  1. Yup same, no vehicles on my HFB Server also. FAIL on there part in regards to Vehicles on the servers.
  2. Inception.

    Vehicle Spawn Behavior Compilation

With your missing vehicles, did they just randomly disappear? Or do you think they may have been stolen?
  3. So, I started thinking about how, I really hate when I'm killed, and respawn, ready to work my way back up, and I find a player or a tent and I get great gear fast. I mean I love it at first, then I remember that it sucks because I have nothing to do but find vehicles. One of the "Rare" weapons I find the most is the AS50. I'm not proposing a Hive Wipe because thats just stupid. I think that we should try and restore the rarity of these weapons. I mean, I've found trucks with 6 (!) AS50's in the trunk. So, if you find any one of these weapons that is SUPPOSED to be rare, but isn't, you should seriously consider destroying it. Thats right, DESTROY it. I mean, its fine to keep one around or something, but I think the community should join me in this massive undertaking to try and get a lot of the surplus high end weapons out of circulation, so they are something that is RARE. I mean, I've found 2 natural AS50's and maybe 30-40 ones off players. I find M107's at chopper crashes more often, but they aren't as good as AS50's so I don't mind. I mean, I have a story for you to show how bad its gotten, and why I made this thread. So, I went up North and in the woods I found a camp of about 20 or so tents, and 5 V3S's filled with literally nothing but AS50's and the occasional TWS. With one tent, and one car dedicated to being totally filled with M107 rounds. Want to know how much I took? None. Want to know what I did with it? I fucking blew ALL of it up. Oh man, you could see the smoke for miles. Some of you may be thinking "THAT'S JUST BECAUSE ITS HACKED IN" but thats the point, so many of these have been hacked in they aren't rare anymore! I guarantee you, if most other people found this, they would have loaded up, and put this supposedly "Rare" weapon into circulation. So, try and destroy any excess rare weapons you have, as crazy as that sounds.
  4. same situation here server DayZFallujah - No Vehicle - () - (Recruit|3D:1|CH:1) - hosted by Moitas | HFBServers.com they told me that they are fixing it, 3 days without any vehicles
  5. ARMA II Dayz 1.7.2.6 looking for players hamachi no whitelist generous staff how to loin this great server in the description! 3 HELIS ON SERVER this is my dayz server! we have over 50 vehicles, and active admins. Server up for about 6 hours in week and 12 on weekend GMT. we are located in the UK and so we recommend that you only join if you have fast internet or are living near the UK. no hacking, result in a ban. first 2 person to join my server gets free weapons and equipment! you have 3 networks ID:dayzhive1 dayzhive2 dayzhive3 no passwords are needed on any of the networks! to loin the server in arma 2 OA go to remote and have it as follows port:2302 IP:5.204.153.1 join the server which appears and your there! if it doesnt let you on, try to update to the latest beta patch of the server. or if that doesnt work the server may be offline, as this isnt a 24/7 but if your on at the right time you can have a great time on the server i promise! hope to see you there!
  6. This is in no way related to game play so I hope I have the right spot, but it would be cool if the standalone had good support for multiple monitor setups (2, 3, 6 whatever), most games deal with this well inherently but some have issues with zooming/using iron sights, menus, driving vehicles and I'm sure there are other things that could not work but those are the ones I have heard of. Awesome list by the way!
  7. Please note this is for public hives only. Most private hives alter the vehicle spawn behavior. If you have information as to how often and how long it takes for a destroyed vehicle to respawn. We also need information like the max number of certain vehicles that can be on at the same time. I know the UH-1H has a server max of 1, so I assume the other vehicles have similar restrictions at 3 or whatever. My MAIN question is, when a vehicle gets completely destroyed and the husk despawns at the next server reset. Does that vehicle have a Minimum of 7 days to wait before it can respawn or is 7 days the maximum? Also will it choose any possible spawn point for that vehicle or are they bound to individual locations? So for example, say pickup truck A and pickup truck B spawn at points 1 and 2 respectively. Both trucks are then found and hidden. If Pickup truck A gets destroyed, can it then respawn at either point? Or will it only spawn at point 1?

