If I recall correctly, its one of the batch files that you modify. You should see one that lists vehicles, then how many of each can be on the map, then their spawn chance percentage. I cant log into my box right now to tell you exactly which one though.

I've actually tested vehicles saving off the map, as well as camps and players. Tents cannot be places, vehicles despawn and players are respawned (with their gear) in a random map location.

Im currently Getting my server hosted threw VertHosting. Was wondering how i could get more vehicles to spawn than the average 30 i cant find the files to edit or what i need to use?

If you are going to look off the map those are your best bets, but a dedicated group being little bitches about vehicles can store them pretty much anywhere (and yes no matter what groups say storing vehicles off map is a bitch move). Problem is those vehicles might be underwater off the coast thanks to some stupid little hacker, so you really have no way of knowing. My buddy and I got teleported to the tiny island in the far Southeast corner of the in game map (not even close to being shown on Dayz db map) for a hack attack but managed to kill two of the guys and whoever was hacking did not have a weapon and was kicked after we identified him, but pretty much every vehicle on the map was on this island. We blew up the ones we could but did not have enough ammo to destroy all of them and save them so they would respawn, so more than half the available vehicles on this server will remain on this island. Edit: I am fairly sure the new patch claimed to fix this issue but did not.

Vehicles can no longer be stored off the map, once a server restarts, vehicles too close to the edge of the map get returned to a previous location. (Where that is beats the hell out of me, but probably spawn location.) Chances of you finding one of the 20ish vehicles (including bicycles) is pretty slim. Especially if there are active clans taking them, using them, and probably destroying them. You may have found a few camps, but from how clans usually work, they have outposts, you probably just found a previous outpost that was once a main site that became compromised. Most tents are still full of loot thanks to the dupe bug, so don't expect them to be their main host site. Try finding where all the sites are, and do rounds, eventually, you might catch them in the act.

*I am not going to tell you how to install Lingor Island or RMod, nor am I promoting it's use* So, a little info for those that don't know: Sanctuary: I private server with its own hive, your character doesn't transfer over to other servers. Lingor Island: A tropical island map that uses the DayZ mission. Rmod: A modification that allows the use of more vehicles and weapons. To my story: I was exploring around looking for vehicles to repair and happened up two helicopters sitting on a helipad at the Calamar airfield. This place is extremely high traffic due to large amounts of military gear loot and therefore prime bandit territory. One of the helicopters was an Apache-like attack helicopter and the other was a navy transport helicopter similar to the Huey. I carefully made my way to the helicopters, hopped and and realized that they needed ALL the parts to fix so I went on my to search for parts. I managed to find the parts after an hour or and repaired the Apache because its just so badass. It has missiles and shit. I am getting the rotors going only for some random guy to run up and shoot me out of the cockpit with some kind of new silenced weapon. Obviously, I was pissed. So I hopped on my TS3 channel and called all of my friends to come hunt this guy down. Luckily, one of my friends was close by and soon avenged my death. My friend got in the chopper and was headed to pick me up only to get blown out of the sky by some kind of anti-air rocket launcher. After scrounging around for repair parts I managed to make my way back to that helicopter, I was now just short 1 engine part and 1 scrap metal to get this bird off the ground. At the time there were about 10 people on the server, so I figured, might as well ask for help. BIG MISTAKE....I got too trusting in other people and broke my "Don't trust anyone" rule. I run up to the helicopter only to get sniped from some nearby tall apartment buildings. After that I spawned and yet again made my way to the helicopter after finding some engine parts and 3 scrap metal. I ran up to the chopper from another angle and ran into some guy shining a flashlight it my face. His buddy standing next to him shot me with another silenced gun.. I was about to give up but I figured one more try wouldnt hurt. I then spawn at the closest spot to the airfield. Not even a 2 minute run back to the chopper. I search around and find no one. Turns out the helicopter is completely empty of fuel. I hear some zombies getting pissed but I knew it wasnt me that was doing it so I hop in the chopper and man the door gun. I then see this guy in a bandit skin run around searching it and he runs right in front of my gun. He didnt stand a chance. I totally shredded his body throwing about 75 rounds of 240 ammo into him, just for safe measure. I get out and start to loot his body. He was totally geared out, He had a coyote pack, all the tools you could possibly need short of rangefinders and find this new auto-shotgun weapon that shoots HE pellets. All of a sudden I hear the thunk of a 203 and the then a large explosion. His buddy in an attempt to kill me ends up blowing up the helicopter I worked so hard to repair. He then continues to throw hand grenades at me. I run around, and run up this little hill he was on and he started shooting at me. Luckily, he had the aim of a Stormtrooper because he didn't hit me once. I then ran up to him and blasted him in the face with the auto-shotgun. His buddy raged, I looted both bodies and then hid them. Turns out these were the same guys that said they would help me repair the helicopter....pricks.. So 2 destroyed helicopters and 3 lives later, I have 1 bandit kill, 1 murder, and some badass weapons and gear. Wasn't a total bust and it was pretty rewarding in the end to destroy those guys that betrayed me and make off with all of their loot. Just thought I would share that experience with everyone. Hey Mr Red text, try scouring the west side of the map... and then the north but sometimes you may have to look up to 1k out the map for some of the vehicles

I have not been able to find any vehicles on my local server once in all the times I have played. I've spend this week scouring spawn points for anything, motorcycles, cars, ATV's. And yet I find nothing. I KNOW there are a bunch of clans that play regularly on the server Just today, In a spectacular stroke of luck, I fell upon maybe 2 clan sites, 4 tents at one, 10-14 tents at another. FILLED WITH gear. I found the 10-14 tent clan site near the edge of the coast in the far north, where nobody would look, which is specifically why I looked there. (I was really scouring for boats which would most likely be moored up there since it's remote) But no vehicles, which leads me to believe they are stored off the map. Where should I look to find them? Should I look at wilderness just north of their tent sites (Its pretty close) Maybe follow the closest road to the wilderness out and see what I find over a few hills? I'm angry because I cannot ever find a vehicle, and I am SURE that they have them. (The major clan group) If I do find vehicles, I'm taking the one I want, then destroying the tires on the others, and marking the location on the map.

