully destructive acts. Doesnt matter if I ban someone when all that happens is another ass comes in and does it all over. Not saying it was you guys. Just that popularity of the server resulted in hackers/scripters deciding they wanted to ruin the server. When I spoke to vilayer about the problems btw they told me to ban ppl, I explained its that the bulk of the problem which I cant solve through simply banning is these mass kill server vehicle tele scripts which happen as soon as the hacker gets loaded in. The solution they offered me? BAN EVERYONE who I dont personally know BEFORE they can fully login!! Cant have passwords, but they are fully cool with me banning everyone and being a complete ass. Funny how they explained to me that passwording within their hive would infect the overall hive, but.... having ppl mass ban isn't problem. They also didnt seem to understand the problems they are trying to stop from occurring with passwording already happen.
  3. Apparently vehicles aren't spawning on new official servers instanceid's, there's another thread about it somewhere on this forum. If it's a private hive can't you just look in the database objects table? Seems like a pretty basic feature.
  4. Fewer Resources. Rare Ammo, Rare Fuel, Rare Food, Rare Drinks... So that you are thankful for every bullet, every drop of fuel and every bean can you find. To make it a fight for Survival, not a fight for the best gear. On the other Side, Vehicles should be more common. And More Melee Weapons, Homemade Weapons + Unarmed Combat.
  5. Less High Powered Rifles but then again More weapons in general. Oh, and a larger map with more vehicles, but some sort of system to prevent vehicle hoarding. And something to prevent Server Hopping/Combat Logging.

    To all the people that say that the tents not saving kills the game for them: What are you? Pathological hoarders? (no offense intended) I understand that the tent bugs kill your way of playing this game, but seriously, what's the point of looting millions of items to put them inside a tent? Is it to instantly gear up when you die? I say that kills the purpose of death in this game. Make the game so that it's impossible to die, then. What's the point in dying anyway? I mean, without tents, you can be decently geared in about half an hour, 3 quarters tops, and that's not much longer than the walk up to your tents in the north. Ok, you won't find rangefinders or AS50's in an hour, but who need those, right? Everyone will steal my beans for saying this, but I would completely remove tents. I know that's not happening, but it's my opinion. On topic: I don't see any problems, graphical glitches have disappeared (although I said that same thing early with last patch), reloading magazines on login is still there when they're put in the backpack (that's impossible to fix until standalone, from what I heard from Rocket), and I can't say anything about tents or vehicles because I don't use them. The mod plays good enough for now. With most bugs almost taken care of, next thing: FEATURES! I want dogs or whatever, all buildings enterable (if that's even a word), ragdoll physics, female zombies, more skins, guillie suits and camo for the ladies, and lots and lots of other goodies, including whatever makes this game more difficult: harder zombies, harder enviromental hazards, increased high-end weapons scarcity (if there's still duping in standalone I will cry a lot)... In other words, WE WANT STANDALONE! PS.- I hope this post doesn't sound too angry, I'm just kidding. ROFLMAO

    My friend thinks im a hacker

    I wouldn't say my friend's think i am a hacker, but they do rely on me when it comes to crashed heli's and vehicles, they always say they spawn where ever i go, so they just end up following me.
  8. My Team stopped playing as well... way too many douche canoes now. We played for a solid 3 months almost every day. We used to love searching for vehicles and peoples camps, working as a team, finding downed choppers etc. About a month ago we started running into players that would teleport to our location and start killing us one by one , and when we would try to shoot them they would be invincible. Douche baggitry at its finest. We got fed up with working real hard every night getting good weapons and gear searching the map for hours only to be killed by a teleporting hacker, so we decided not to play anymore due to our frustration.

    Turn ON that Train!

