many players are quitting

Recommended Posts

Yep' date=' I've stopped playing too. I've had it, the main reasons are cheaters and over all friendly attitude towards them in game and on the forums.

I dont have problems with PvP, bandits or whatever.

Maybe I comeback later (after the summer or something) but I doubt it.

[/quote']

So, the best way to combat hackers/cheaters is to complain about it and tell them how bad they are on the forums?

Maybe the best way is for us to silently watch them, study them, see what they are doing and then destroy their means to do these things.

If you post all butt-hurt about it, what will it do? They will laugh, and be encouraged to do it more.

I personally think this game needs some more stuff to do, like making your own place, taking over villages etc, roaming zombie hordes, a little more Role Playing aspect.

I do know it's still Alpha, but I have high hopes that you guys arent planning on quitting updating this game further and further.

This is actually, one of the best games I've ever played and I've played all the old Zelda games.

@Rocket post

^^^^^

that shit!

never found a hacker, or at least, didn't notice if it was one.

and hell, people cry a lot about being killed.

I kill on sight almost everytime. Two reasons:

1) To take what you have and I need... (food, water, ammo etc)

2) To protect what I have and you might want... (good weapon, bloodbags, tools etc)

I won't kill you just for fun. And honestly I've never found anyone doing this. When you shot someone, you attract a lot of attention that you probably do not want. You waste ammo, and for what?

Everytime before I pull the trigger, I ask myself. One bullet for what? If I'm on red food, red water, I don't even think. But if I'm just trying to stay safe without you trying to kill me, I will just watch over you as long as possible. Maybe follow you to be sure you left the town or some shit like that.

Im not butthurt at all... Just disappointed.

I saw some comments here about hackers that threw me off tracks, like they are good guys and they make the game better, (for example one guy spawned some AI soldiers and convoys)

Whenever I complain i hear/read things like shut up, stop complaining you carebear,

So, OK Ill be quiet now...

Or the situation where I was following a well equipped bandit waiting for the perfect shot, and after I finally got him he spawned few meters from his dead body with the same gear and shot me back. That really destroys my gaming experience.

And lets not start with the random /killall's...

I really appreciate the things you've done with this mod, its awesome and I know its not you arma engine that makes cheating so easy but I just lost the will to play and thats it.

I love the title of this post. Because some guy and his friends are frustrated, that means that many players are quitting the game. It is not for everyone. Just the fact that you can post your ideas in this suggestion forum and the Devs read it is reason enough to stay. For fucks sake, everyone who participates in here has the ability to help shape the game. That is fucking awesome.

10 shitty carebears quit.

The world is know simultaneously playing the smallest violins.

It's a concerto in A minor called "Whiners gonna whine"

It's a harsh world. Get used to it. I only play with my brother, cousin and a few friends I've known for years. We have yet to run into the same issues you have. The only problem I've ran into is sissy players disconnecting when we smoke them.

You have to adapt to the game to be successful. You want to go about it the other way, changing the game to fit YOU.

Not to hate on my European brethren, but I'm assuming spawn is from Europe. When you're not born into a culture that has weapons, you tend to make retarded assumptions like that. Guns rarely break. I've had a Marlin Model 1895 in my family for over 50 years and it still shoots like new. Losing a weapon is like losing a car, only an idiot can do it.

for 1 example I saw a video of two guys going around together. one asks the other if he has a map or a compas. he sais no i got a tent. the other guy shoots him and walks off. in real life it would not happen like this.

sure bandits add to the fun but they dont play to survive which is the aim. they play to kill anyone and hunt anyone. they dont care fi they die because they will just respawn. if your a real life bandit there is no respawn button. in real life bandits would try and rob people over shoot them. because if they shoot them then later on when they need help there are no humans left to help

Do you read what your write? Think about what you are saying... "In real life... In real life..." This isn't real life. This is a zombie apocalypse. You have nothing to guage your statement off of, nothing to compare facts with. All you have is a social experiment called DayZ. IN FACT this is more realistic than The Walking Dead television show because this is unscripted and is a more true revelation to the human character than any other multiplayer zombie game or movie.

