nitrius 0 Posted June 14, 2012 So am wondering, is it based on where the server is(IP)? Or does it goes after the clock on the server? So one could manipulate it? Or something else?Anyway, is it possible to manipulate somehow?
adimch 1 Posted June 15, 2012 EDITED:Server clock.. I've seen a good hours difference between individual players' watches on some servers. It can be set to the server owners preference, though. Some servers have +4 GMT to stagger the day/night cycle.
Kophka 109 Posted June 15, 2012 I've been on about 10 servers today that claim (in their text line) to be GMT+5, GMT-7, GMT-5, and they are all wrong. I don't think it's all working like it's supposed to, or people just aren't setting it anymore.

I don't think it's all working like it's supposed to, or people just aren't setting it anymore.[/quote']The large desync issues caused by the last version of hive (DayZ 1.7.0) causes the time to get further and further out of sync from real time - also I think I saw there's a bug in the time given to JIP clients again the reason why your time may differ from the server's advertised timezone..These are issues that I hope will get fixed with 1.7.1. apparent improvement of Hive- Reduction/elimination of the new server lag. This is caused by the ArmA2 server expecting immediate response from the central server. Vehicles are the main cause of this, as whenever they are damaged everything stops while the server ensures this is recorded in the database.
