    Time to share things about ammo :D

    M9 SD, M4 SD and AS50... I just stalk players and when I get a clear shot I get them either with the M4 or the AS50. It's amazing how many people do not look around... I get all the ammo/food/supplies from the victim or their vehicles and tents.
  2. Travelling circus !! Finally an excuse to have some serious predators roaming around !! Maybe an elephant that charges vehicles on sight. That would be sweet for standalone.
  3. I'm one of the players on this server and I have only good things to say about this server. Oh no, wait. There was one complain. It was Joshie and his crew (Brone and few other people). They were constantly harassing,insulting and flaming over chat. Majority of players simply wanted them to be removed. What's more, they were told several times on the forum (who knows how many times through PMs) what they were banned for.They simply carried on with their nonsense and acted like it was all new to them. Besides, soon after the ban they got back on the server, teleporting people and vehicles over the ocean. So if you don't want a drama/hacking on your server, don't let them in. Server is developing and I'm excited to read about new fun stuff that is going to be implemented.
  4. Also, we haven't gotten all the choppers / good vehicles yet and there's still cars in coastal cities. So get 'em quick!
  5. If you go into PHP MyAdmin and go to object classes then copy the vehicles name, then go back into objects and delete ikarus from 1 of the spawns and copy paste the new vehicle into that spot, the vehicle will be there next restart and should stay on the server forever

    Helicopter not spawning on freshly wiped server

    Hello, on a default dayz server there are spawning 11 vehicles. And in the config of your server you can control the percent chance of the spawn AND the maximum of how much from that vehicle can spawn. So you maybe don't find a helicopter because the chance of that spawn is very little and so other 11 vehicles will be spawned on #restart. e.g.: In mysql functions -> pMain: DECLARE iSpawnNumVeh SMALLINT(3) DEFAULT 11; Set the last digit (11) to maybe 24, then you got 24 vehicles on the map. further more in mysql -> object_classes: There you can see "chance" and "MaxNum". Set UH1H_DZ to 0.90 and 4. restart server, find heli ;)

Perks: - Already 3 clans on the server, along with several random players doing their own thing. - General store near kamenka + komoravo, also a place called UpRiisE's playground north of Komoravo with everything you would ever need (except a vehicle.... well maybe sometimes that too) Otmel has everything you would ever need aswell. - 120+ vehicles on the server including up to 10 choppers (unlikely to have all spawned at once obviously) - Active admins, very solid and quick to remove any and all hackers. - Side chat enabled, including VON allowed - just dont SPAM! - Clans are all against one another, rivalries galore (LBX is the best) - Everyone spawns in with NVGs because night time is enabled and we want to make life slightly easier. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bottom line is we enjoy our server, but would love to add a couple more people to it. Currently the numbers of players are around 10-15 on average. Looking for somewhere around the big 30. If you are interested in joining send me a message and ill let you know what the server name is.   8. The alpha is the perfect place to get trained up for the Standalone, while gear is still readily available. What is the reason for expecting so much content from a game that is in alpha status that started as a pet project? Even in its current form DayZ represents what the 90's did for us experienced gamers. How cool was it to fire phasers and give orders as Capt. Kirk in Star Trek 25th Anniversary? How about Indianapolis 500: The Simulation on one floppy disk for Dos? The original Command & Conquer and the smash that was Red Alert. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, I recently purchased on Steam to reminisce. The 90's represented the best achievement in gaming because the technology was moving so slowly that the story, the immersion of the game was essential to its success. As the technology began to progress more rapidly we saw the development of 3D games and modem/online multiplayer games. I certainly enjoyed the Quake and Unreal Tournement bloodbath multiplayer games. In my opinion the technology for presenting the story and characters started to stagnate by about 2000. I won't dispute that graphics have gotten better since 2000, but how has flashly graphics ever improved story telling? DayZ represents a 90's style innovation in gaming. DayZ has managed to make your character valuable enough to physically get your heart beating hard when a situation is getting out of control. Most games there is some way of recovering your character, or reloading at your last save point. In DayZ, you might have the prospect of a 8km hike back to your body and the chance that it won't even be there anymore. DayZ seems to have attracted a number of players who don't understand what surviving means, those people will eventually filter out, but I believe that DayZ will be left with a large enough loyal fanbase to keep the standalone profitable. I hope to see in the standalone, the ability to convert the offroad pickup into a technical, or having to collect a bunch of scrap metal and construct a still for purifying water for a large group of survivors. Perhaps have a funnel in your toolbelt and fill canteens when it is raining. Back in the Alpha, I always have something to do. Sometimes its just me playing, or my wife and I and we do laps of the map collecting gear for our group. It never hurts to stockpile. Maintaining a fleet of vehicles, rotating parking slots and recovering stolen vehicles becomes a full time job. I play on one server, and you get to know the regulars that way, you figure out the areas they like to go through and then you ambush them or die trying. DayZ represents the ability to digitally wake up our hunting and survival instinct, I doubt any other game can do that this well.
  9. So all of these vehicles I can add to the spawns table of my database and they should spawn just like any other vehicle without editing the mission? Say if I were to unban a few vehicles the little bird for example, would players get the required data during the receiving mission file apon joining the game or would they have to download my changes and install it locally to their client?
  10. It says that using hacked weapons and vehicles wont get me banned. Questions regarding how exactly to get unbanned will be ignored. Maybe not ''exactly'' but I just find this a reason to get ignored if I send a request. I think that, no matter what, you will not get unbanned. Global ban is a permanent ban. But I think if I write a request about this they will think its a story or something. I can't show them that I don't cheat.

