Takistan - Is it fun?

I've just fetched the new map from DayZ Commander, Takistan. So far, my 1 hour experience is me wandering aimlessly near the road trying to find some sort of civilization (Felt like my first time playing DayZ xD). I have no sense of orientation whatsoever (In Chernarus, I'd stay near the coast) but in this map I simply spawned somewhere in the mountains and found the small village of Falar. Barely found any decent loot ( A can of soda, beans, and chemlights). Am I near somehwere good? What's the main attraction of this map? How is it compared to Lingor Island and Chernarus?

Oh, and there's oddly alot more dead bodies around the place than Chernarus....

I spawned in Takistan, ran for 10 minutes, found 3 bunkers.

Bunkers were littered with bodies.

I found myself armed to the teeth.

Ran for ten more minutes.

Bumped into another person in a house.

Spawned somewhere in the mountains.

It's mainly dessert so it doesn't sound like much fun to me. It was great for tank battles in Arma, but I'm not sure it will work with DayZ.

Its not the best for dayz in my opinion. Its fun for a while and there are NO shortage of military camps and barracks. But its all too spaced out. Get spawned near the edge of the map and run the wrong way.......you are officially fucked.

It's nothing different from Chernarus. Run, Find gear, get fucked by invisible haxxors, spawn in butt-fuck no-where, repeat.

I played on a few servers last night, and it seemed like most of the time the loot wasn't spawning. I kept finding groups of barracks (usually a gold mine), but they'd all be completely empty. I even tried shit like going far away and coming back, but still nothing. the same with the residential buildings. it looked like it was gonna be too much, like Lingor, but then they'd all have no loot

while it may not be the best Zombie apoc. map its still fun..

Gotta test it out myself too. I watched some gameplay videos over Youtube and it looks like a map where you defineteley need some car :D All that running on plain vast desert :D

The only good thing are the towns in it.. Other then that it is boring desert. I had fun running along the roofs and falling through holes in them.
