It doesn't rob too much immersion. You still have to use a compass a/o landmarks to navigate. It's not like it puts a waypoint on your HUD. It's your call, but wolves are easier to find than guns in this game and izurvive shows you where to find both. Cheers

I've fallen into a predictable cycle that is starting to get stale. Spawn at coast. Loot for several hours while being super cautious. Convince myself I can deal with the KoS crowd at mil bases/big cities. Give someone the benefit of doubt and hesitate to KoS. Spawn at coast. Repeat. It's either get geared and interact with players, or get geared and build a base. No matter which you choose, you'll probably lose all your invested time and have to do it all again. And again. And again. It's not a gratifying experience (to me at least) to spend 4 hours looting to die in a 4 second gunfight and that's what ends up in my head when I'm lining up my shot. I don't want to rob you of your time. Bases are kind of the same boat. Huge amount of effort for a screenshot is pretty much all they're good for. I was logging off with a barrel in my hands for a while, but lost it cause the server crashed while I was online. Now I don't even bother with that. I'd rather lose loot to players than persistence. To sum it all up. I'm starting to feel like the only endgame in Dayz is to lose... And that is going to get boring quick.

Turn up the logout/login timer. Add a player x logged on/off script so everyone can see the name of someone who only spends 2 minutes on the server. Sever hoppers are the same people who KoS every time because they don't put any value on the loot it should take time for them to get. No time invested means no sense of risk. Why not PvP every person you see if you can be right back fully geared in an hour. When the game is too easy it turns from a survival game into a battleground, and personally that's not what I want from Dayz.

Your theory has been tested and found to be flawed. Do not do this. Also those puppies have an AoE of 5 or 6 metres and don't give a flip about walls. I don't think they can be shot/disarmed either. So if you spot it and are trapped you can either server hop or martyr yourself to the coast. 1/1000 chance of spotting it and having to face that crushing moral dilemma thankfully.

I've been carrying this thing around but it's never served any purpose but taking up room and a 9volt. Another question about it, If I'm sneaking through a city with it on and someone starts squawking will the noise attract zombies or alert other players? I seem to always forget about that til I'm sneaking by 4 zombies in front of mili checkpoint. Same feeling as forgetting if you shut the stove off.

Let me do the gender and face. You keep starting gear and location and we call it even. It would save me on the ritual suicide and you on the server load of spawning in 10 freshies til my narcissism is sated. Good deal Bohemia?

I've just gotten into the habit of trying to hold my barrel when I log out. I doubt anyone has made it to a legit despawn, which I think takes around a week of leaving it untouched, because servers crash all the time which clears anything left by players.

Cue Admiral Ackbar "It's a trap!". I'm not posting my hangouts because on console Chenarussian lives don't matter. But I guess for the sake of conversation I'll pick Novaya Petrovka because if I'm there it means I just left NWAF with a bursting pack full of fantastic goodies. Oh and I'll be at the limits of my stamina and unable to sprint. Also wearing bright orange and yellow whilst holding a road flare.

I dream of a place where freshies can go to get a leg up in a tough world. A place to get a drink and a bandage while looking at a friendly face. A fantasy land where two wanderers could meet in peace and swap stories or precious gear. A place where a builders work will be appreciated and protected. Somewhere a driver can pull over park refuel/maintain then pick up a fare in safety. A place where guns stay on the shoulder and the fires are always lit. I'm dreaming of a community that works together to make a better apocalypse. I'd be interested in working together with a group of people to carve out such a sliver of paradise. It won't be simple or easy to face the trials of trolls, bandits and devs. There is interestingly no reason nor reward.... Or any system in place at all to try to bring people together peacefully so the challenges will be severe. Who among you will answer the call to cut out a piece of a specific server to plant our flag then stand to defend it in an act of community not likely ever seen on console? I am joking of course. The poor fools that tried to organize something like this would be literally shaving years off of their lives due to stress from mountains of drama. First time poster here. Love this game despite its flaws. I can't put it down. Add g.t. sPeaRr for a friendly player that won't shoot you in the back.... On purpose.
