mythbuster: heli crash pilots and NVG

I always shoot them, but I feel like I'm wasting ammo because 9 out of ten times they'll

just have tin cans, and the tenth time just some AK or DMR ammo.

Has anyone actually ever got NVG from a pilot, or is it a myth?

DayZ wiki says they only spawn at the actual crash site and at the barracks...so I guess they don't!!! I always do too! Dammit!

I have found plenty of DMR's and Fals. Tons of ammo and a few odds and ends. But never NVG's. Unfortunatly, every server I have been on has tents full of gear, and I am not talking about personal camp grounds, but fill up stations that no one has saved into oblivion. Going to make it a personal quest to empty these tents, then save them empty. Its like a military walmart on every server. "crosses fingers in hopes for standalone to be hack and dup free"......... :(

Never found anything decent on military zeds or heli zeds. Killed absolute fucktons of them. Only ever found one legit set of NVG's at the top barracks at nw field.

I have received a pair of NVGs from a pilot.

I already had a pair so I just threw them in my bag.

It is possible, but since so few pilots spawn (less than the number of loot spots around the chopper) it feels rarer.

Never even heard of this "myth" but the heli spawns almost always give me an FAL with a mag.