    So, me and my friends were talking, how about getting that train to work? Thought long and hard about it and was undecided if it should work all on its own as if a fully automated train, or if teams could fix it up and use it to get around! As for it being automated, that would be awesome! because it would encourage and enable player spread getting us out of those death trap starting cities, also It might give some more functionality to the WATCH! [How cool would it be if you could catch the train to get to another city, OF YOUR CHOOSING], just get off at the right stop. [ ALSO could be a safe zone? just a concept, which would further enable communication and team play.] If It were fixable by teams and they could use it to get around, it is easy to understand that this would be VERY loud and cause a lot of attention, [ thinking it should be very well fortified It is a train for Christ sake!] None the less its another means of transportation and its creative! Just thinking out side of the box... Tell me what you thought of my Idea, and which you would prefer, an automated train which has a Undelayable schedule [ HOW AWESOME WOULD IT BE IF YOUR FRIENDS RAN TO THE TRAIN AND YOU WERE RUNNING TO GET TO IT YOURSELF, THE RUSH OF THINKING YOU COULD MISS IT AT THE VERY LAST SECOND AND BE SEPARATED FROM YOUR TEAMMATES AT LEAST UNTIL IT COMPLETES ITS FULL CYCLE!] or the idea of having a VERY reliable means of transportation that would enable easy transportation of VERY large shipments at a very high speed, imagine being camped out on the roof hunkered down on this train driving around with your teammates blowing through towns from one to another easily looting large cities and on to the next but knowing that the train is on its tracks and ANY player could simply follow the tracks to find the location of this beast of a vehicles for him and his friends.

    Yesterday I lost my 27 day old character to an invisible assailant and decided to try to meet up with a few random players. Side chat was open, so I was able to confirm a few friendlies on the server. People start talking about finding vehicles, and when I find myself in a construction site I decide to pick up some car parts as a way to make friends faster. Soon one of the players finds a bus, and I let him know I have an engine, glass, and scrap. He picks me up from the firestation and then we drive to pick up 3 more friendlies. We decide to raid the NWA for loot and when we are only a minute away, hacker kills us all. Some of us are teleported to be killed again, i had waited a few mins to log back in, and when I did, I was far far away. In chatting with my new friends I learned that the bus was still where we died, and that the hacker had dropped an ammo box in the form of a medical supply box! I ran as fast as I could back to where we died, finally meeting up with everyone again. Now I have all of the gear I lost from my 27 day old character again, plus Camo clothes! We then pile back into the bus, and start towards NWA again. After someone asks what we should do I suggest blowing up the Antenna at green mountain with satchel charges. Nobody seemed to like this idea, but it was then suggested to blow up the Comm tower at NWA. We arrived there, and killed off the hordes of zombies approaching, while one of my new friends planted charges. After he ran back..... BOOM, the comm tower is now a pile of rubble! We returned to the ammo crate for more explosives, and leveled another building at NWA. Now we came back to the ammo crate to rearm. One of my fellow players was struggling with his mouse wheel options when... BOOM. He accidentally triggers the satchel charges in the bus, killing himself, myself, and another player. 2 players survived the blast. Now I spawned at Cap Golova, and it's 3am in RL, I should be in bed already. But I must run back to my body, and the supplies. Finally, after running blind, with no supplies, and dying of dehydration, I finally find our bodies and the ammo crate. I gear up once again and go hide under a tree before logging out. I have FRAPS footage fof when we blew up the Comm Tower, I may upload it tonight.
  11. I've seen a lot of people talk about using keys to get into cars, and I don't think it's really a good idea at all. DayZ is trying to be as real as possible, but doing small things like this is just taking it way too far. What if someone stumbles upon a fresh car without wheels, is unable to fix it, so they just take the car keys and dash? Each car would have to have it's own unique set of keys (which will most likely never happen). What happens when someone with a jingly key ring stumbles upon a camp? They didn't find the vehicles originally, but they have the slick path to stealing the vehicles. You could still jack them without the keys, but it would be easier if you had the ring of em. I can just imagine the trolling.. A random and his bud find the almighty car camp. The owners of the camp leave the car keys in the ignition because it would require quite the amount of bagspace to carry all those keys. The randoms decide that their fresh and empty backpacks will be more than enough to hold all those shiny keys, so they take them and drive off in a vehicle of choice. Owners come back, and now they have the only vehicles in the server, and the location of their keys are beyond them. Besides, games like Battlefield don't require you to have keys for vehicles. I realize BF isn't trying to be as realistic as DayZ, just trying to make some sort of relation.

    US 3040 Random shut down

    I do apologize for the inconvenience. We experienced a hacker attack last night and immediately shut the server down to gather logs. Upon restart we noticed there were inconsistencies with the loading of camps/vehicles and have been working with the server rep to work this out. I hope that we have now solved the problem and the server will run smoothly. Again sorry for any inconvenience and I hope that you do not experience any data loss.