DayZ is a joke in its current form

Haters and lovers must come to an agreement, we are operating in a broken system. That is the nature of the alpha, which is now simply being used as a testbed for standalone. Rightly so. However, the lack of teamwork and lack of things to do once geared up is the problem we face. It is a fair problem, and the reason for us playing the alpha. There are other solutions to KoS-ing than simply encouraging teamwork however. I speak of just giving the player more tools to do general "stuff". Blocking off roads and buildings, forming settlements, maintaining camps, scavenging for materials, more survival requirements, weapons maintenance. The list goes on. If I were more consumed in going about these activities, I would be less inclined to either seek out other players to kill or venture into risky places just for the hell of it. Furthermore, giving players the tools to accomplish things as a team would further discourage this. Vehicles are a great example, as commonly, for a helicopter... it takes a group to repair such a thing. This, is obviously a flawed system in my opinion, as it is far too easy to do with a minimal amount of effort. But that is just me talking. The concept itself remains, if there were more "big-ticket" items that require a group to fix/create/etc, there would be less time spent going to Cherno/Elektro. The fact remains that once you're relatively geared up, there's nothing left to do but kill. Survival, on the whole, is secondary. If you've got 3 or 4 Cooked Meat and a Water Bottle, you're set. You've nothing left to do but kill others. Survival vs. environment, and survival vs. zombies needs to be made more difficult. Survival vs. players is already self-explanatory. Lastly, the argument of "Don't go to Cherno/Elektro", though simplistic, certainly makes sense. I should preface this by saying, I don't want people to -never- enter the big cities. However, these cities should no longer be attractive to low-level players. It creates a situation where people never know anything else, other than Cherno/Elektro. The cities should be dangerous to all. There needs to be serious repercussions for firing a weapon in and around the cities, and cities need to have far more persistent zombies than they do now. It is my personal opinion, that there sould be a random "FOB" spawn in the woods to further disperse high-end loot away from the typical settings (NWAF and Stary). One per server, with a respawn of say 12 hours. Puts more interest in the woods, and disperses high-end loot in a manner that makes sense.

2 guys looking for bigger team

Sounds cool, but we just do our thing and recruit or kill anyone that comes past us, raid camps, fix vehicles, medic people, and don't join others.I'm a Undergrounder for life.some images: Small convoy: http://i.imgur.com/xkw7V.jpg About to raid a base across the lake: http://i.imgur.com/EeqdO.jpg Us in a Bus: http://i.imgur.com/6WHh4.jpg Finding a crash site: http://i.imgur.com/yn1ho.jpg I know it doesn't look like there is 10 people, but we don't stick together, we go in small groups to raid cities and bases and if anyone of us dies we will hunt the bandit down.

    Good times were had!

