    DayZ Clan?

So, Ive noticed the small amount of clans that have started to play DayZ. And i figured, I'll make a clan so that people aren't just fighting by themselves or taking a chance at aquiring friendlies. My intentions are as follows: 1. Aquire a nice and FRIENDLY group to play with often. 2. Travel as a large group to make sure that we arent singled out by a group of 3-4 people. 3. Arrange meet-up locations and base camp set-ups. 4. Function nicely together and be able to aquire a nice assortment of weapons, vehicles, ammo, etc at a base camp for anyone who may need items. If this clan grows largely I will have a set amount of rules such as: 1. NO stealing from the clan's Armory or you will be kicked from the clan immedietly. 2. NO INTENTIONAL friendly killing as this too, will result in a kick from the clan. 3. NO HACKERS ALLOWED IN THE CLAN. FAIR PLAY ONLY. 4. Have Fun! I also intend on having ranks in the clan. Not to who i trust most but to who proves that they are ELITE. Whoever proves that will gain PERKS. Such as: 1. No fighting will happen when we come across certain RARE weapons or items. We will see WHO wants the item or weapon and the weapon will be given to the highest rank or most sensible player. Example: A player will not be given an SVD-Camo if they have a coyote backpack and no ghillie, Makes sense right? You must have at least 3 of the qualities listed below to be in this clan: 1. Experience in playing DayZ. 2. Must be above 15 years old. (Exceptions may be made if you think you could be helpful for the clan) 3. You must NOT be bossy in ANY way what so ever. 4.You MUST have patience. YOU MUST HAVE SKYPE.(TeamSpeak3 is a fine alternative, specify which you have) Info on me: My name is Ben. I am 16 and I live on the Eastern coast of the United States. I have experience in playing DayZ (A LOT) and i im very interested in leading a clan. (Obviously) This clan will not be officially started unless I receive 10 "applications" for it. The more the merrier! I hope whoever reads this decides to give a clan a try. You can reach me by email or text message if you have any questions or to submit your "Application" for the clan! Email: [email protected] Text: 1-401-680-6785 HAPPY GAMING!!! :beans: B)

What is your definition of hoarder?

I don't really have a problem with hoarders, I see it as a challenge to go and find them, really it's pretty hard to hide a tonne of vehicles.
  3. I seen countless post with people raging on the hoarders, but isn't that what anyone would do during the times of DayZ where everything is scarce and follows the rule of finders keepers? I myself has a few tents scattered throughout the map filled with medical supplies and common weaponry and ammunition , and one s1203 van I found with terrible condition in prodi. I fixed it up, hid the van in the forest and takes it out whenever I go to cherno and electro, does that make me a hoarder? The only vehicles i ever came across was the bus in electro and the atv near the coast. Thought i could find motorbike or even old bikes because they have so many spawn points, no luck so far What do you guys think?
  4. Damm, the server restart ate the vehicles and tents. Next restart will be fine though. We can do this tomorrow unless I can get my friend(server host) to restart the server.

    DE 888

well i played a while on this server (DayZ DE 888 (1.7.2.6/96751)| Over 50 Vehicles repaired | No Hive | ) because i was sick of getting frustrated by thouse hackers. -death #1: was laying on sniper hill when suddenly someone apeared near the faktory and started autofireing on somebody in elektro (about 500 meters away), when that guy was killed he instandly turned around and autofired in my direktion until i died. -death #2: got my gear back and went over to cherno when suddenly some1 started shooting at me from sniper hill with an as50 or something like that (at that point i was close to the railwaystation). after about 8 shots an explosion killed me wich wreked a house near by. -death #3: just respawned and instandly got killed without any gun noises -death #4: got teleported somewhere on the map with alot of green metalboxes. 3 other players where also teleported to that position. at first i ran away to hide. suddenly all boxed explode. i went back to look for the other 3 guys. nothing happened to them. i started shooting them. they overwelmed me and i left the server. here is a screenshot of all the players on that server when the teleporting happened. i guess one or maybe all 3 of them are hackers/scripters

    My Dayz tale...