  13. there isnt no depth once you realize this dayz is no fun to play. basically you start out like wtf what great fun learn the ropes getting shitty guns and a rusty axe pull off a kill or two on your search for loot on bandits and think sweet ! then you find your first real good gun get your first vehicle and your like yeah man im on this now. then you learn the lie of the land where everything is dont need map and can get your basics very quickly . this is when the game goes down hill cause you realize its just a game of find a gun, water and food then rinse and repeat. once you had the vehicles the guns the camps there is nothing left. this is why dayz needs missions like wasteland mod and other things added in to keep things from getting stale like it does after a month of playing the game. the reason dayz was , is a success as it was fresh and every dived in very quickly . now ask how many of your friends if in groups play it at all or daily. litterally everyone i know stopped a month ago after hacking got so retarded . i find it funy that every excuse in this game is often down to the game being a "ALPHA" well when standalone comes out its going back to "ALPHA " haha a game that never breaks alpha !!!
  14. Found this camp at the top North West corner of the map, we think it was a hackers camp due to the large supply of hacked guns. We blow up the two vehicles to teach them a lesson or at least slow them down a little :) All the tents where destroyed with the 2 cars (Shown in video). Please excuse his retardedness. Enjoy.
  15. I had the same, I was doing about 70 on an ATV with a friend on the back, crashed into a roadblock which hadn't rendered, and both died, and now my friends won't let me drive any of the vehicles we find :( But it's normally due to high ping or bandwidth for me!
  16. the exploit would be server hopping to find parts, this sounds more like if you kill someone in a different server with your weapon is cheating... to me it seems legit, i mean: you keep playing in different servers with a jerrycan or a rotor in your inventory, and you go from heli spawn to heli spawn until you find one. you fix the parts you have and serarch the next industrial area for the remaining parts you find them, finish to fix heli, fly away. what that guy is doing is just this above but with all the parts :-) having six helis is a shit like all those people who have vehicles camps in the woods, it's for that that i always search the north and west borders like a bitch to find camps. i played also in a private hive without helicopters( a message in the chat said it was because people is not able to hide stuff) and it was full of camps and hoarded vehicles. but the sudden sound of a chopper is priceless in this game
  17. I know it's not balanced and its not intended to be but in many cases, people get the choppers and raid all of the camps and steal all of the vehicles on the map and take them away. They don't add nearly as much to the game as they take away. Like the way vegitation renders from the air, it's practically transperant. Not to mention the fact you can find all of the helicopter crashes on the map in under 20 minutes of a restart, the ability to parachute into places is ridiculous and once you've got a helicopter everything becomes waaaay to easy and there's nothing left to do. Once again, they take away much more than they add to the game

    Hey Guys, Nice work with the server. Looking forward to getting nice and settled in. Quick question, are all the weapons and vehicles standard Dayz as per the wiki or are there some extra goodies that have made their way in legitimately? You mentioned the thermal AS50's already. If we find any thing not standard should we report/destroy. I'm all for keeping the server as intended. Thanks again.

    DMR effective range?

    DMR sucks man. If you want a light sniperrifle, go m24. Dmr should only be used at less than 400m, or at very still targets (or zeds). Don't bother to fire against moving targets, you will miss and then just leave. Don't fire against vehicles, its like trying to hurt a tank with a makarov, its uselsess. They just turn around and kill you. The only use of DMR is probably to hunt boars and zeds, or maybe scare away some looters trying to get your beans. *(1 dmr mag = 4 m24 mags)

