Perhaps implement a stiff penalty of some sort following the first death, a penalty that can possibly be reversed through some action or completion of an objective. I think perhaps the main reason I suggested this to begin with is to ease the frustration factor for new players... usually after the first death you have a pretty good idea about game mechanics, enemies, etc.... the first life is more like a tutorial. Anyway, just a suggestion after all.Your first life doesn't have to be a tutorial. Going through Arma's boot camp will tell you at least 90% of what you need to know. When I got Arma, I spent roughly a day in the tutorial, misson editor, and campaign to get a good feel for the engine before I even logged in to DayZ . As a result, I was spared much of the frustration I see from a lot of new players. The best thing you can do for a newbie is to point him to the boot camp.