Indeed. Bandit life is great. We, our little crew of 5-7 survivors/ bandits in training, have a nice home server. One that is fairly empty during the week, but gets a little over 10 players on weekends which is great. We have been playing there for weeks now and are starting to get to know the regulars on there. And the other way around. Plus we have had hunches on who the server admin(s) may be and last night those hunches became fact. Last night (it was night on the server as well) my hubby, NavyCuda, was cruising around in one of our pick-ups looking for heli crashes since the server had just restarted several times the other day. He gets to Cherno, close to the gas station by the coast... when he sees our, I repeat OUR... ;) ... we found it, fixed it and had it for weeks now, UAZ driving away from said gas station. He jumps out, starts shooting at the driver who falls out of the vehicle dead. "Dimkon was killed" Passenger in the UAZ moves over to driver's side, attempts to run over hubby, boom boom. "Antweezy was killed" DMRs rock. So now we have one lone survivor with two vehicles and two, possibly mad, survivors spawning at the coast. Hubby hops into UAZ and hides it not too far away. Runs back to the dead guys, loots them, (M14s, NVs, Rangefinders, food, drink), hides them, takes pick-up and drives off. He hasn't driven 50m when he gets shot at by a pistol. Mind you at that time it was only him, the two dead guys and one other person on. I was in the process of logging in, so was a friend. I tell him to ignore the guy and just get out so we don't lose him or the vehicle(s). So he drives out of there, hides the pick-up, torques back to the UAZ (it's the better of the two in our opinion) and drives it up to our camp to pick me and a friend up to attempt a pick-up rescue mission. About 10 minutes pass between picking us up and getting back to the general area the pick-up was hidden in. During that time one person leaves the server and it's just us (3) and the two we just killed. Suddenly the server restarts while we are driving... Hi antweezy and dimkon! You guys were really mad last night weren't you? :D We come back in to find ourselves standing in the middle of the road outside Cherno. First thing we do is get to cover, second thing we do is try to remember where we last saved the UAZ, all while moving closer to the pick-up. Boom.... boom. "NavyCuda was killed" !@&%$! The two of us that are left decide to move in on the pick-up, hearts pounding, scared shitless. I try to take the "high road", circling around north, hoping there's enough trees to cover me, not having a single clue where these two guys were or are, nevermind where my friendly is now. I reach a big ass field with maybe one bush on it, that I have to cross to get to the pick-up. I run to the only bush in the field, crouch, check my position to get my bearing when I see myself getting hit... silently. I'm in shock, both in game and real life. Then I get killed by two consecutive shots that I still couldn't hear. There goes my 50 day old character. "SquishyBear was killed" Now it's just our friend left up there in the hills somewhere around Cherno and the pick-up. He gets shot at several times. Runs away, bleeding. Repositions himself, gets shot at again, missed. Runs around some more, trying to avoid certain death. We decide to abandon the rescue and get our UAZ back instead. So hubby makes it to UAZ which is in great condition at our last save but needs fuel. We can't find fuel, there's no jerry cans anywhere!!! 500 industrial sites and not one jerry can! !@&%$! "Lino155 was killed" They got him too. Now it's all about the UAZ and saving it and our other pick-up in camp. We all run towards the UAZ. Hubby and I decide to torque to camp due to lack of jerry cans when hubby falls off the docks into the water and treads water for a good 10 minutes, blindly trying to find some place to crawl out of the water while I'm running through the wilderness. Another friendly signs on... thank god! He's in camp with the other pick-up. We tell him to get that thing down here, one jerry can is plenty fine, just get down here! We manage to fill up the UAZ, take it back to camp, we got the pick-up too. Another friendly comes in. Suddenly we hear "There's a dirt bike here". So now we have an UAZ, a dirt bike, a pick-up and an ATV that has not been found that need better and safer parking opportunities... but we still have them! But we are missing a pick-up... ane we are pretty damn sure they have the choppah too. We've heard it fly around with just us and them on. We also believe they have at least one other friend that plays with them. We now know they are admins, we now know what not to do when they are on, we learned a lot last night. It's on! PS: Yes, it could be considered a dick move to restart the server to take the vehicle out of the equation, but we thought it was brilliant. No one combat disconnected, they just didn't want to face us in the vehicle. We didn't mind at all. PPS: We got visited by a friendly hacker last night too. We noticed this guy in our camp looking around, almost looked disoriented. Then someone actually pointed him out and we realized our positions were broadcasted all over the server (good thing it was only us on at that point). We shot at him but he didn't even care nor did we hurt him. He looked at our stuff then left. No harm done. Interesting experience.

    Prefix as role indicator.

Wouldn't [AssHole] be a step up from a murderer? The way I see it: Hero - Will help anyone and kill only bandits. Medic - Will actively look to help players suffering from status effects. Transporter - will drive around escorting people. Survivor - Just playing to survive. Rarely kills and only in self defence or for necessity. Bandit - someone who kills for gear rather than loot it. Murderer - somone who just kills with no intent on looting you since they already have everything they want. Asshole - He'll kill you then he'll go try and find you and kill you again when you respawn. When your offline he will go around trying to destroy tents and vehicles. Will pretty much do anything he can because griefing other players is what gives him pleasure.
  13. I have a server with HFB. They've teamed with Vilayer and are using Vilayer's hive and server files. It's been two days and my server refuses to spawn vehicles. I made a ticket about it... reply was "may take up to two days" to spawn vehicles, which is bullshit... I've run 3 different servers, with different mods and run a home server... none ever took more than 3-4 hours to spawn vehicles. I've tried contacting HFB again, to no avail. I just want some bloody vehicles. This is getting annoying as all hell. Is there anyway for me to fix it or do I have to wait for HFB to see my ticket, contact Vilayer, wait for Vilayer to see that, and make the corrections. I don't understand why they couldn't just go through with their own Fallujah they had in the works with Pwnz0r. Fucking annoying shit.