    If you play on newer servers (a lot of the servers host by survivalservers are newer) you will come across more vehicles that haven't been horded :)

    You sir, have a point! We do seem to be missing any form of law enforcement/emergency service vehicles - we have fire stations and hospitals! Drivable fire engine/ambulance as well as police vehicles could be interesting also? Starving zombies in the prison cells once they introduce the zombie life cycle/health system ;)
  16. V1.7.2.6 tents and vehicles remain. Destroyed vehciles respawns 7 days after destruction. Inactive vehicles respawn 7 days after inactivity. Otherwise go find them in the woods. Or, make another dumbass post that everyone already knows about.

    I'm assuming life before the infection can't have been much different to life after it. Who enforced law and order? Fires were preventable, medical supplies where still available. But what happened to the criminals? How hard would it be to get a couple of police stations added into the stand alone? What they could add: 1. Weapons Chernarus, from what I gather is based loosely around the Czech Republic, according to wiki, here's a list of weapons used by the Czech force: Handguns CZ-75 CZ SP-01 CZ 75D PCR Compact CZ P-01 CZ 2075 RAMI CZ P-07 Duty CZ 97B Submachine guns Vz skorpion Carbines Sa vz. 58 Sniper rifles CZ 700 (to be replaced by the CZ-750) Although not exactly exciting additions, they increase variety all the same. I'm sure trunction / baton can be included for melee too 2. Equipment: A general list of police equipment and maybe how it could be useful: Stingers Perfect for ambushes on vehicles, griefing car owners and breaking cyclists legs Handcuffs For all your kidnapping needs, on the theme of kidnapping... Tazers Brilliant for incapacitating survivors CS Gas / Pepper Spray Again, brilliant for incapacitating survivors Loud Speakers Use at your own peril, but communicate up to 3x the distance Radios A common suggestion, but perhaps there's more than one type of radio with different wavelengths Dogs I know they're already in the works, but another legit reason to have a canine friend. Maybe they can be trained to track in different ways, maybe they're just the same with a police helmet on. I don't know Shields I think I've heard a lot of people calling out for these already Tear Gas An incapacitating smoke grenade3. Bell 412 Eurocopter EC1354. Building / Structure Maybe 3 or 4 of these exist on the map? They would be no more overpowering than the current Firestations. Not a lot you could do with them, maybe they could have some cells, where you could pick up the good shit, aka, morphine. TL;DR - oh well. It's mainly just bullet points you know Any additions people can think of shout them out. I've heard of people suggesting prisons, but I don't really see what they could add. I think there's a lot of scope for police stations

    Disappearing vehicles?

    I'm having an issue where the vehicles and the tents disappear (the physical tents gone not ran over, just gone) server has restarted multiple times and still nothing.

  20. Hey guys, Cash here. Admin of Treasure Island on Vilayer Hive. Was anyway. For the last week, the server has been plagued by issues concerning the Vilayer Hive. Vehicles stopped spawning. People kept logging in only to find themselves with absolutely nothing... no assault pack, not even a bandage, having lost all of their gear for some reason due to the Hive not saving. Vilayer told me that my Vilayer code was out of date... even though I definitely installed it. But I gave them the benefit of the doubt and installed the latest again. It changed nothing. Same issues. Players were losing their gear for the last two nights, and hit me this morning after spending HOURS getting geared up, I log back in after work and have NOTHING. On top of it all. today my publicvariable.log started going crazy. I have been using this log to track hack attempts, like it is supposed to be used for. But suddenly out of nowhere, the log is overflowing with "null object data". It jumped from a couple 100k to 3MB in 12 hours. I tried rebooting twice, but it made no difference. So I open a ticket with Vilayer, and they tell me: "publicvariable.log is a new feature from battleye which tracks certain settings, you need to look at the scripts.log rather than publicvariable.log. It worked fine for weeks now until today... but now, instead of me using the log that is supposed to filter things out and only show hack attempts, they want me to just ignore that log and use scripts.log instead... which is completely unfiltered and filled with unnecessary data when trying to admin a server and ban hackers. What a joke. Vilayer Hive is broken. If players can not retain their gear on the Hive, then it is UNPLAYABLE and is UNACCEPTABLE. Not being able to use the BE logs as they are supposed to be used means the game will be UNPLAYABLE and is UNACCEPTABLE. Treasure Island will no longer be hosted on Vilayer, and I will be shopping for a new dedicated host.
  21. Hello, im a player in dayz with nickname Empty. I play dayz days now with some friends, today i logged on to play with my character on DE 1684 but my character is in airfield and has different items that i used to have. My character yesterday had Ghilie,FN fal (Primary weapon), coyote backpack (Inside coyote m24 something dont really remember this mini sniper name with red dot, meat, epi-pen, painkiller, one water, one blood bag and one morphine and all the stuff (Hunting,hatchet,gps,map,clock,compass,box of matches,rangefinder,nv googles etc.. And i was near my camping (I cant say the location exactly in public, but i can say that i was far away enough from airfield). Today my character was in airfield in the main road which is inside airfield with one alice pack (Empty) 1 bandage, flashlight, one road flare, and nv googles only. Anyway, i thought that it was temporary and maybe its bug, so i decided to reconnect, when i connected again i was in the same place with the same equipment. So i decided to go check the camp because maybe the server made a restart/reset or something, i went to the camp, and all the vehicles and the equipment in tents were there, so the server didnt make a restart, i disconnected, and i connected again after 1minute, i was again in the same location with the same equipment (IN Airfield). Really i dont understand whats going on, can someone help me? I would aprecciate it. (I dont expect to get my gear back, this is impossible, i just want to know whats the problem with this) Thanks.

