Is DayZ standalone coming to Steam Store? I wanted to know this because I have money in my steam store that I have not used.

Public knowledge of this is not yet released, and it will be a while before the stand alone is even seen.

What he said, there is not even screenshots for the game yet.

If I had to bet on a digital game being available on Steam I would bet yes.

ya they are taking their sweet time with it...war z will be out before it and sky rocket with the gaming community and dayz will be forgotten if they dont step their game up :/ which i would hate to see

Given that the rest of BI's catalog is available on Steam and 99% of DayZ players bought Arma2 CO on steam I think the logical assumption, unless of course BI marketing likes to stick their fingers into electric sockets, would be that yes, DayZ standalone will be released on Steam.

I would not hold your breath for the WarZ coming out ultra soon, they have failed to meet every target date they have given (still waiting on the public beta that is available at the end of summer). If they meet the October release date they initially set I would be shocked, but I still think it might beat Dayz standalone as far as reaching the marketplace (because frankly that is their only hope, if they fail to do that they might as well pack it up).

Are you serious?

Let me ask you would you rather have a game that looks like it has been rushed in 2 months not mentioning any names but it rhymes with Corzee, or wait for a game that's of high quality and works, not to mention it's been in development for just over a month and you're saying they're taking their time? Games do not simply come out in a few weeks they take years.

I thought it has been made clear that WarZ is a fraud. A ripped off concept on a really, really shitty engine who's only advantage over the DayZ mod is the inventory system; which is getting a complete overhaul with the standalone.

Go play the war inc.

now silence.

As buggy as dayz is, it's still more fun than a knock-off CoD clone of the lowest, arcadey, sub-par quality. Seeing how the war inc was released the way it was I have little faith in any of its flaws being fixed for warz. Poor graphics, zombies are just as buggy as dayz from the alpha footage, instant weapons switches via hotkey, poor sound design. We havn't seen more than 4-5 zombies on screen at one time. the list goes on and on.

they have customization and fluid combat and movement oh and RAGDOLLS

but I don't think they're even close to the immerision, trackir, FLIR, NVGs, rifles and ballistic

speaking of which how many features is Rocket going to remove?

trackir/freetrack?

squad tools? logos, badges, etc

custom faces? hopefully in order to make custom morph models

FLIR?

google for more review if you want.

All those guys actually played game.

Basically only thing I don't agree with you is "fraud" and "ripped off concept".

Nice looks like I may have just got sold on WarZ. Sure it could benefit from the Dayz atmosphere of constant old school peril. But the fact that it's built upon a modern functional game engine probably wins out in my book. Just have to see how free to play with freemium content plays out. I would rather just buy the game and contribute to a community run servers then deal with the freemium content model.

But still it's kind of cool that you can rent a keypad protected safe house for you can your friends to stash loot in. Also cool to think of robbing other safehouses instead of mucking around with deserted buildings.

Guess I'll have to play both to decide which one wins my free time.

Cool Video

Locking this here, how it turned into a debate about WarZ I have no idea.

Yes, standalone will be on steam.
