Frozen (DayZ) 144 Posted September 19, 2012 since water bottle is almost useless because of ridiculous amount of soda cans, that wont make any difference at all.
Hydra (DayZ) 472 Posted September 19, 2012 (edited) I don't know about everyone else, but I miss spawning with a revolver/macky. Edited September 19, 2012 by Hydra
HFTP-Ben 0 Posted September 19, 2012 There may be more cans around but is always good to have a refillable water source...the amount you start with is rediculous now. Ooh lets go and try and survive in zombie infested chernarus with a torch a single bandage and an empty rucksack...durrrrr
Lewf 27 Posted September 19, 2012 It's already way too easy to get geared up the way it is now. I don't have any tents or anything, all i do is go to elektro and find a dead body with some gear (ALWAYS do), specially in sniper hill or something (if you dont find a body, go to sniper hill with a hatchet and kill a bandit asshole yourself)
Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted September 19, 2012 Well I hope the background story Reveals the reason why your character spawns on the beach in the first place. I always played with the assumption my character was washed up due to falling overboard a last evacuation ship or similar. this could explain the lack of items.having a pistol on start takes so much from the game / Mod.

Thanks for playing.
jabberwock (DayZ) 24 Posted September 19, 2012 I would rather have it where you spawn with nothing, not even a bag or bandage. The lack of a bandage would limit to some degree peoples' willingness to run balls to the wall through towns.

Everything is too easy to get right now. We need other kinds of solutions. Changing what you start with will change nothing, really.

I would be very frustrated taking a random hit after a fresh spawn and slowly bleeding to death over 3 minutes, taking more time to respawn, etc etc. Edited September 19, 2012 by 00dlez
DemonGroover 8836 Posted September 19, 2012 I think you should start with nothing but a watch, but i agree in that you could start with nothing at the moment because it doesnt matter - finding gear is a bit too easy.Bandages in my opinion are too common, but then again so is bleeding to death. How exactly does getting hit by a zombie cause you to bleed so often?Resources should definitely be more scarce. Finding a stash of food, medical supplies or a wepaon should be cause for joy. At the moment all it produces is a shrug of the shoulders as you bypass another wad of bandages, double barrel shotguns and beans as you look for military gear and morphine.