  15. just posted this on my blog www.thelonesurvivor.co Dean ''Rocket'' Hall talks standalone release and comments on DayZ look alikes. The alpha build of DayZ standalone will be released before the end of the year, probably in December. "And it's going to be cheap," creator Dean Hall said at the Eurogamer Expo today. "It has to be out before the end of the year," he stressed. "Not just because we've committed to it but in order to achieve what we have to do. It has to be. There's no 'we hope it is'; it has to be. And it's going to be cheap. We've decided that we don't need to sell a heap of units in order for us to be OK with where it's going. The more units we sell of it the more ambitious we get, because the project has the better resources. "I like to think we're taking cautious and sensible steps at the moment. I don't really like cautious and sensible. DayZ as a mod wasn't cautious and sensible. But our first few steps have to be that. And if we can achieve that in December, then in January and February we can start to do all the cool stuff, move to more ambitious features." Dean Hall wants disease to spread through faeces in DayZ standalone. Why the rush? Copycats. Dean Hall made a point of being "suitably vague to stop clones". That was a bullet point on one of his presentation slides. The most notable of these 'clones' has been War Z. An audience member asked what he thought about it. "Obviously you feel lots of things," Hall answered, "and a lot of your feelings aren't legitimate. I feel like eating ice-cream all the time; it doesn't mean that I'm going to eat ice-cream all the time. So maybe it's natural to get upset, jealous, scared - those kind of things. I definitely think all of those things. "Maybe they will make a better game - I don't know. Maybe what they're doing is not cool to me, but the way I look at it is what are my options? What could I do? I could stand up here and be very critical of anyone who does a clone copy of the game. What would that actually achieve other than making me look like a dick? It's not going to result in a better game. "Should I sue anyone who ever mentions something to do with zombie horror - will that make a better game? And the whole premise of of DayZ, and the whole premise of our development is we're going to make an awesome game. That's what we're selling. We're going to price it low and lots of people are going to play it. If we compromise on that, we're screwed. "I guess what I'm saying is what I feel isn't important," he added. "Maybe that's what leadership is: saying my feelings aren't important here - my feelings are often selfish. There are a lot of other really interesting, cool projects out there like The Dead Linger. How do you think they feel? They probably feel a bit s****y too. I have to be realistic about it and say the responsibility is on me to make a good game. And that's just life." Dean Hall may have been "vague" by his standards, but by my standards he revealed a tonne of new information about (standalone) DayZ. The top priority is tackling hackers. That's "the" issue, he stressed. Performance optimisation and bugs are other top priorities. Hall's even made friends with Valve and Notch and Eve Online maker CCP, who all want to see and help with early code of standalone DayZ before it goes live. One setback is the imprisoned ArmA 3 developers in Greece. They were the two people making ChernarusPlus for standalone DayZ. And they're friends of Hall's. "I just want to see them home," was his coy (and he apologised for being coy) answer. "Whatever I do to see them back is important." Hall's plans for standalone DayZ were vast. He mentioned diseases spreading through faeces and vomit; removing the user interface; using household weapons; allowing people to craft splints to help mend broken bones. Vehicles he said were a longer-term, "end-game" feature to implement. But to try and summarise all Hall said would be to do him a disservice. He's a fast and charismatic speaker - a natural, in other words. Luckily his presentation was videoed, and will be watchable, once it has been "processed", below. source: www.eurogamer.net -Atlas
  16. ^ His friend. I am also massively confused as to what happened, the admin was very kind/informative on teamspeak, then proceeded to call us liars in a very rood manner, with the use of foul language, before banning us a second time. This is absolutely unacceptable, if we have or are doing something wrong we should have at least been provided a reason when we went on teamspeak, not instantly banned, we showed respect, I didn't barge in raging and yelling at people or anything... We are NOT cheating, I don't even know how, we had just been on the server for HOURS with people spawning vehicles, mass killing people, abusing everything possible, and they finally leave without punishment and this happens to US. Really disappointing to see a great game infested with cheaters, even worse to see innocent people punished for it, please try and do better in the future. Thanks and good luck.