  22. Added some new code to the server. You can now put objects eg a Bike into a car and you can also tow other vehicles.
  23. The distance you can hide vehicles out of the play area is directly proportional to how gay you are.
  24. So while I was bored in college history, I concocted a "DayZ Ideas List" just because I could. Some of my ideas aren't new but if you see something from another, I simply just agree with that suggestion. These are in no particular order in terms of importance but I'd try to widen the idea pool a bit to maybe get some brainstormin' a brewin'. Some of terms or wording might be a bit off but I'll try to explain each one the best I can. Please tell me if I contradict myself anywhere in the list. Enjoy. Big towns and cities have "infected air" - Gas masks or other types of face masks would be required for extended stays (30 minutes or so). If infected, Antibiotics and/or other vaccines are required to become fully stable. When infected, you become disorientated and stumble around after a long term exposure. Vomiting and fainting can occur. Loot spawns on other surfaces in building other than just the ground. They could spawn inside cabinets, drawers, open boxes and cars (totaled) as well as on objects like tables and counters. Addition and new threat of wildlife such as bears, wolves and birds. All of which could be infected and could possibly infect you with an assortment of diseases. Random events such as zombies bosses (bosses is a bad word but like special zombies that are harder to kill especially when in large hordes), large hordes in random places, wondering zombies, asset drops like weapon and ammo crates or food and water drops. (Again random times and at random locations) Ability to move and shoot. Not halo style moving and shooting but while zoomed in, you can move the speed you move currently while zoomed only now you can shoot. You could run and hip fire but it would have to be inaccurate to an extent. Ability to run with your flashlight pointed ahead instead of it pointing at the ground while running. (Perhaps a toggle option) Chance to dismember players and zombies from large caliber rounds. (Plus more gore and ragdoll effects of course) Location appropriate weapons - Chernarus would focus the majority of its weaponry on Russian guns such as: Makorov TT-33 Saiga-12 Ppsh-41/43 PP-2000 Mosin Nagant SVT-40 SV-98 SVD VSS AEK-971 AN-94 AK family AS Val SR-3 A-91 PKP RPK Some sort of flamethrower RGO, RGN, RGD grenades Igla anti-air (maybe not) [*]Realistic weapon and blunt force damage - No more of all pistols doing the same damage (minus the revolver of course) [*]A wide array of melee weapons as well as the use of your fists. [*]Location appropriate vehicles [*]Limping and staggering if wounded in the leg(s), feet, torso, etc. [*]Wide array of clothing options including but not limited to jackets, coats, helmets (that actually add protection), hats, bandannas, pants, and possibly kevlar vests. [*]Radio system with countless frequencies to talk with friends across the map or to lurk on others. [*]Batteries for items such as NVG's, GPS's, flashlights and rangefinders. Perhaps some type of car jumper to jump-start a car if the car battery is weak. If the battery is dead, you'll have to find a new one. [*]Brief UI display when a tool or item is activated or changed then fades away soon after. Only food and water indicators can be visible at all times. Also show the "real" time of day so you don't play TOO much. (Oh man, I've been playing for nine hours and didn't even know - Now you'll know) [*]Set game conditions such as: Day/night cycles from 4/6/8/10/12 hours. Softcore mode where you don't lose your gear when you die but it severely degrades and you have to possibly fix some gear to continue using them. Hardcore mode (how it is now) with perma-death, you lose all gear and only spawn with a bandage and perhaps a degraded melee weapon. (same for softcore but maybe throw in a few extras like painkillers and a extra bandage) Some sort of deathmatch mode with a scaled map size with increase weapon drops or start with a weapon of choice at a lobby screen perhaps. Wave defense - fairly self-explanatory. Day only/night only servers. [*]Addition of tools such as a multi-tool, saw, nailgun, hammer and nails, etc. [*]Ability to barricade doorwars and small passages with wood planks, metal sheets, etc. Zombies, bullets, melee weapons and certain tools can destroy barricades over time. [*]Ability to craft make-shift weapons with common items - Tape + kitchen knife = A shitty bayonet [*]Customization and addons for weapons. Customization to the extent where you can paint your gun different camos or colors (if you find paint), add items like optics, suppressors, flashlights and lasers. Some of the items might not be compatible with certain weapons. [*]Thermal vision goggles anyone? [*]Medication to bypass disease side effects for a certain period of time. [*]Proper hunger and thirst increase/decrease (Find a good balance so I'm not always eating every 30 minutes) [*]Eating and drinking sounds are currently way too loud. You would think if you were being stealthy and you had to eat, you wouldn't be smackin your lips so loud that people in a 50 meter radius could hear. Maybe lower that just a tad. [*]When restarting a server, the time of day will be sustained from the previous instance. [*]Underground structures with a separate instance with passwords/booby traps. The inside structure could handle ten players comfortably at one time. This room would have a weapons rack, boxes, containers and other storage type things. (Perhaps you have to bring empty containers and boxes to use as storage for your underground lair? "X" amount of scrap metal to construct weapons rack?) [*]Ability to add a 50 to 100 meter tunnel system as a secondary exit/entrance to your dungeon. [*]Ability to salvage vehicles for their parts and scrap metal. Would require certain tools so you couldn't just go destroy everything all willy nilly and it would take a decent amount of time to complete fully. That's it for now. Please leave constructive criticism or if you hate something, please explain why or make the idea better. I will add more ideas as they come in to my brain and as well as good ideas from you guys. (Yes I know there are tons of threads like this but I don't care MUAHAHAHA)
  25. You will know when you hit the end of the map, there is a black border and no grass/trees etc past that line, just infinite green rolling hills. Regardless, hiding it up in the middle of nowhere is no guarantee it won't be found since that's where everyone looks for vehicles/camps.
