What has happened in the last month?

Recommended Posts

OK, first of all, sorry if this ends up being a useless thread, but I just want to know.

Last time I played DayZ was over a month ago, had some test in college, so I had no time. I tried to play one time, but got sniped by two guys near Balota, so I didn't even want to start again until I had enough time.

So what did change? For better and for worse, considering gameplay, options in game, bugs and glitches that were fixed, or that are occuring now, and most importantly - the players.

Nothing, absolutely nothing good. They broke the debug monitor. Yay!

They didn't break the debug monitor, they purposely removed it.

Anyways, Private hives are starting to become the main servers for DayZ I guess, well the main STABLE servers. Most have no hackers, custom anti hack scripts which make it better for the players.

It really isn't anything new, every game has those players that are usually pretty slow intellectually and can't thing of anything better to do with their time than say, snipe unarmed players at the Balota airfield.

The game is evolving since most vet players are well geared with nothing else to do they go around killing/saving others.. Other then that nothing really changed..

Hackers and script kiddies... +10000000 for them... makes the game a blast (inserts sarcasm here) , no seriously....

My friend, you are witnessing the downfall of humanity... and Internet-enabled 12-year-olds are its element of destruction.

So much hacked in gear the game has lost all meaning. Nothing to do but kill other players. Zeds still nothing more than a nuisance or an early warning beacon to go and kill other players.

Everything stopped for the standalone.

- Majority of artifacts (graphical glitches) have been fixed.

- Debug monitor was removed (you can turn it on in the options but doing so will remove HUD indicators for hunger/thirst etc)

- Private servers/hives are gaining in popularity as the mod has become much more open, resulting in many private hives eliminating the majority of cheating/duping/bugs entirely as well as adding entirely new features and maps.

- DayZ team are focusing on standalone, a lot of questions have been answered in various Q&A's, interviews, blog posts and developer presentations.

- People still complain about hackers constantly on the public hive.

- We still don't have dogs *WOOF WOOF*
