    Please, say NO to helicopters.

I don't want helicopters in-game as long as the system is not rewamped so that you cannot look through forests and bushes when flying over them. Nothing is more frustrating than hiding a tent (in the mod) as good as you can, just to have it recognized within 2-3 hours by the always on duty helicopter bird eye patrol. All that because of fooliage not rendering for them...

Things i found within 1 hour lol

The long-range scope is afaik the only item in DayZ SA that I haven't found yet. I am not really actively searching for one, but I never seen it ingame...

Dayz - In real life (how would you act)

I would probably sprint fists raised through Electro, singing "Always look on the bright side" loud to check if there are any snipers active and if rubber-banding is for real.

Regular vs Hardcore: Why do you play?

I play both but prefer 1st person in general. I am using TrackIR and it's really fun in Arma/DayZ. I also prefer the general immersion with 1st person only in the sense of having equal playing fields. Many times I have died on 3pp servers because some sniper is laying on the rooftop of the fire station looking 360 degrees without giving his position away. This is not possible in 1st person only. The only annoying thing in 1st person is that I somehow feel that I am viewing a floating camera (headblob off, as I feel dizzy with it on). I don't know why but only Arma/DayZ cause this, no other FPS. I also play on 3pp servers regularly because I love seeing the different clothes on my avatar but generally, on 3pp servers, I experience 2 different negatives. 1st, too often getting shot/shooting others because I could watch above the wall/around a corner and only expose myself the moment the opponent looked the other way. And 2nd every time a buddy or me is getting shot, the excuse: "He must've exploited watching around the corner" comes up. As suggested before, only render the stuff that would be in your real field of view would be a great improvement to 3pp servers. Nevertheless, I play both modes equally.

Why co-operate if you're gonna get shot anyways?

The problem is on both sides. Ass-hat-wanna-be-bandit that either KOS's or if he manages to hold one up, shoots him anyways just to be safe. Or the guy that gets held up and decides to take the chances to turn around and shoot because he considers himself dead anyway because of the bandit. When I play banditry in a group, my mates and me usually try to hold up people with good gear and steal some of it to distribute it to people that have no gear at all, or are very weak. Only requirement to survive is: follow our orders and don't act stupid. We always show 3 out of 4 players in our group so that the victim(s) know(s) he is outnumbered. You wouldn't believe how many players with a Mosin/SKS on Balota airfield think they stand a chance making a 180 degree turn and shoot 3 guys aiming at him. The smarter players survive. Those are usually the ones that comply to what is requested and often, we even let them keep their weapon including ammo. (Which we take away but drop 200m away so that it can be picked up again). Now when I am playing alone and try to hold up someone, odds that you are dead are increasing because obviously, a lone-wolf is more trigger-happy if you act stupid. However, it doesn't mean you are dead. Personally, I have been held up multiple times by groups as well and Coastal-bandits are the ones that let you spawn, hold you up for some minutes, handcuff you (or not) and then have some fun with you. You are dead though, cause they shoot you. Those are just weak players. I don't stop for them anymore. Die-respawn is quicker than wasting 5 mins with them. However, getting held up anywhere away from the coast and especially outside of Electro, can be super-fun. And just don't act stupid. Stupidity gets you killed.
  6. Sensemann

Would you approach me or KOS?

I'd give you my revolver saying: "Here cowboy, for immersion's sake".

    Hunting Down Coastal Bandits

I would've given you beans if you did this on a First-person-only server. Using 3rd person to look over edges in order to avoid potential line of fire in your advance makes it only half as cool. Still cool though. No offense.
  8. I like your post. Especially under consideration of what you wrote under your avatar, under "location". Way to lure in players to go to NWAF to check out if what you are saying is true. I figured it all by myself.
  9. Reads great except one thing: Dead character cleanup performed at 10 minutes past death I don't think this is the right way to go. Unless I misunderstand, I think dead bodies should stay. They are a great way of causing fear to players. Going into Electro, seeing 5 dead bodies near the supermarket and players will be cautious. Also, sometimes, if you kill somebody, you do not loot him immediately, but might take longer than 10 minutes until you approach that body. If it is possible, I'd prefer that the devs change this in such a way that you cannot loot your own dead bodies after respawning, in order to avoid players respawning and simply running back to where they died. Other players, especially newspawns should get the benefit of looting previously killed players.

    Non kos servers?

The police states that you have to stop at a red light. However, I still cross the road by red when the officers ain't watching.

    CARS SUGGESTION (REALISTIC AND POSSIBLE)

Just please no Hummer, like in ever! That thing is an immersion killer in DayZ like no other vehicle.

Where is the best place to pk people

Hardcore bandits you say? What did you rob so far if you need to ask where the prey is? Empty buildings?
  13. Don't get attached to your gear, that's most important. What I usually do is to simply switch targets. For example, if I got killed while having all kinds of camo clothing, Mosin, military vest and helmet, then my next goals are: Find a mosin, get a blue backpack with blue jeans etc. I might still end up finding camo clothing etc. and of course, will use those, but the idea is: set your goals lower than the avatar that just got killed. In that sense, you are easier to be happy about your current game and get constant postive feedback if you find sth better than initially set as a goal.

