I'm familiar with the term black listing, but how does one go about getting whitelisted. Or is that just a self issued term to make people feel good?

Are you speaking of a server whitelist? If so, apply to let them add you to it.

Depends if the server has a "White List". If it does, that means you have to apply on either their site or through the servers owner/Admin. It's to help keep a group of players that are only allowed in said server if they are white listed. Helps with scripters and hackers as they can be easily kicked, or not accepted. Doesn't stop them, but it helps a lot!

They whitelist the GUID, if your GUID isn't on the list you can't join even if you have the server password. You will need to apply for whitelisting and wait for your application to be approved. You can get your GUID by typing "#beclient guid" in chat.

Ok, that has nothing to do with what I was talking about then, it's basically a list of trusted medics on the forums.

Blacklist - Whitelist

If Blacklist means a list of people who are NOT allowed to the server, what do you think white - the opposite of black - means?

Hint; Whitelist is a list of people who are allowed to connect to the server. Nobody else but the people on the whitelist can join.

Whitelist=the admins friends and clan members,basically the same as running a passworded server.