After getting killed many a time at the coast, I decided to go north and be a scavenger. My character is now 14 days old and it has been quite interesting. I have almost all the good guns, and have not found them in tents, all from spawns. I am missing the DMR and a pair of NVG, which I am still trying to find. Around Day 4 I found a bike parked outside a supermarket. I jacked it. Not sure if the guy was inside or what. The next day I hopped on my bike and headed for the NWAF. I was happy as can be, ringing my bell truckin along. Then my screen blinked and I was in 10 feet of water still sitting on the bike. I hopped off and surfaced and realized I was just off shore at Krutoy cap, along with every vehicle in the game, even with the helicopter. As I swam to shore, There were 2 seemingly fresh spawned characters running around the vehicles unarmed. I ran past them, hopped in the white pick up and took off. (I didnt want the unarmed guys to find guns in the vehicles and shoot me) The truck was full of gas and all green, lucky me. I zipped back to my little camp, and was happy to have a vehicle, even though the way I obtained it was pretty lame. I drove my white pickup for many days, we found numerous helicopter crashes, looted many towns, and even drove up to green mountain and honked the horn. (only an idiot gets out of their vehicle at green mountain) One time, after re-fueling at NWAF, I spotted a guy coming down the runway in civies with a shotgun. As I approached, he didnt shoot at me, so I decided to help him out and probably ran over 200 zombies for him while he looted the hangars. As he darted off to the woods, my white pickup gave a friendly beep and we went back to camp. When I would log off, I had a great spot to park the pickup away from my camp, buried in the pines. Before I would log off I would back up about 100 ft., with my view looking at the truck, so it is the first thing I see when I log back on. So I log in around day 10, and when I appear, I am staring at a vehicle, but it is not my pickup truck. Now sitting in the exact spot is the little red 4 door car, the UAZ, I believe. I must have stood there for 10 seconds before I moved, thinking "dafuq?". I approach the car and check its gear and I swear it has everything in it that my truck did. Did someone swap it out and politely put my stuff in it? Did the server restart and put the wrong vehicle in its place? I hop in it and its all green, and I drive it to my camp. As I pull up to my camp, I see the white pickup truck! Now I am really confused. Oh well, I think, now I have 2 cars. Then I notice a bunch of gear scattered around my camp, and none of it is from my tent. A crossbow, a SAW (which I didnt have) and other stuff. I scratch my head, clean up my camp, and take the white pickup on a loot run. At the NWAF, I was in between both runways, and spot something on the ground, I pull up to look closer, and its about 20 of the green water bottles all in one pile. Again "dafuq?". After the day was over, I park both vehicles in the pines and log off. The next day I log on, and the pickup is gone, but the little red car was there. I thought "Oh well, at least I still have something to drive" As I walk up to it, I notice it is shot to hell, tires flat, windows broke, everything bad. I'm on foot again and it sucks. I start gathering parts to fix the car, but dont find everything and have to log off. Today I log on and my fixer upper is gone. I want that bike back. :P Thanks Dayz for the fun "dafuq?" moments, as I'm sure we have all had many of them. If anyone reading this has been partying in my camp in the middle of the night, thanks for not jacking all my stuff. My feet may be sore, but at least I am still geared up really well. Strelok