I've a group of 4 people from London We are all 15ish and play at weekends and holidays. We aren't really serious- we don't have a leader- but we play fairly tacticaclly and don't dome retarded stuff. We mostly travel between military loot spawns tracking other players to kill, looking for vehicles, meeting up with each other etc. We've played the game a lot and we are pretty causual and just play whenever people hop on skype. depends what youre doing. first person is awesome in most vehicles, its kinda gay in the atv or dirtbike. also its alot better to use 3rd person if youre looking for heli crashes.

We run a Bliss standed hive. DayZ rule set with the only change at Vehicles. Guns, items and spawn points are all Dayz

Ah nice, thanks for the tip, I haven't really entertained finding vehicles as playing on my own for the most part I think it's more effort than the worth of it finding all the parts to fix one up just to be even more visible and audible to everyone else! That and the fact I never seem to come across vehicle spawns anyway!

*BUMP Great server, runs smooth, loads quick. Ran by dedicated admin. Personally I don't go the green zones, but there's plenty of surviving and vehicles up North. It just needs to become more populated with survivors now 8/10 (-1 Green Zones, -1 Needs more members)

These guys arent fair, they must be using navigator or the logs, coz they track us down like dogs with no problems, and if we take one of their vehicles, they kick us.

There are 52 Vehicles on this server 2 are Heli's 7 are old bikes the rest cars only 7 vehicles have been claimed the rest are for grabs :)

I don't believe so but I have only been playing there for a week now. It does have other vehicles than whats in the public servers. They roll back when a hacker attacks and they have bicycles reset on server restarts for convenience. In a mater of 3 days of play I have acquired 5 vehicles and found at least 10. Their server is down now for some reason though but don't let that discourage you from hopping on later.

HsH - Hillside Hillbillies Is looking to start up a bandit group on an established RP server:(server in peak times runs dual servers/ single hive 100-120 people. Avg on super slow times 15-20 ppl) I am looking for bandits who want an extremely tough challenge as the rules on the server make playing bandit very hard. We currently have 5 members, looking to add 5-10 more total. Please read! :) What Im looking for: Players can play at 9/930pm eastern zone + Players that understand hit and run and guerrilla military style game play Players that want a challenge Players w. sense of humor/ aren't offended Players that dont mind qq'ers (alot of those on RP servers :/ ) Players that can use vent Most of all players that can follow rules Why RP? Alot of players lol at RP, I did too, until I tried out this server. What makes the server different and a complete challenge for bandits? Simple, there is no KOS/ murders. That means we MUST approach others to rob them/ kill them/ steal their vehicles. Its a unique challenge and actually makes the game alil more intense to play. Currently I play solo, and have to avoid cities, and move from site to site w/ caution. More realistic in some ways, making the game a bit more fun. (of course IRL there would be ppl that just killed others on site, but that would not be the norm) Thats why I stayed on this server. In addition, they have done a excellent job at keeping hackers/scripters at a minimum which is always nice. Playing on this server will challenge the simple idea of shoot 1st, or hide and shoot at a distance. That is easy, and any1 can do, but not any1 can actually step into a role of the game, where you actually have to THINK to play. Heres how it works. People have to be warned, Ie drop your weapons, stop your car etc.(Im looking for "harsh style people, as I am not nice when playing bandit) If they comply you rob them of w.e and send them on their way. (sounds boring, until it happens to you, then you see a whole different feel for game) If they dont comply, the laws of open survival take place. What i am looking for is like minded players that want to play in the hills. Set up road blocks, cut of pass-ways to cities like the nobors/ nwaf, track down vehicles, raid camps. Play a real style bandit. Not the players that stay in starter cities and kill ppl, that's a waste of time and really is for weak dick players. ideally i would like to find anywhere from 5-10 total members. If interested please pm here and I will give you more details, we can talk and see if we'd be a fit. If I were you, I'd completely skip playing on the public hive servers. They are no fun whatsoever due to the hacks people use to track players and objetcs, teleport around the map, and spawn weapons/vehicles. You will end up spending most of your time trying to avoid hackers. As suggested above, sign up for one of the private hive servers. You'll enjoy the game much more from the start, and won't waste dozens of hours of your time and effort.

I think we both missunderstood each other mate. There are 51 vehicles on our server. My clan has around 12 of them, with no plans to get more, only to give more away. We like playing with other people, and hoarding is boring as shit.

We have 12, there are 51 on the server. I don't know what's hard to understand about this. We're going to pick 5 of the vehicles (for my 10+ player group) and make a camp, we'll then leave the rest in cities for other players. If I was power hungry, would I make a thread about GIVING AWAY a helicopter.

Byrg apparently Rmod is allowing u to put some new vehicles on the server along with new weapons, so i believe that would refresh things up a bit heres a video of the server running Rmod: well u probably know that but for ppl that dont know what Rmod is.
