exo.geni@hotmail.it 13 Posted September 13, 2012 I think it would be cool to have Arma 3 animations, ragdoll, customizations and other stuff.I know that most of these features are already planned, but are they going to use the Arma 3's ones or just doing it from scratch?I'm really worried about the animations/physics, i mean, it's what makes DayZ look that ugly (graphically).Sorry about my english :D

lvg 1690 Posted September 13, 2012 Well it's a stand alone game and seeing as the animations are already custom for the Mod it's self why wouldn't they, Arma 3 and DayZ are going to be completely unrelated
slonlo 43 Posted September 13, 2012 A little unrelated, but why is it that the folks who always say, "Sorry for my English," use MUCH better English than native speakers? Just something I've observed.ANYWAY, I think the main concern is patching the holes that Arma leaves open by way of DayZ being a mod. Security, zombie behavior, saving, and the other things that are limiting some of the game's basic functionality. Visually and even feature wise, I expect it to basically be the same to begin with. As long as everything works (more or less), then pretty can come later.
Kadavar 5 Posted September 13, 2012 According to http://dayzdev.tumblr.com/post/31347010829/the-integration-beginsThe standalone engine we are using is a branch of Take on Helicopters, which itself is a branch of ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead. So, looks like GFX will be the same, maybe updated models/textures, but in all other aspects (animation, rendering) be the same as in a mod right now

It would also considerably boost the development, which is good.
starwarsfan@gmx.de 450 Posted September 13, 2012 Rocket himself said the DayZ standalone will use a '2.5' Version of Arma's engine. Many of the features from Arma 3 will make it into the standalone but the engine will be tweaked especially for this game as to fit DayZ. Just watch some interviews with Rocket and you'll get what I mean.
