  1. It really depends on what type of player you are and what your goals for a session may be.

Most of the time I’d rather play solo as you’re far easier to remain unnoticed. While 99% of the player base may kos, I enjoy the challenge of attempting to be friendly with others. As you may expect, it tends not to go too well the majority of the time, however there are those slim occasions where you’ll be pleasantly surprised. On the other hand, when they become hostile it’s far more fun imo to be reactive in that situation. That happened to me the last session I had.

Really it’s a matter of setting goals or doing some RP is always fun too.

  2. Greetings Bohemian Survivors,

I come today out from the bush to humbly request that my favorite past time, hunting, be restored to its former glory.

I’m not sure what’s in the plants on Chenarus and Livonia, though the game animals seem to not be phased by 7.62 rounds to vital organs. I’m speaking merely of deer and live stock, never mind the bigger game.

Living out in the bush and surviving off the land is what made being within DayZ feel great to me and many other hunters out there.

Please reconsider this immersion breaking decision.

                                             Respectfully,

                                            A Concerned Hunter

Do you just near to be in their vicinity, or do you have to actually interact with each one?

Repair gets tedious once shoes become damaged and the cycle begins between being worn, and once again damaged. The rate should be adjusted. Even if you are trail blazing, boots, especially military, should wear after 20 to 30 k. Which still isn't much. Basically, every item of footwear is like a cheap pair of sneakers, or joggers, for those in the UK.

I'd really like to see the developers add a condition between pristine and worn. For example, fair. This would nicely open avenues for expanded item use and value. The leather repair kit could bring shoes to fair, but duct tape only to worn. Same with the gun cleaning kit.

Pristine 5k / Fair 5k / Worn 4k / Damaged 2k / Badly Damaged 1k. This could be a Hiking boot. The worse your item is damaged, the greater the repair cost for the next tier. If damaged, shoes could slow you down slightly.

At some point, you should no longer have the option to repair your shoes, because the sole will have worn away.

    You saw it here first! Send me a Jackson, and I won't say a word, BI (;

Big thanks for decreasing item size for pistols and gloves!

That would work great, maybe even call it “used”, though “fair” works as well.

I feel like the devs want the degradation to remain to keep this level of challenge, even though it becomes more of a chore, rather than a realistic mechanic to keep an eye on.

    As with all things, balance.

They fixed the glitch but didn't balance the game.

Run 10m? Shoes damaged. Get hit once? Clothing damaged. Build a wall? Hatched damaged. Shoot your suppressed pistol once? Suppressor ruined.

The duct tape glitch at least made it somewhat bareable.

I agree, it would be better if BI added a handful or so more uses to the duct tape, and some other items, to help counteract clothes and tools degrading so quickly. At the very least increase the distance allowed before each phase of degradation to the shoes.

    5000 pointless 10 man servers

Everyones server is behind a password and has a horrific long discord approval process and admins routinely  get upset and boot everyone out to reapply again.then they get upset why their 60 or 100 slot has 3 people in it.

Snowflake servers with KOS only at airfeild and map wide safe zones. No tension.( by all means have one town as safe zone but the map should be wild and dangerous)

Snowflake servers with 5 minute nights-grow a pair. Long nights is part of the game.

Snowflake servers where you aren't allowed raid bases

Most server owners bring it on themselves

Sounds like public servers are what you’re looking for.

The whole point of private servers is to have something else besides the constant PUBG mentality plauging this game on official. The RP element is a large driver for servers with those types of rules. It’s about that one thing that sets DayZ apart from all the others...interactions..

Are you referring to actual campfires that have been crafted or are you talking about the remaining ash piles from players who are suiciding using rags on the ground and the flare - there is a difference between the two and why the persistence is different - you’re not finding people crafting campfires on the coast in the middle of the main road.

Yeah, this is likely what’s happening.

I wish my stone camp fires would persist in the private RP server I’m in. They’re gone after every server reset.

  8. They’re not zombies, they’re infected people who never actually died.

Also, there could be the possibility that the infection could boost their endurance while deteriorating other cells. Who knows..

Personally, I’d rather they be fast rather than the typical slow moving ones.

  9. Time certainly does fly. Happy one year anniversary on Xbox DayZ!

Yeah, it's been a wild year.

But as with any relationship, the crazy unpredictable ones are always the most fun.

We've had our ups and downs, most memorable for me was the broken day/night where it was stuck on night... and the great rainstorm that just kept going and going and going... lol

    But I'm still here!

Let's hope for better server controls, quality of life fixes, desync getting sorted, smoother inventory management and a brighter 2020 in Chernarus!

Haha, the forty nights of rain was something else..

I’m with you in hoping for much better optimization’s moving forward, maybe finally tossing in fishing as well as bow and arrows.

This game has ruined nearly every other game for me, and I’m ok with that. Keep up the good work Bohemia!

It literally takes two hours to get fully military geard. Why would people need to dupe? So dumb

I’ve mentioned before it’s this instant gratification culture we live in today, unfortunately.

So many with that mindset miss the point of this game entirely. Part of the fun is the journey and interactions one may have going about gathering up the gear the way it’s intended.

Lucky most of those types of people have a shorter attention span, and will hopefully move along sooner than later..

Yep, had some random dude, streaming on TWITCH from my private server. like WTF!

Assuming he’s not showing the password input, what’s wrong with streaming on private server?

Having a solid RP community would make for some great footage.

  12. Most of the private servers I’m in use their own approved gamer tag list in Discord, as well as a no alt accounts rule.

Things seem to work well that way. Being able to track other players in the server is a necessity, I couldn’t  imagine not keeping track of who’s allowed in and having who knows how many alt accounts associated..

  13. I’ve been loving the update so far. Private servers are an absolute blast, especially the RP ones.

I was so thrilled to see that hit detection on infected is much better than 1.0. Also the inverted weapon wheel has been fixed, thank you! The sound effects are much better and more accurate which makes for a more immersive experience.

All in all great work BI!
