Globally banned for using Debug Monitor Fix

Recommended Posts

Hey.

I bought Arma 2 Combined Operations for 4 days ago and got banned yesterday. I've browsed through alot of forums and it looks like alot of players has been banned for no reason, however, I was banned for using a debug monitor fix.

I don't know anything about the game yet, and that's probably why I got banned. Here's the whole story behind it:

I met a guy in-game which seemed to be a really nice guy. We played for some hours together and had really fun. After awhile I died because I had the debug monitor enabled and probably died for the reason of thirst or hunger. We met up again and he told me he knew a fix to the debug monitor and send me a link to a download site. Mad as I was for the reason I died and downloaded it and restarted the game. When I tried to join the same server I got the message "Battleye Global Ban #ID" where ID was some letters and number. It looks like that guy was actually scaming me and either got my CD-Key banned or stole it and replaced with a banned one (As I've read has happened to others).

If you'd like the link to the Debug Monitor Fix, please tell me and I shall give you it.

Now, if you believe I tried to hack or cheat, the answer is No. I cannot prove to you that I didn't and I don't expect anyone to believe me either, I only want some help on how I can get myself unbanned or retrieve my lost CD-Key.

I don't want anyone accusing me for hacking or cheating when I haven't. I've had the game for 4 days guys, show some respect.

As I stated before, I only want help.

Thanks in advance.

You will need to buy a new copy, I'd make sure you have removed that malware from your PC before doing so though. It doesn't matter if you personally cheated, your brother, your dog or some random person who convinced you to download malware and stolen your cd key, you are responsible for securing your own PC at the end of the day.

Hi.

So I've heard, which is really pissing me off, since I spent 30 EUR on it for 4 days ago. Aren't there any other solutions?

I've removed the virus completely. I've worked with virus alot in my younger years, which was really stupid of me downloading that.

Go here...dont stay here...

That's why you should research before you download something..there is a forum for a reason.

I also did a day or two of checking in another game before i downloaded something that fixed an issue, i read tons of posts in different forums.

Hej,

No, this time you probably wont get an answer.

Smasht_AU pretty much sums it up.

@Drogur

What has BattlEye to do with a stolen key? He obviously downloaded a key stealer and his actual CD-Key didn't get banned, but replaced with a legitimately banned one.

@OT

1. Start Steam in Administrator Mode

2. Right click on your ARMA 2 and click Properties

3. Click the Local Files tab

4. Click 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache'

5. Repeat step 4 for "ARMA2: Operation Arrowhead"

6. Run both games once with Steam still being ran in administrator mode.

7. Update your DayZ if needed and play!

This will get you your old key back. However, it is likely that your key is now being used or will be used by someone else and it will probably end up Globally banned due to someone else cheating with your CD-Key.

Hi.

I will try this and post back the results when I'm done!

Thank you for being the only one so far that wants to help, even though not much can be done.

@Nik21

As I read it, he asked for help, I gave him direction.

Added to more answer your question:

Cheating / hacking is a global problem and comes in many forms.

They steal and alters code that is not theres, they earn money from it.

There are several ways to fight this, technically and by using laws.

Battleye needs all the information they can get.

To save yourself a bit of money, you don't need to buy Combined Ops again. Just by Operation Arrowhead and you'l be good to go again.

There's a lesson to be learned here......

NEVER DOWNLOAD ANY FIX, MAP, OR MOD THAT ISN'T FROM A KNOWN AND TRUSTED WEBSITE.

ANY FIX IS GUARANTEED TO BE ADVERTISED HERE FIRST.