    DayZ Standalone Confirmed

I was highly anticipating BF3, but the terrible dumbed down vehicles and Dice messing with weapons all of the time in an effort to keep it "balanced" really was a letdown. I'm hoping Dayz will not fall into the same hole listening to a bunch of players whine all of the time and make ridiculous changes to everything.
  8. My wishlist, and some hopes..... I hope... - they don't make it "too real". The mod feels good, you die fast and getting the drop on people is important enough so you feel a need to be careful and not blunder around. However, things can be too realistic, and you transition from a fun and challenging game into a simulator only the most hardcore want to play, and they're generally assholes to play with anyway. - along the "too realistic" lines, they don't make running a long distance a chore, and the food/water system doesn't get out of control. I like having to eat and drink, and have died from lack of planning a few times. I simply don't want to spend half a play session searching for food because I need it every 4 minutes. - the game stops breaking legs for stupid reasons. If rubble and such is included, make it work or take it out. BF3 is a huge game in a well known franchise name, and one of the number one complaints about it is the rubble and terrain don't work properly. If they don't kill you, it takes twenty tries to vault it. Either make it work or leave it out. Wishlist: - Good weapon balance. Yes, military grade hardware should work better than the Enfield (even though it's military grade itself....). However, there shouldn't be a God-Gun. Travel back... waaaay back, to Call of Duty. No, not that sissy Modern Warfare crap, the REAL Call of Duty. Single shot rifles with open sights in that game were devestating if the player behind it was actually good (Kar98 anyone?). Sure, a machine gun was generally better, but a skilled player could do work with a bolt action rifle. If the standalone would reward skill over "my guns better so I win:", it would rock. A survivor shouldn't be a victim just because he has "old-school" gear. A good fighting chance should be there, not "Oh Lord, I only have an enfield, I'm a dead man" - Better weapon design, more realistic fire rates. A skilled marksman can fire a bolt action rifle pretty quickly. An IPSC shooter can blaze with a revolver. The follow-up shot times on some weapons seem to be designed after studying a Special Olympic marksman team. As far as design (or damage, to narrow it down) it would be nice to see the sidearms have their own feel. A .357 revolver packs a wallop, with a slow reload rate and moderate recoil, while the M9 doesn't do as much damage, but has a 15 round magazine to make up for it, and a faster reload. Aside from giving the sidearms their own feel, it would also reward the better marksmen in the game with higher damage potential. Again, back to the "skill over gear" ideal. - Inventory to remain as it is, with a slot system. A weight system just gets too cumbersome (not a pun) to work with. There is such a thing as getting too realistic and ruining the fun of something. How much does a rotor assembly really weigh? Who cares, it takes X amount of slots. Of course, the inventory system as it stands is a raging piece of crap, but I like the slot system over, say, Skyrim's weight system. You can simply carry too much crap in Skyrim, and in a survival game it only adds to the urgency and decision making when you only have so many slots to load up. - Bases tough to build. Nothing is more annoying than a game where every lone player has real estate. Important things should take teamwork, such as creating a base for your squad, and the higher teir vehicles (choppers and military trucks). Sure, reward the little guy, but the big stuff should take large amounts of effort by a group. - Don't add too much crap. More junk means more to balance, and really adds nothing to the game. Take, for example, Fallout 3 (or New Vegas). For a game that large, with such a large landscape and so much to see and do, there are really only a few weapons. I hardly noticed it, I doubt many people did. Why? Because sometimes less is more. - And if you really want to make my nipples hard, make weapons and attachments different, and add a slot next to the weapon for attachments. Say most M4's you find are bare-bones. However, you can find an eotech or a suppressor (or a home-made job with an oil filter, but that's getting into fallout territory) and attach it. It removes the "My end-game gun is the M4 SD" and adds a "Man, I found my M4 finally, wish I would run across a suppressor for it...." or "All I have is a crappy Enfield, but if I find a scope for it, it won't be so bad"
  9. The Alice Pack has more space than the Czech, when it is physically half the size. Silent Ammunition. (Are silenced weapons really that "OP" that they need to be controlled with "magical silenced ammunition"?). Fragility of vehicles. (Some private servers have modded the vehicles to be much more resilient to contact with objects and provide a much more realistic, and less frustrating experience.) The temperature system. Please feel free to add any.
  10. For the majority of weapons and ammo the idea that they sit in the open all the time is not the most realistic. I think adding foot-lockers, lockers, buildings with locked doors, and safes (maybe on the safes) would add a bit more realism, but not too much. =To get into a locker you must have a crowbar or tool kit. =To get into a locked house you must have a crowbar (or break a window, both of which are noisy). =To get into a safe you must use an explosive or combination (maybe on the combo, where would it be found?). =Increase the rarity of tools or crowbars or limit them to areas where vehicles spawn to limit availability and increase PvP interactions at these "hot-spots".. This will ensure the rarest weapons stay in the hands of the most prepared players. Also hospitals and military areas would have their medical supplies and equipment under lock and key anyway. Throw in the option of a possible alarm for break-ins (rare) which would send every zombie for a kilometer after you. Of course soda cans, food and water would be available as easily as they are now. This idea is not for all weapons, just the upper echelon or as a random encounter.
  11. The Natives are taking steps on the Homeland server to deter hackers/scripters. To do this we are going to password the server, and have given admin rights to quite a few people to try to ensure there is ALWAYS an admin online for damage control. If you are interested in playing on our server you can get the password by registering on our webpage. All players, including clans/groups, are welcome to apply and join. We have an 80 slot server and TS3 that anyone is welcome to join and use. We Are trying to create a nice community. So Bandits and Hereos are both welcome. Hope to see you there Server Rules: 1. No Duping 2. No Clones 3. No Hacking 4. No Cheating 5. No Racist Names 6. Names in game must match forum names. 7. No Radar All punished by a ban. To register go to http://www.native-soil.com

