If you're trying to bandit with a pistol, you're doing it wrong.

Seriously, it takes all of 10 minutes to find a shotgun or high powered rifle in a barn. You can't even kill someone with 1 mag from anything short of a military spawn pistol.

Hero skin is child's play to obtain anyway, unless you're one of those Cherno AS50 TWS guys, you cna just sit down with a buddy in a hospital. Have one guy fill up on medical gear and the other guy go stand where zombies can hit him. Bag and bandage for a few minutes (make sure your backpack is on the ground beside you) and you get a nice plaid shirt and associated body armor.

Judging by the replies on this thread and the countless morons who come on here explaining they hack because of 'bandits player killing them'(and people just agree with them too), I think it's safe to assume people will just agree with whatever, if it punishes those better at the game.

Don't worry guys, it won't be long before there's 'no pvp' safe zones for you to go to if we continue on this 'pandering to the care bears' road.

And if heroes get bullet proof vests then bandits should get something equally useful for being good at killing players.

Amazing how people cry about this; despite my -700000 humanity I think it's fine.

The movement speed bonus won't bring any harm to you, since it's very unlikely they will use it to chase you. And if the low-cal thing is true, that's fine as well because if you're chasing people down with a Makarov then well, I'm sure the guy with the .50 cal on the hill will deal with it.

After the sidearm nerf, you really should consider looting that Enfield.

If you're dumbass enough to sit still long enough for someone to empty a Makarov into your CHEST,

Then you are both doing it wrong.

Even if it were true, you get shot anywhere besides the middle of your chest, you're taking damage.

The bulletproof vest is hardly an advantage. If you are getting shot by something that low caliber they are probably aiming for your head anyways or it's going to take 8 shots. I know when I have a crappy pistol I only aim for the head, if you aren't then you might as well use an axe.

I thought camo clothing possibly came the same kind of protective vest as the hero's.

If wont help you againt an AS50 TWS, but it might save your life if someone throws a chemlight at you.

Being a bandit is MUCH easier than being a hero. That's why there are so many bandits. If hero's get a slight edge it could only even out the playing field.

Clearly some people don't understand the concept of balanced sides/factions. You have to reward all sides equally or else everybody will want to be that one side. As it was said the reward isn't much helpful, but still i hope the developers will give bandits some sort of reward also.

The BPV is a rumor. As is the bandit's decreased scope sway. Rumors. I say it's immaterial as if I wanted to play a straight shooter I'd go try out Armored Kill for BF3 ... Which I might do anyways.

I've got the hero skin,

I believe you still bleed after taking a low caliber bullet to the chest. You go into shock and bleed, but no blood loss. I remember one day i was running around as a fresh spawn (no weapon) on the big mountain at Cap Golba.

Some asshole with a makorov hit me once from the beach, i went into shock and bled, but no blood loss. I even joked about it in direct chat. He then climbed up the mountain and killed me with his makorov (didn't fight back, wanted to spawn elsewhere).

So there is obviously a limit to how much it will block, and the vest doesn't protect you everywhere (obviously). Any difference this makes is negligible in a firefight.
