Where are the 1200000 players?

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I was wondering why most of the servers in my browser are almost empty. I usually don't join servers with less than 40 players and now I've been having a hard time finding a server with at least 30 players. I'm not sure weather something is wrong with my filter settings or maybe something else I haven't noticed yet. But since I left the host edit line in the filter settings empty, I doubt my problem is caused by the filter.

Would be neat if someone has an advice.

Greetings from Germany

1,200,000 is the number of people who played DayZ at least once, it doesn't mean that they're still active.

The number of players in the last 24 hours is something like 90 000 on average currently.

The number of concurrent players at a given hour is what you are looking for, I know that near the mod's popularity peak it was around 30 K people.

The active population is less than half what it used to be so I'd say if you look at the server browser at the best time of the day then there'd be 15 K people spread on 4 K servers.

I think that's more or less accurate...

They all quit. The mod only got worse as it moved forward, coupled with hacking, graphic glitches, and duping. They are still trying to figure out what to do with barb wire. This was an issue in like late May. We spent like 40,000man years testing the game and they are still trying to figure out what to do with barb wire lol.

I started playing lingor. Having a NON dayz Hive gives server owners the ability to have more vehicles. Lock the server and lower the player counts.

I went back to cherno yesterday and ran for roughly 4hours just to find out that our helicopter was gone and I will be damned if i will run for another 4+ hours to find a vehicle.

So then i decided to server jump to try to find a helicopter on another server.

I Found that most servers have been abandoned. Heck they dont even restart them! they are so laggy!!

Im done with official dayz.

we have a milion tents in our server that the Dayz people said they will not give us the ability to delete. Yet they are full of hacked weapons and you cant get rid of them. I have contacted the server company to cancel the server.

and honestly.. If this is what is planned for the dayz stand alone.. I want nothing to do with it.

Private hives, whitelisted servers, Arma, school, and pretty much anything else that doesn't involve being the bitch for the enjoyment of some tiny testicled hackers. When the hackers fuck off, things will be better. If I was a shady Russian I'd release hack after hack for this game, especially if I wanted to be the competition. Just saying.

It's not as easy as you'd like to make it seem.

I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT LOUDLY THAT THERE"S BEEN A HIGH INCREASE OF SERVERS IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS, AND MOST PREFER THE QUIETER LESS LIKELY TO BE HACKED OR SNIPED SERVERS WITH LESS POPULATION. SO BASICALLY WE ARE MORE SPREAD THAN SAY 2 MONTHS AGO.

of course the user count is the players that played at least once. school is starting, etc.

we'll see an increase later on this year.

I know over a dozen friends who have stopped playing DayZ due to the rampant hacking. It's just not worth playing the game if you are mass-teleported and script-killed every hour.

Aaah I have thought something similiar about that shady Russian that "maybe" its the competition.

I have been playing on low pop DE servers and not had many problems. One hacker [only other player on server] just happened to drive a vehicle up to barn I was hiding behind in a small out of the way town, I ran for the woods and Battle eye kicked him about 30 seconds later.

Still enjoying the mod an hour or so at a time and anxiously waiting for the stand alone.

I hope the stand alone doesn't get too complicated with the inventory and underground, dogs in the woods stuff. Just getting used to the game the way it is.

Also want a single playrer mode for traveling on my laptop and not putting up with KOS ers

Different arma 2 beta patches. I one server is running a different path then you, it'll only show up at the bottom with an x next to it. Although, there are some servers that don't require a specific beta patch.

I wonder if they count the number of unique players but the amount of different names and profiles or by the amount of GUID's?

The player count i would assume are the people who have downloaded dayz from the website or have bought arma. idk.

The people on in the last 24 hours is the number below that which is normally 90-100k
