My Personal Challenge

So after a few weeks of playing with a loosely organized group of friends I decided to go alone and play day z the way I would actually do it in real life.

I am going to make contact with everyone I meet and only shoot them if they are hostile to me.

I will assist anyone who needs help If I have the resources to do it.

I will not run for more than a few hundred meters.

I will stick to the coast more often then not.

I will not use outside help such as online loot maps or guides.

I will take a break after shooting every player (to simulate the psychological effects of killing a human)

I decided to do this to make the game more intense because I found the game too easy when I had a stock pile of M4's and Mk48's sitting at camp.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions to make?

That's a good idea. Making personal rules for yourself in this game is a great way to have a more immersive experience. Good luck, man.

Good luck with that, i've literally gotten to the point where i yell at anyone i see telling them to leave with my gun pointed at them.

Edit: If your looking for suggestions try to literally save people from bandits/zombies. I've had only one chance to do so in my entire DayZ career. A fresh spawn with a hatchet was being mauled by zombies, i tried to take them out with my sniper rifle but i was too late D:.

Good luck man. One thing though, you're going to have a very slow time if you run only a few hundred meters. Keep running I think, but keep the rest of the stuff realistic. Up to you of course, but you'll get bored easily, just saying.

I realized that. Im considering doing that. Its waaay too long. to just walk.

Take a break for a day. To simulate finding friendlies who would patch me up

Military M-16/M-4s are the same as civilian ARs, other than the burst/auto feature. Have you shot any AR in RL? Maybe just don't use burst/auto in game. It's funny because I have been using the M-24 a ton lately and I own a Rem 700 ps with Leaupold Mark 4 scope.

Last time I tried this, I got shot by 3 people before dying.

Even yelled in direct chat to simulate the pain of being shot multiple times.

"AH FUCK! G-... Damn it.. Nhragh... You'll pay for that, you hear me you worthless bastaaaard?!"

Got shot by a winchester, survived, killed the guy after a 8 minute stalk and me breathing heavily through direct chat.

Got shot at by a random Lee Enfield. Downed, somehow survived because another lee enfield shot the first guy. I get up and bandage. 98 blood.

"Stumble around" a bit and ramble about my pain from the bloodloss.

Start shooting at walls a few times and stumble into a corner inside of a firehouse.Crouched down, I continue breathing laboriously and frequently crying out in pain.

Hero guy runs in

"Hey, are you o- Oh shit... You're fucked up, man!" (Dude was listening to me for a while)

"S-stay away from me!"

"No, Wait! I want to help you, b-

awesome dude gets headshotted by someone outside.

I yell, then a dude comes in and ends my life.

No I haven't

My shooting is limited to a few shotguns, a bolt action rifle. and some pistols

So you hit rock bottom now your attempting rehab to save your soul more or less like a young kid slamming a crack pipe because his friends never told him about pot. Selecting weapons from a tent for weeks, onto carrying your own weight, new thought don't sell out in game to the point where your bored with friends shooting new spawns on the coast until you have a divine epiphany

Make sure you stop every 15 minutes (Rest and roleplay like your covering your tracks). When you want to log-out find a water source and set up camp.. Once you have looted a town/city never return as its got nothing of interest......

Well when i log out i find a place i would feel secure staying. Like a large building
