Where on earth are the vehicles?

Okay guys, i usually play on this server, nothing special. My group and I are now looking for a few vehicles. We had the chopper for an evening, at some point, but was lost due to hackers. What I am asking, we have been around the whole map in hopes of finding a few, any will do. We have not seen or heard the chopper since that day, but we found a few tractors and bikes. If you park them out of the map, that black bordewr that runs along the map, will they stay there? Because they are really gone. We do not want to hoard them all or anything, but the van is quite cool, and so is the white pickup. Can someone clarify?

I sure would love to find a heli. We cant find our server helicopter. Got to use it maybe once. Hence the cancelling of our server. :(

EDIT: back to topic however, try scouring the most western and northern fringes of the map, better chance of finding vehicles and camps up those ways

search the north or the west of the map, you will find a lot of camps and maybe an entire float of vehicles..take with you some parts if you can because some people breaks their cars so it's harder to steal them

nothing but nothing could persuade me into a vehicle. i have absolutely no idea why anyone would willingly place themselves into those coffins. you might as well stand in an open field near cherno, light a campfire, and shoot AS50 rounds into the sky. here i am!

that said, i think the vehicle spawning, saving and repair mechanic in this game isn't really fit for purpose. what, seriously, is the point in having, or acquiring, a vehicle at the moment? other than the bragging rights.

See.. spending hours driving around the map is kinda pointless if the helicopter has been destroyed and wont spawn back for 7 days. But if finding helicopters is not your issue then...

Nah not at £30 a month... someone crashed ours two days ago, no worries though, got a car and bike. Or i'll walk... much more fun than just flying everywhere

Since the new patch if they save outside the map and the server restarts then they should return to their spawn locations

hmmm - tell that to the guys into whose heli i popped a single M107 round fired from an AS50. crashed and burned, literally. ever since that day, i cross myself when i see an available vehicle, spit on the ground, and run the other way.

That's fair enough, i've shot down a chopper and destroyed a few moving vehicles but won't deter me, especially when you are say in Moggy or Zelengorsk and you need to get your mate at Devils Castle, vehicle all the way

But if I look at the Wiki, it says: so and so many vehicles, this and that, there and there. But will there always be a heli on a server, and a UAZ etc? Or is it just chance, that makes them spawn? Because I am thinking, maybe someone hauled them all out of the map.. But Derpy just informed me that it cannot be so. So what do we do?

If a Heli is crashed it will take a week to respawn, i think this is the same with most to all vehicles, so maybe there is none left on the map due to clumsy drivers and what not

You could just be unlucky like me, the server I usually play on has had some skiddies Magnet hack all the vehicles to one spot at least three times and it's messed up the spawns, three times now I have had a vehicle saved at my camp only to login and find it TP'd to the coast with every other vehicle, yesterday I even logged in at camp after two minutes I saw the Ural disappear in front of my eyes.

On that point I have one question though, in the last two groups of vehicles I saw every vehicle except the UAZ, Military Ural and Heli, does that mean they have yet to respawn because when I say all the other vehicles I mean ALL of them, like over a dozen cycles, 4-5 quads, 2 Motorbikes, 2 buses, 2 Pick-ups, 3 cars and 3 boats.

Yeh, I have been stalking the server I got my hideout on. Nights upon nights of running spawn points. Nothing.

The ONLY thing I have ever found was a small boat in another person's camp. Took me two hours to get it running just to shimmy along the coast. It's slower than people running and louder than people firing when running, plus I need to make frequent stops to the coast to refill.

And then someone decided to reinstall their PC in this house, ramping the ping up high enough for me to get kicked everytime I try to rejoin. So I expect to relog when I get back tomorrow and find myself deep in water and without a boat in sight.

This is why I play on a private hive. The server I play on has active admins who do regular maintenance on the server to make sure things like vehicles driven into the water or boats on land respawn properly so players can use them. They also are quick to ban script-kiddies. Link to forum post where I play if you want to check it out. It's Lingor island map but for gameplay I tend to prefer that map to Chernaus:

I haven't tried this yet, but I suspect the best bets for finding a vehicle would be:

1) The forests within a 2km radius of NW airfield. Presumably people keep camps and vehicles there so they can quickly loot the airfield for awesome military loot.

2) The Northern and Western edges of the map

3) On an island, teleported there by a hacker. In that case, you can only destroy the vehicle and wait for it to respawn on server restart.

All that said, I have found vehicles on the south coast before - a couple of old bikes in and around the towns, a fully-repaired motorcycle that was abandoned because its previous owner got it stuck in a fence (knocked the fence down with a hatchet and rode off into the sunset), and a couple of heavily damaged ATVs sitting in Kamorovo. Not once have I found a vehicle at a vehicle spawn point, despite searching those extensively. I've also never found anything larger than an ATV, presumably cars, buses, lorries and helis are hoarded in hard to reach places by groups and clans.

Good luck hitting me from anywhere except behind or infront of me when I am going down a highway at 110kph or across a field at 70kph on my motorbike.