Hey all you Wireworld DayZ gamers, Just to let you know that the server I rented has been turned off by the new owners of Wireworld and I didn't get a chance to get any data off it as it happened while I was in Hospital having my operation :( The good news is that we have a new TS3 server called Soho Wales with the usual password if you'd like to keep in touch and I hope we all do. If any of you want to get together and keep the Wireworld 'flame alive' I'm up for renting a server as long as we can share the monthly cost. Thoughts? AN2 Supply Cargo drops every 45 mins with a good chance of Antibiotics in the loot now plus all spawns have been re-done to include all of the map. JSRS Sound Mod 1.5 is now allowed on the server Full Moon Nights. Combat Loggers get a penalty on re-log - Unconscious for 5 mins plus bleeding and infected - doesn't kill you but leaves you on very low blood. New Script: You can now remove items from vehicles, wheels, engine, etc. All EMPTY Vehicles are removed 2 days after spawing in. Vehicles with items in their inventory are not removed.     Missing vehicles.

    Well we have had a hacker in our server spawn all the vehicles in different places and I believe that whilst we (the admin team) were playing Takistan somebody came in and spawned two vehicles at one minor camp and the rest on the coastline near Komarovo, I would thank him because the vehicles have been missing since the last teleporter but I hate hackers.

    Missing vehicles.

    I'm sure there are already dozens of threads, but has anyone seen a vehicle recently? I've spent the last few days travelling all corners of the map and haven't seen ANYTHING. Not so much as a bicycle or fishing boat. Normally I'd accept that people have stashed them, but I stopped at every known spawn point and server hopped over a dozen servers and still nothing. It's a little hard to believe that all vehicles on all those servers have moved.

    (Not sure if this has been posted yet as i didnt feel like browsing through pages of topics and the search didnt bring up anything related. If its a repost... please close) So there you are, after hours of walking, dodging zombies and avoiding open fields because of snipers you finally find that sweet ride. That lazy ATV that takes you anywhere you want... road or dirt, the slower but quiet bike or that partybus you and your friends wanted for days. The only problem is 3 wheels are blown out and the engine is all busted up. You look around and see the road full of old wreckage and start dismanteling the parts you need, mount them on the vehicle you found and drive off in to the sunset Wouldn't it be great if instead of having to scavenge old industrial buildings and little shacks or garages you could just, with a toolbox ofcourse, remove tires from old cars that are standing on the road. The same goes ofcourse for everything else. But then you could make the engine parts more complex (split it up in 4-5 little parts to combine into an engine). And ofcourse reduce the amount of wreckage that is standing all over the roads a bit to make it less easy. And ofcourse being able to dismantle the parts from your vehicle again so you might be able to combine parts from 2 broken vehicles to get one working. Its always so frustrating to be in a little town with a flat tire, miles away from any decent building that will hold a wheel, while there are so many cars around me with perfectly good wheels on them and i can not even screw them off with my toolbox. This would, in my eyes, add to the reality of the game ;)