    Camouflage Nets For Vehicles

In real world situation the people would take and hide all good stuff, and in this game/mod there should be no exceptions, because it is a apocalypse SIMULATION. I approve of the camo net( in editor under empty->objects(military)->camo...). Stop complaining about people "hoarding" vehicles because if you are smart then you would know that, the clans store their stuff into trucks and other vehicles...so if you find their vehicle which should not be such problem in 16x16km area(which can be even smaller if you know where to look), then you are in a BIG +, you have fully functional vehicle with lots of loot. The only thing which should happen to vehicles is degradation of mobility because of weather(tires getting rotten, engine failing because of bad spark plugs, ). Respawning of vehicles is load of crap.
  13. I'd like to start up a small to medium sized group of survivors. The plan would be to find a lower populated server to act as our base of operations, gear ourselves up and get some vehicles. I have gameplay experience already so players new and old alike would be welcome.
  14. Hey guys, I'm currently looking for a small-Medium sized group of people between 3-5 people to play with Don't really care which role I am placed with, I prefer something with Vehicles or Scavenging. If you are interested in sending me a request, feel free to contact me on skype at Xmarkxi
  15. Hey i got one idea, the story which inspired me is(if you don't want to read this just skip next few lines). Today I finally got some good gear after 10 days of "surviving", after looting I decided to move away from airfield into forest. When suddenly every player on server was teleported to the middle of the ocean. Sadly everyone was killed from fall, including me. Probably i won't play game again for days, because it was my third time getting killed by a F#$%#$"#%$#%%$!"# scriptkiddy( who definitely should be teleported into the middle of ocean in RL) and i died 3 times since i started playing dayZ( note: never died by any other cause than by an fat ass idiot with no F***** regard to its OWN SAFETY). First time i got shoot with silenced M4 in the back(scriptkiddy teleported right behind me). Second time i got killed on spawn 5km away from my death again by the same guy( he teleported again behind me ). I know it will be very hard to solve completely the problem with hackers because arma engine is very trusting to information which comes from clients. This rollback idea should at least prevent hackers from doing basic stuff. Now the idea is fellowing if something "unnatural" happens on server like teleport( The constrains should be set if player moved in one second interval more than 100 meters when on bare foot then rollback, if in vehicle and moved more than 500m in one second then rollback,... i am giving here only the example how to detect this kind of behaveur ) or illegal weapon spawn or any other "illegal" stuff the server should automatically rollback the "affected" character state before the event. This would prevent the hackers teleporting themselfs behind you and even prevent you being teleported to the ocean or in the air... EDIT: one more thing...i never created tent in dayz but i got the idea how to prevent the hackers from finding the tents same for vehicles...tents should only spawn/create when players are 400m around and despawn when no one is near. This would lower the chance of finding the tents in one sweep from 100%(250km^2) chance to 0.013%(0.032 km^2) chance to find them with ESP hacks. If i am not mistaken(bit of rusty with arma scripting language) these variables about tent locations(and loot information) same for teleport guard, can be defined locally, only on server, so the hackers can't change them via public vars(yeah trusting engine).

    admin ban : us2888

Can you please post your friends name? So I can look into it. We had a lot of hackers teleporting and spawning vehicles that night so we banned those who was next to them yelling at us to not swim the helicopter or they will shoot us.

    Huey VS Blackhawk

Its in the video description first line >< (DOH! I forgot these forums embed the video :P ) This is a private hive server running a vehicles mod.
  18. Vehicles are great until a hacker comes to the server and uses a magnet script to deposit all of them in the middle of Elektro.
  19. Angel Knight

Why can't I shoot out of a moving vehicle?

Forget moving vehicles, can I at least fire out of a stationary vehicle?
  20. 5hizzle

    Huey VS Blackhawk

This is a private hive server running a vehicles mod for those wondering.
  21. I agree with TC I don't understand why we can't fire out of moving vehicles
  22. So the question goes as in topic. Tell your story about the weapon class you prefer and why. I tend to stick with assault rifles with stanag ammo and silenced side arm. Currently running around with M4A1 Holo and M9SD. Primary weapon is for defending my self in pvp (which probably I didn't start) and secondary goes for silent zombie take downs. My play style is Heroish meaning I don't engage in fire fights and help random guys if I trust them not to stab my back. My worst enemy is ( I think) everyone with M107 or AS50 which in my opinion are pointless and too common sniper rifles in the game (thanks to the duping). Where do you need anti-material rifle in a game where vehicles are rare already? (no need to answer to that :) ) Well that's my fare share and I do like that we have the freedom of all play styles but I would like to see the game culture to move a bit to softer direction where you would really have to think about the consequences when shooting some one.
  23. dannyboy (DayZ)

Is KOS really that big of a problem?

i vote none of the above. pvp can be avoided to a certain point, hop to unpopulated servers, avoid the big towns. I really don't think if this was a real zombie apocolypse, you would avoid others, and not shoot on site, cause you would need people to keep some shred of humanity, build stuff, fix things, kill zombies, (and save bullets, after all, there are none being made anymore) etc. You wouldn't kill them cause you saw them. the one and main issue with this game is the crazy amount of glitches and hacks. That is the only thing that ruins the game for me. Dying because your putting a wheel on a 4 wheeler, or you crouch next to your tent and break a leg. or a Zombie jumps through a wall and one touch at full life and you break a bone and bleed out. Getting teleported out to debug plains, all the vehicles teleported to one location, shit like that makes this game/mod suck. someone shoots me clean and i didn't see them or know about them, shame on me, and it makes me more and more aware of my surroundings. I see another player without a gun, and they don't see me i go the other way, if they do see me and they have a gun, i move like crazy to put myself far away, or in a spot they can't get at me easy. I usually type i don't want to fight, but if they move towards me its on like donkey kong
  24. I'm 15 and have been playing dayz for 2 months. I haven't really teamed up that much but I'm bored of being alone. I'm looking for a couple of guys to group up with and set up a base, get vehicles, etc. Add me on skype: pantsman12
