suggestion

Allow for two lives instead of just one. After you die a second time you have to start all over.

Die > Run to corpse > Live your second life.

This could work if hacking is addressed in the standalone. Perhaps implement a stiff penalty of some sort following the first death, a penalty that can possibly be reversed through some action or completion of an objective.

no.

You put the script to revive in the game, it will be hacked.

Stop being butthurt cause a hacker killed you and turn fraps on to report them next time.

Not butthurt, just making a suggestion that CAN work.

Hello there

I understand OP's suggestion but it would really take away from the tension of the game IMHO.

I also vote no.

Nice reply, thanks. I think perhaps the main reason I suggested this to begin with is to ease the frustration factor for new players... usually after the first death you have a pretty good idea about game mechanics, enemies, etc.... the first life is more like a tutorial. Anyway, just a suggestion after all.

no to this,

With the stand alone, if its balanced out to not be insanely PvP heavy, new players might be helped out by vets who want to play it that way.

Or, let them learn like the rest of us, trial, error and youtube lol.

Your first life doesn't have to be a tutorial. Going through Arma's boot camp will tell you at least 90% of what you need to know. When I got Arma, I spent roughly a day in the tutorial, misson editor, and campaign to get a good feel for the engine before I even logged in to DayZ . As a result, I was spared much of the frustration I see from a lot of new players. The best thing you can do for a newbie is to point him to the boot camp.
