The forest comes alive...

Recommended Posts

In the depths of the northern woods among the tall trees, in the dead of night:

A branch cracks, you spin around. A deer freezes in your flashlight. You already ate, so you decide to let it go.

Some time later, you hear the "hooo" "hoooo" of an owl. You look up to see his two yellow eyes peering down at you.

A short time later, a frantic fluttering of wings as bats blindly bounce through the trees.

You stumble across a cave, with a menacingly wide entrance and cavernous depth.

Your flashlight reveals a tumbling cavern, an open vein diving down deep into the earth. You decide to explore, maybe you could rest inside? Not a few minutes after entering, you hear heavy breathing. You slowly shine your light down the cavern in front of you. Filling what seems to be your whole field of vision is a massive brown bear.

You slowly back away, the bear matches your steps. When you reach near enough to the entrance, you slowly turn around and then break into a full sprint for what seems like 10 minutes. You turn around; he didn't follow you.

You stop to catch your breath, the adrenaline still coursing through your system.

Branches crack behind you. You spin around.

Your flashlight is starting to fail. Your heart starts to pound, your throat runs dry.

You hear more branches cracking in front of you, then to your side.

They're all around you? Is it the dead? A group of bandits?

You hear the low growl of a northern wolf. It's the last thing you hear. In seconds the pack is on you.

You came into the woods to escape the dead, only to fall victim to the living.

This would definitely add more horror to the game, OP sounds like a scary poem...

I would love some of the ambient noise take out, and actuallt replace them with real noises, that chain link fence noise , play that when some one vaults a fence not when your in the middle of a forrest.

or the treebrach snap play that when some one is crouch running or running through the forest, not when your the only one for 1000 meters and your prone under a log.

the ambient noises are cool but they really dont mean anything lets make them mean something so each noise has a source.

I love that. I't adds a more realistic atmosphere to the game.

Caves sound really nice, but I think it's nearly impossible to add in the mod. I hope they put some in the SA-version of Chernarus.

Maybe the cave shouldn't be in the textures of map.. but it could be like an object... made of rock... Object can be added to map without any editing map... ;) which is good...

I agree with the ambient effects and sounds... given that they do come from an actual source, like Taiphoz said. A little atmospheric ambiance wouldn't hurt, though. Yeah they will definitely add tension and suspense. The random chain link fence sounds MUST GO.

Slightly dissapointed...ents were in my mind

Ohh yeah, wovles and predators? Bring it on. I will lead a train of wolves into a train of zeds and we can take bets. Maybe get a thunderdome involved and we can open cage fighting and open it with, "Welcome, welcome to the Arena!" Bets will be taken and currency lost. Then we can start lending to the addicts and break their legs at Kamenka when they don't pay...