Please quit trolling. Lets face it, you are quitting because your a sloppy player that dies ALOT.

There are a few to several things this game could change to be my "ideal" zombie game. Bought Arma II on sale to try this mod, and even though it's in alpha, I'd have to say it's an okay mod. Only reason I feel that this is such a success is due to the idea of the Z-apocalpyse in Arma's engine and being able to play with other people. Don't know how further this alpha can go, but good luck to it, it has potential though of course not for everyone.

There's one game called Project Zomboid that I feel has the best mechanics and features for those who don't like the DayZ mod. It's an indie game still in Alpha, but I feel it touches on the Z-apocalypse the best, though of course it's my personal preference. So OP, I recommend you look at this game instead, though it's only singleplayer atm, they're working on MP too, but I do not know when that'll happen. Also it's in that isometric view and the places that you can explore is pretty much going to be endless. It's also like DayZ, where you see how long you can survive.

I agree for some parts,

Hackers ruin this game

Poorly run servers ruin this game

Clans exploiting their servers ruin this game

No mechanics to detect Murderers ruin this game.

The last one I can deal with, but the top three will destroy DayZ

Oh... This guy didnt shut the whole mod down? Should I put the lawn chairs back out?

Amusing how people cannot get the sandbox concept and want game mechanics built in. Classes' date=' factions, goals, quests...

[/quote']

The great thing about this game is that some total newb with a stupid mag can still cap the guy who spent hours playing and looting tons of elite kit. Any bullet can kill.

You trust your own life only with the people you've known for years? Why we have to change that for 'balance' /sarc

You have to remember this is Alpha and it's better to see what are the issues so the Dev team can them find ways to counter then verse having them happen further down the Dev cycle.

Plus the DayZ we see today will be different then the DayZ we see in a final product or even in a Beta State. The Game is Evolving and it's amazing to see the process =)

Keep up the great work, Rocket!!

A bunch of dudes that have never played arma before are bitching about an alpha mod and now since they don't wanna play anymore, somehow, that means that the loyal, many years in arma vets are also leaving. No, it means that you got tired of getting gangraped in the popular fps's and thought you would be the kings of the playground here if you played together. All this talk about rewards and penalties, why don't you go play something else, something with killstreaks and care packages since you are so worried about being rewarded for being "good". Your mistake is thinking there is good or bad, there is only survival. Don't like it, play regular arma where you will be split into factions.

I keep seeing this red herring.

Yes, it's about zombies. Zombies are not real. We know that.

But the remainder of the game should reflect reality to the greatest extent possible!

If you take the "this isn't real life, this is a zombie apocalypse" line to it's logical conclusion the game could have trolls, fairies, aliens, jet packs, phasers, hover cars, transporters, flying monkeys, talking unicorns or anything else because after all "it isn't real life".

ok think in real life. do you watch the walking dead. do you see people in that TV show hunting people instead of trying to stay alive? in a real life situation would you go run off in to the bush alone and kill anyone you see?

Sorry I had to lol at you're "Ok in real life this happens, cause it happens on a TV show" remark.

This mod is not about realism. Realistic combat?

I was a soldier, it's fucking boring 99% of the time.

This mod is designed to have the authenticity required to model and produce some authentic emotional responses.

Reality has many concessions made against it in order to achieve this authenticity in the brief time a player is present in the world.

I've always suspected you did little tweaks to the game to test what people would do...such as removing the bandit skin.

But, that's just me and my intense paranoia.

First of all... The zombie apocalypse is gonna happen, end of story.

Second... Even with people killing each other constantly it doesn't bug me because it takes just a little bit of travel to get some new equipment and then you shoot the other players. Quite fun actually. The game started out FUN, then got frustrating, then got FUNNNNNNNn and I'm playing with a buddy so i know he's not gonna shoot me.

Third... This is suppose to be how it is, if it weren't it would be another left 4 dead game.

It's an alpha test. Your expectations are way too high.

Providing feedback is one thing, but threatening to quit a game in alpha testing because it has some issues is completely idiotic.