  18. Hoarding helicopters so only you and your friends can use them...how selfish and pathetic. Same goes with anyone or any group that keeps and stores more than 2 vehicles. Ruins the game, just so you can drive a different car each time u hop on. Grow the **** up, hoarding vehicles is what I'd expect a bunch of 12 year olds to do on a game like this. You little girls need to have so many vehicles > to get to and camp weapon spawn points > again and again > till you have best weapons > so the odds are in your favour. All that work just to try and give you a better chance against other players. Like i said - Pathetic.
  19. NordernNoob

Banned from US 3370 - Hosted by Katet Clan

Edit: Now server has been completely reset, all vehicles, tents and equipment are gone And Pl0xy is still banned for the same reason.
  20. accepted. btw its a public hive. now BTT ... why do some of the vehicles not spawn, eventhough the server loads them? is it because there is wirefencing in some places? for example theres wire on the mountain at cap golova, where the 2 ATVs spawn. or in cherno near a warehouse, where the Hilux spawns. (at least it might be the spot, why else would there be a big barbwire X in the open?)
  21. Personally, at this stage, I think the key is going to be with the "party" feature that Rocket has been contemplating. Really I don't see a way around it. Either your a lone wolf or your in a clan. If your in a clan your working together with your clanmates. If your a lone wolf your all alone. Ive really seen the PvP decrease in this game lately and its mostly the casuals who have stayed around playing. Its kind of getting lonely as a bandit to be completely honest. I hunt down groups of players and nobody wants to fight. They want to work together. If things keep going the way they are I may very well give up on being a bandit and go farm loot and repair vehicles and help people and do all those social things. Its just no fun getting into a firefight with people who are just trying to protect themselves and would rather be teaming up.
  22. The presentation was pretty interesting, new crossbow looks awesome. Can't wait to see the screenshots of Chernarus+. You can find the full article here but the video covers a lot more: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-09-27-dayz-standalone-release-this-year-says-dean-hall In Summary: - Securing the game from hacking/exploits is the number one priority with the game. - New crossbow looks bad-ass, Rocket hints at a chainsaw. - The game will draw on assets from all of BIS's games, talks about the helicopter mechanics from Take on Helicopters. - Distribution will be a lot more streamlined, so they can push out updates a lot quicker/easier. - The game is going to be a lot more optimized, especially the zombies themselves, which will presumably allow a lot more zombies at once. - Focus on authenticity, tension and freedom. Survival vs Wild. He wants to make the players body and nature become the antagonist. Things like broken ribs, different walking stances depending on where you have been injured, diseases (Malaria, Dysentery, Cholera) - Locations with more players will have more chance of spreading disease. - New medical system. - Zombies entirely redeveloped, both graphically, in terms of animations and AI. - Weapons will have durability, they can jam, NV Goggles etc will need batteries, if you get shot in the head, the night vision goggles might get damaged for example. - UI removed, talks about a vomiting animation and other cues to show you are sick. - Chernarus+ is done, new towns, facilities, water fountains balanced, many more fully enterable buildings, eventually all will be enterable. - Some images and/or video of Chernarus+ will be up on the blog shortly. - New Crossbow, new melee items (some may come to the mod) also talks about a bow. - More parts to vehicles, different parts for different effects, for example a battlebus created by adding certain parts to a normal bus. - Timetable (Stable build out this year, November/December for a very low price point, January/February will see a lot of regular new content being pushed out. - Working with community/private hives to try out new ideas in the mod.
  23. the white car looks like a skoda or lada, but its white and brandnew looking, whereas the skoda on the wiki-page for instance is blue and pretty rusty. I was looking if a hacker spawned the heli in the ocean, because there was a douchbag hacker on my server. furthermore WE CHECKED EVERY spawn location for UAZ and Hilux. And I noticed that on some spawnlocations theres wirefencing. So i wanted to see if there are any vehicles at all besides the ones we found when rented the server. All vehicles we found where basically all in one spot at Kamenka.

logs show vehicles but without position

And that was a borderline accusation of admin cheating. I love how people just jump in with bullshit like you just posted without knowing all the facts. There's a big difference between checking the logs to find a vehicle location to go get it yourself, and checking as an admin to make sure everything is spawning correctly for your players. I check my logs for vehicles all the time to make sure some asshat hasn't teleported boats to airfields or cars and helicopter to the ocean where my players can't use them.
