Day Z Appreciation Thread

Recommended Posts

So it seems that a lot of threads are popping up to whine about the game and shame Rocket. That's great and all, but if you hate something, why bother doing it (or in this case, playing)? I think Day Z is great, Rocket and his team have done a fabulous job and have done something even more impressive. They are regularly updating and communicating with us. I have never found a mod where the dev team is this active and friendly. So, kudos to you devs, you guys are great!

I hope that you guys enjoy what you do and continue to make this mod even more amazing. Just know that for every whiner, there are tons more people too busy playing your game to find reason to complain.

:D

You have to realise that people will complaina lot more about the stuff they dislike than the stuff they like. People are likely to talk about a bad experience nearly twice as much as a good experience - that goes fr everything: games, movies, food, general experiences, etc

So people (very vocal internet communities mind you) complaining about stuff might seem like a lot, but consider they are not talking about all the stuff they actually like about the mod. As you say if they don't like it why play it? They're playing it so they obviously like something (likely all the stuff they're not complaining about).

And even then, when you complain about something you like it is because you feel it can be better and this "complaining" is merely critical feedback which a lot of people like to see as nothing more than complaining (and sometimes people just poorly express constructive criticism).

True, true... I suppose what I was getting at here is that I'm seeing a lot of this: "F*ck you Rocket, you are ruining the game" or "So-and-so isn't working/ingame, fix it Rocket, kthnx bye."

Even if it's an internet community, politeness and just being good to one another goes a long way. Unfortunately, it IS the internet, so that tends to mean nothing. Which is why we have bandits :P

dayz is a great mod, however if he doesnt listen to our critisism then the game wont really be that good because it will be a game in his vision as opposed to everyones collective going towards a great gaming experience.

this is like the 200th "appreciation" thread.

I mean great mod and all but its not like we would be playing if it was crap.

it shows how good we think it is if we continue playing despite near game breaking bugs that occur in alpha.

just people playing should be enough to let the devs know we love the game.

complaining is simply our way of letting the devs know we noticed an issue we would like fixed.

the more complaining about a particular issue the more of an issue it is.

appreciation thread? PFFT

play the damn game and quit kissing buttocks. :P

Just wanted to say thank you for devoting so much of your valuable time to create such a wonderful mod. I cant wait to see what is in store for us players (alpha testers) in the future. Keep up the good work.

I have enjoyed DayZ more than any game purchase I've made in the past 10 years.

I can totally agree. I think that this mod is a great paradigm shift in the gaming industry and we will be seeing some great innovations because of it for years to come.

I know it has been said before. But with the number of complaints and personal attacks I see on these forums, among other places, it hasn't been said enough.

Thank you for creating this awesome experiment, for protecting its integrity, and for having a sense of humor regarding all the hackers, trolls, and flamers.

Thank you for investing your time and effort, without asking for a dime. Whether or not Bohemia Interactive gives you a raise or bonus, (or gold statue in their lobby), you haven't asked for anything, and that's what matters.

Thanks. That is all.

Show some respect for a guy whos Project you like. Dont fear the children hate when showing some love, some true feelings. Dont be afraid. Be brave! Trust your feelings! thats what the difference between a man and a boy. ProTip: Women love men not boys!

these "brown nosers" comments doesnt make you look cool but weak and lonely.. not sure about your feelings. Not having get enough love... So much hate with these cool kids nowadays..

Merged couple thank you / appreciation threads. It's nice to appreciate, but creating several thank you threads in same day is too much :) Please use this existing ones to thank rocket and the DayZ dev team.

Gotta join the love-in here. Cheers Rocket etc for rekindling my love for the videogame after a year or so in the wilderness of bitter disappointments.

I've said it elsewhere, but for me DayZ is to the videogame industry what the Sex Pistols were to the tired, safe and boring music scene of the 1970s. And yeah, I'm old enough to remember that too.

Honestly. Blow each other in a single thread.

Also it's not a fuckin' game it's a Mod. There's a difference.

Put me down for a +1

I have my gripes about the mod, but complaining about something that clearly states its in alpha, or for something you paid nothing for, is pretty low. (Although some of us, like me, bought Amra2 and OA just for this mod)

Im having a great time, and apart from the grammar Nazis, and the posters that are constantly negative, this is a really cool community. I dont think i've ever wanted to be part of a forum/community as much as i have this one.

Thank you to Rocket and your heavily under compensated staff!

We do really appreciate your work!
