this is already in the game there is groups of bandits starting wars with other bandits go back to your homies and smoke weed

Why gangs though? I don't agree with this. I agree with clans and groups of survivors, but to class them as "gangs".. nah. Like i suggested in my first thread, to be a recognised person of a particular group, maybe implement arm bands or patches on your vest, but bandana's and stuff.. well, you get the idea.

If there are ways to customize your appearance it would provide all you need to make this happen. Get some buddies, put on blue shoes or whatever you want your "colors" to be. Take over some "turf." Kill anyone who comes in. If you want gangs in the game, make it. Or just have all your gang members use the William Wallace face, so you're set right now. A menu that pops up when you walk into Cherno and a magic gang scoreboard is just ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, your idea is great, but the whole point is for things like that to evolve naturally, not to be micromanaged by scoreboards and menus.

i gotta agree that this might be a better idea. what i really want in dayz is less kill on sight so i thought a faction system would maybe allow more team play and less solo.

and for those who say that gangs would never happen in a zombie apocalyspe, there are gangs or groups in that tv show Walking Dead and i found that show pretty realistic if you ask me. i mean they dont all go solo and kill everyone they see.
