Armedfiremonkey 2 Posted October 11, 2012 My idea was that there could be some sort of refueling truck like this one (http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/File:Arma2_oa_v3s_fuel.jpg) or this one (http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/File:Arma2_oa_ural_fuel.jpg). It would help to fill both helicopters and vehicles. My idea is that you can only find it at an airfield or military base. This is just an idea, please post your ideas or tell me if you think this is good or not.

Welch (DayZ) 756 Posted October 11, 2012 It'd be too easy. Unless you had to manually fill the truck before driving it around.I'd also like a Supply Truck, which only had the two front seats but had lots of room for gear, it'd just take hella fuel and was slow. kingochaos 131 Posted October 11, 2012 (edited) Yea, they got the ural fuel in takistan/panthera/fallujah and its great... if yah can ever find it.. But totally agree, the fueling in vanilla dayz is just tedious, end o story. If they had generators in game so yah can get the fuel pumps working, it wouldnt be so bad/ or a hose so yah can set up as syphon.. but with having to run back and fourth for half a friggin hour to fuel a chopper is just stupid >:( (i would use a bloody hose and syphon outta those tanks IRL, rather than ferry jerries, because im not retarded ;) ) Edited October 11, 2012 by KingOchaos
nabehobby 13 Posted October 11, 2012 yeah okay.when dayz finally lets you create a base and a garage, you can transport fuel with a truck ;)
indominator 95 Posted October 12, 2012 if it works like the fuel tanks now ok, and must be rare, even big fuel trucks are not that common in a rural country like chernarus
nabehobby 13 Posted October 12, 2012 i'd actually like to see trucks in general. so then you can transport people, supplies and food.

While we're at it we can spawn on the beach with as50 and NVG because finding gear is just "tedious".
DemonGroover 8836 Posted October 12, 2012 You think we should have access to more fuel??Now we have all seen Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior) - and if you haven't, shame on you.In these Post Apocalyptic scenarios fuel is like gold, the most valuable commodity apart from food and water. Why is it like gold - because it is so rare. But what do we have in DayZ - an unlimited supply of fuel, enough to fuel cars, helicopters and the like, forever. Now i am not too sure how long after the zombie outbreak DayZ is set but surely a fuel crisis of some sort would hit?My suggestion - less fuel available not more. We wouldn't let fuel regenerate, because it would be terribly unrealistic, Finding gear is not tedious, its what makes these kinda games... IRL rural fuels, are mostly gravity fed.. hand fuel pumps are not rare, any old diaphragm pump will pump fuel. Hell all you need is a hose, and gravity will move fuel (siphon) So this stuff isnt unrealistic.. do you understand the difference? Originally back in the 1.5 era dayz before rocket was called away for standalone, he was talking of bringing in generators to run fuel stations and the like. You think we should have access to more fuel??Now we have all seen Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior) - and if you haven't, shame on you.In these Post Apocalyptic scenarios fuel is like gold, the most valuable commodity apart from food and water. I like this actually, yea, make it a resource to be seized control of in a server.. limit its availability. This could be cool.
Armedfiremonkey 2 Posted October 14, 2012 Thanks for all of the feedback. No the fuel would not regenerate, that would be so stupid it's not even funny. I really do like the idea of making fuel more rare because going to a fuel tank at a gas station and having infinite fuel is unrealistic. I think it should be like the Ural where only 1 would spawn on the map and it could spawn only at the NW or SE airfield. Also, I think there should be a fuel hose that you hook up to the fuel truck to pump gas into a vehicle. Imagine this: you have a UAZ and a fuel truck, you are driving in the UAZ and your buddy is driving the fuel truck, the UAZ is starting to run out of gas and there are no gas station/Fuel Tanks in sight, You don't want to leave the UAZ so you and your buddy jump out of the vehicles and hook the hose up to the UAZ and start pumping Fuel. Just a simple scenario to show the use of a fuel truck. Like indominator said they should be really rare. Thanks again for all the feedback.
