Zombie idea.

i have just read charlie higsons "the enemy" and the type of infected/zombies in it are superb here is a list of the zombies behaviours.

They need to eat drink and sleep.

They often pick up objects such as machetes or pipes maybe kitchen knives and turn them on survivors.

Some of the infected do not like sunlight and will hide in underground subway stations and in buildings until nightfall where they will be at their deadliest. many of the stronger infected hunt by day aswell.

Many groups of infected will have a sort of leader who usually has a large vicious packroaming with him. he also gets the most meat off dead survivors.

There are a few infected who may try to utter random words.

Some infected will not attack survivors and will lumber around harmlessly eyeing nearby zombies or survivors.

Some infected may randomly burst open spewing innards and organs giving survivors a high risk of catching a disease if they stay too close.

thoughts?.

Well technically they're still humans. That means all these could actually apply since they have a brain.

If you want to get really realistic, pretty much every zed in Chernarus'd be dead by now because most of them haven't had a human to eat....

very nice idea, i remember cell, from stephen king, the zombies slept at night and have to eat too, i think they didnt need to defecate or urinate or whatever, but they were always in packs, loved that idea. I see that the packs you mean are like wolves, if rocket say that their brain is not totally gone that could happen, but the interesting thing could that players would one day find out a way to go unoticed in the middle of them we could use it and try to manipulate it. Sheep herds always stay in group so they will always follow the stray, so almost all of them will attack the survivors, but if you could fool the zombies into thinking you are one of them, you could weaponize them, its dangerous but a nice idea, i think.

some ideas, this should be added, but the zombies should have a low need for food, so they wouldnt need to eat everything there is in the cities or wherever they are

oh yeah, and when almost starving to death zombies can try to eat anything and become more violent or try to attack other zombies, and when one of them dies the starving zombies will eat the corpse of the zombie if they were not chasing a survivor, they could prioritize into the good food source that survivors or animals are. When not hungry they will only attack threats, survivors and agressive animals.

This is so weird, apache25 has.. I think first time something remotely good on "suggestion". At some part I like this, even tho its not YOUR idea as you read it from a book..

But as Rocket have said his brother is dealing with the virus, at least for standalone.

I have to say I litteraly lol'd when i read this ! (because it was the first thing) haha apacheee !

But yes the ideas are quite good

I have always wondered about more obscure, random murmuring here and there or even creepier shit than that

..

Subway station would be awesome in standalone hmmmm..

To be honest i dont like it. once they have leaders, eat drink and sleep, we might as well just fight other people they arent really zeds or infected anymore

Forgot to add were you said that they use weapons

I would commend this idea for being somewhat thought-provoking, except for the countless times he has posted this idea on thread after thread.

As well as the fact the the title of the thread is "Zombie idea."

With no tags. Could you be any more general, and then accuse people of stealing your idea like you've done before?

IMO zombies should be brainless. I find the idea that they would able to think to a certain extent (enough to use tools, group up, etc.) yet still know nothing more than attacking/hunting to be contradictory...

The infected in this canon would be raging, screaming, hungry psychopaths who want nothing more than to eat your face off after smashing you to itty bitty nonresistant pieces. Sure, they probably could coordinate to some very small degree, and would be smart enough to open doors, encircle what they see as prey, etc, etc. Hell, I'd even go so far as to say they're somewhat intelligent enough to hold something and try to hit you with it.

Because who doesn't want to see a zed run at you and try to thwack you with an umbrella? Comedy gold.

But the other behaviors you describe wouldn't be a fit to this game.

The only priority a zed has is acquiring sustenance through consuming human flesh. That is all. There is no room for a leader or other such things in the zeds mind. You are food, thus they will try to eat you. Simple as that.

exacltly Riem screaming hungry pyschopaths. it would giving players something to fear. if the zombies work in packs and try to ambush their prey accordingly it will make the game much harder.

imagine it you are walking along a railway track to cherno stop to take a swig of your water bottle.......................and then suddenly hundreds of infected burst out from the treeline screaming and sprinting for you. you drop the water bottle and run like hell. but you trip on the railway track sleepers. the infected are on you screaming and raging ripping you open.

an hour later a survivor stumbles across a half empty waterbottle and a pile of mangled human remains....................

So how about making players play as zeds and AI arma bots try to kill them... "almost" the same?

Nope, sorry, as much as i like the idea of a degenerated pack of ex humans without any morality swarming around like a pack of animals hunting for prey (why do i think of bandits here? ;) ) I am still a fan of the classic romero zombies mixed with the 28 days infected we see in dayz. It was so frightning to see my first "priest" zombie in front of a church or the doctor zombies around the hospital. I like the idea of them remembering their old lifes and maybe even miss it, forced to kill their own species by the infection.

And to be honest, the AI needed for this suggestion is just so much impossible to create for the people at bohemia. Sorry, i really like their work but wayfinding and ai are not the strengths in their portfolio...
