sostronk 334 Posted September 19, 2012 Shotguns are pretty rare in Lingor as is the ammo. From memory there are only about 4 barns on the whole map. If I had a double barrell on Lingor Id be looking to trade up fairly quickly. You can get ammo from Residential areas, but still. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
kryvian 123 Posted September 19, 2012 the only annoyance I find with the double barrel is it's ammo. yes you can turn it into 8pellets/slugs until you need more, but to transform from one to the other you need 8 slots, and more than often I do not have that space/bugs out.Player wise it is louder than an enfield or winchester, but zombie wise, it seems to be on the same level with winchester, if not a bit lower. These are all personal observations.In your case, when you didn't have any primary weapon, taking it is acceptable, heck its acceptable if you out of ammo for your current primary and need to kill something urgently. t1337dude 101 Posted September 20, 2012 I've killed players with the Double Barreled Shotgun in at least 2 different circumstances I can remember. First one was when I was newer to the game. I managed to break my legs earlier on in my life and crawled into a nearby town. The first weapon I found was the DB shotgun so I took it, and I intended to get a kill with it. I slowly crawled further into town, and eventually hear gunshots coming from a school nearby. Slowly but surely, I crawl to the side-ladder of the school, and crawl onto the roof. I heard footsteps coming from below so I waited patiently above. Luckily enough, the bugger comes up to the roof and I shoot him in the head with a slug. It instantly killed him.More recently on Lingor, I just spawned and picked up a DB shotgun with some pellets. I was running from village to village until I got interrupted by a firefight occuring on the 2nd level of one of those big clay buildings. One of the players kills the other and I make my move by sprinting in. I sprinted all the way up the stairs and around the building up until I came face to face with an M4A1 armed bandit. One shot to the chest instantly killed the guy, and he managed to break my bones and take away 6000 of my hp. Thankfully he had meat and morphine. :) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Tracker (DayZ) 7 Posted September 21, 2012 (edited) Did get my first ever player kill with it..It was a surpise motherfucker here is a some 12 gauge fury type of moment ;) . Every time I find one, its always when I'm cornered by zombies and decide to go out fighting. It would nice if shotgun ammo could bus shoved in a pouch or something, ie one pouch takes two slots and can carry say..12-15 shells, and finding shells by the twos/fours/eights adds to the pouch.
