kreinzer@gmail.com 7 Posted October 1, 2012 (edited) Farily new to the game, but like the next guy I don't like being 'robbed' of my honest day's work by a hacker. I haven't encountered a server where there's a hacker causing shit (least I think I haven't), but seeing that they can spawn weapons and what not, do they target servers with 25-30+ players or lower population servers ~15 and lower? I prefer playing on higher populated servers, makes the experience more thrilling, but if there's a high risk of losing stuff to hackers I'd surely move where there's less people. JarethJams 87 Posted October 1, 2012 Private hives with passworded or whitelisted servers are the way to go with high pop servers. On official you might wanna go low pop. If you're feeling lucky just play high pop officials lol. I personally play in a private community with 75+ players
enforcer1975 1111 Posted October 1, 2012 Low pop doesn't mean it's safe..it's safer compared to high pop servers where the type of hacks might be "hacks of mass destruction" rather than teleporting around killing people or spawning ammo crates / joining with hacked weapons like the TWS when it gets dark. sostronk 334 Posted October 1, 2012 Hackers tend to roam from server to server from what Ive seen. No server is safe. No player is 100% safe, except for server admins.
kreinzer@gmail.com 7 Posted October 1, 2012 Hm ok, so the private servers are the way to go basically, though I guess joining passworded ones would require being a member of a community/clan and what not? Also, is the game's anti-cheating software accomplishing anything to at least make people think twice before hacking because of the risk of having their account/cd key banned, or do they just keep updating that thing to avoid BattleEye or whatever it is and keep on 'rocking'? Hackers stole a bunch of other hackers CD keys and sell the for cheap ($5). Cheaters don't lose much, unless they have been banned by a means other than CD key/Guid. Ive heard rumors that players have hacked and bought another CD Key only to have that CD key banned right away before they have hacked, but I don't know if thats true or not. The game has alot less hackers now than it did a few weeks back, but theres still some time to go before thats at a respectable level. I remember a little while back I couldn't go an hour without being killed by a hacker. Seems like I can go a few weeks now.