    Combat Loggers and Ghost Warriors

I am impressed and will avoid the hill of Electro because of the potential of meeting the self-proclaimed "Master at Dayz that will never combat log". All you will ever hear of me is my shouting for "Mommy" when running zig-zag in a big circle around said hill.
  15. Sure, that could be an option. With an even further penality of increasing water consumption while wearing the ghillie. I am not against ghillie's at all, but just want to make it more difficult for players to get one as it is dumb if everybody has one because every 10th home on the map has one in the wardrobe.
  16. Craftable with the need of approx. 5 different items to produce it. It should also take some time to produce it. Not an animation, but sth like you hold the stuff in your hands and have to move a needle 500 times into the suit in the inventory screen. Penalties for wearing a ghillie suit: 1. You cannot carry a backpack while wearing the ghillie, so you can only stuff your trousers and probably vest with stuff to go "on a sniping mission". 2. Your water consumption should dramatically increase when moving in a ghillie suit, especially when sprinting, as in: if a liter of water allows you to sprint for 10 minutes with normal clothes, wearing a ghillie would allow you to sprint only 3 minutes in a ghillie. There should be disadvantages and advantages to every cloth item as in a weight system. The ghillie suit should be the most punishable one.

Fix (not remove) Third Person Perspective

That would be amazing! In the mod, I often played in 3rd person when I was alone and running over big fields, just to see my avatar. Inside cities I usually played 1st person because whenever being forced into a combat situation, I found the switch to aiming in first person coming from a 3rd person view to be awful. It also made me feel more familiar with other 1st person shooters. However, I got killed that way waaaaaaay too often because other people were using 3rd person to look around corners and so, knowing my path or the moment I come into sight. In DayZ SA, I play on 1st person servers only, because it simply is better. However, I understand that many players (me included actually), like to see their avatar in 3rd person, for example to see how their current clothes look and how camo bends into the environment. If it is possible for the developers to allow 3rd person view without showing loot and players out of line of sight, then I would open a bottle of champagne...

Server hopping ideas and more... *here* (dayZ-SA)

I only comment on your server hopping idea. I disagree on the way of locking players on servers. I often log into a server with a population between 15-25 players. After some time, I realize, that the server-jumper train has left and that it's only me with 1 other player on the server. I don't want to be logged to that server (and yes, I understand that in your scenario, server jumpers would be logged as well to 1 server). BUT, I don't want to be bound to a single server. If I join another server with friends, I still want to be with my character and not a new one, or Sensemann #5 on that server. What I'd prefer is that upon reconnecting to another server, you have to wait 5 minutes & you spawn within a radius of 200meters of your previous location. That would stop those dichkeads trying to spawn right behind you after they located your position after some server switches. Lock my character to one single server and don't allow me to switch server with my character and I am done with the game immediately. I play with friends from different continents and timezones and this would simply destroy my experience.

    Rolling Update Rev. 0.30.113953

Most important fix for me is rubberbanding as well. Another issue I have (and I assume rubberbanding plays a role in it) is that sometimes I die without apparent reason. Last night I played with friends and suddenly I died while standing in a room with my buddies. Didn't hear a shot, neither did them. Thought I got sniped. Half an hour later, I am back in the same room with my friends and we move into a hallway without windows and my buddies covering the stairs. Then I die again without bleeding before or glitching out of the building. Will check later again if it still happens...

    Question before buying DayZ

Yes, around 15 HKG servers. See you there.

New and my mouse has issues?

http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/155561-mouse-cursor-visual-stuck-but-actually-moves/ I haven't heard a story yet about dying by using the search function. How come people avoid it more than cancer?

What guns do you want to see?

For me it's the DMR. Not that I am preferring sniping, but I just love that gun.
  23. Copying my own post from another topic: This is usually a problem when your monitor allows you eg. 1920x1080 resolution, but you chose to use higher/lower resolution for the game. Set the ingame resolution as your desktop resolution. For Windows 7, there is another thing that might fix the mouse problem. If you let your desktop icons being displayed as very large/large, this causes the mouse cursor being weird ingame. Set the symbols as 'normal'. I am confident this solves the problem (as odd as this sounds), as I had the same issues with invisible/weird responding cursors in Men of War Assault Squad, Max Payne 3, Red Orchestra 2 and Sleeping Dogs. Try it via: rightclick on desktop>display> (I am not on a WIN 7 PC right now, but the path is sth like that). PS: If a mod wants to try this solution, confirm it and post it somewhere else, please do so. I am lacking time today. PPS: I see your friend has WIN 8, I never tried that, but I am confident it has to do with using large desktop symbols rather than normal sized ones. As odd as it sounds...

CPU (@overclocked?): i5-4670K (stock clock rate) GPU (@overclocked?): MSI 760 TwinFrzr (stock clock rate) Memory/RAM: 8 GB Kingstom HDD/SSD(only post the drive DayZ is running on): Samsung Harddrive, no SSD, forgot which type Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 Graphics Settings: Everything maxed except Bloom & Blur off FPS in cities: 40-50 FPS in wilderness: 60 (max fps my 50' TV is set to (Average FPS:) ~50fps DayZ Build (DayZ Standalone only): latest build
  25. Sensemann

    Your FPS ?

Interesting. My system: i5-4760K, MSI GTX760 TwinFrzr, 8 GB Ram Inside cities: 40-50 fps (incl. Cherno), out of cities: 60 fps (max since my TV refresh rate is 60) Everything MAXED OUT graphic wise, except motion blur and bloom, which I can't stand at all. ADDITION: Note that in the Arma series, it is often recommended to up your graphic settings since running stuff on low will usually use resources from your CPU, while running stuff on high/very high will use your GPU power. Same thing with Arma 3 and iirc with Arma 2, so DayZ shouldn't be an exception. I only upped all my graphics before joining a game since I thought I want to downscale if performance is bad. Well, no need...
