Stupid shit happens, and it is stupid

A few minutes ago I went to NWAF to get some more DMR mags [10 isn't enough] for my M14. [There were about 14 or so people on the server I believe].

Grabbed a bit of ammo and then was bored, so I decided to rack up some zombie kills. So I sprinted onto the airstrip and spammed 6 M14 shots. Luckily I got some aggro.

Went into the southern barracks and dropped my M14 for an AKM [temporarily, as I wanted to use up the ammo].

A few seconds later, the server restarted. So basically I had just lost my M14. I was really mad.

Server came back up, and I knew I had to find another weapon in the southern barracks to defend myself.

Guess what I found? An M14. Just my luck.

Morale of the story: Never drop your precious weapons for a few seconds if you know the server doesn't warn about restart.

Yeah if Rocket keeps the current model for servers (which I don't want him to, but I think he will) then I think there need to be some stringent rules put in place like 10 minute warnings for server restart. It happens with vehicles and the likes too. Happen to be in a vehicle when the server restarts you may log back in bugged like your in a vehicle but your not etc etc.

I have been filling tents up when the sudden dreaded "no message recieved" pops up just to taunt me. I've also had to go on a massive treasure hunt looking for a vehicle after a random restart that could have left it in one of the hundreds of places that i saved it prior.

I guess my only possible relation to such a thing is when I was driving a bus through the NW Airfield (no fucks were given).

And I was treated with DayZ's special gift of "No message recieved."

I come back later on to find the bus gone and a few minutes later, a possibly giant whole in my body mass.

This happened to a me a couple times with my L85's and a MK48 when i was dumping guns outside the barracks, they were not there when the server went back up and I didnt get them back right away lol

ya think thats bad? I had a chopper in the air twice and twice the server got restarted within 20 mins of flying and the work was all done by just me and a friend the first time and myself the 2nd :|
