Will Character respawn after changing name?

I would like to re-name my character. Will it respawn like playing with a new character or will it accept the new name without any problems?

Your character will be the same. You can change your name however many times you want, make a new profile etc.

No difference at all to where you are and what you are.

If your not using the default key binds you will need to reset any custom ones if you create a new profile.

or you can just copy an existing profile folder, rename it and the file within it to preserve your key binds.

how do you change your name?? i mean, i tried but it doesn't let me edit the name.

In the ArmA 2 main menu, go to profiles, click on your profile and choose edit. There you can change the name.

BUT if yo are using the default profile you won't be able to change the name. You have to make another custom profile and there you can choose the name, but that means you will start fresh on the coast with a new profile.

You won't start fresh on the coast. Your character data is attached to your cd key for your game not the profile you play on, if you start a new profile it makes no difference to your character. I have done it many times.

Well I be damned. Thanks for the info. But then I've must have been glitched or something. As when I changed my profile I spawned on the coast without gear. And that was way before the common know spawn glitch appeared so I thought its profile related. Weird.
