Hi guys its still not working. could it be something to do with my .cfg file. I did change some of these before i launched the game thinking they were the same as before. can anyone post a default copy of the .cfg file for me. Thanks

Hi All I recently restored my PC back to factory settings due to a system problem. After this i reinstalled Steam and then DayZ. Here is my question After reinstalling DayZ and loading up for the first time, my character on the main menu screen is no longer there. All i get is what looks like part of the clouds flickering between a white and blue background. I used to be able to see my full character before reinstall but now nothing. I miss not being able to rotate my guy on the main menu screen etc. Does anyone have any ideas why this has happened? All help is really appreciated. Thanks

This happened to me also but i have some advice for a different scenario. I fell off a ledge and broke my legs and could only crawl. I dumped all my gear then climbed a higher ladder. Jumped off at the top to kill myself and when i respawned i went back to the place i dumped my gear and was able to pick it up again. Obviously this only works if you don't die but still might be useful for all you leg breakers out there.

This is probably a silly question but i am new to multiplayer online games where you need to communicate with other players. My question is this. When i want to speak to another player, is it just a simple case of making sure my headset is plugged in to my PC and that i hit the speak key (Caps Lock on my key assignments) when another player is near. I have seen some posts that talk about teamspeak etc but rather than going down this road i was hoping there was an easier way to go than that. My only other experience with headset chat was on CS Source but you could set that up on the options menu within the game. Sorry again for what is probably a silly question but i want to take my gaming in dayz to the next level and play/communicate with other players. Thanks
